I get the feeling Spielman isn't looking for quantity this year. He kind of implied that there weren't enough players to make it worth while

This is what happens when you consistently trade down. You see studs flying off the boards while you are salivating over quantity. You might get a good player, but you miss out on a star.

He isn't moving up. That would take work. It's easier to trade down and pick practice squad guys.

Heck I don't think he is done. I would not be shocked to see him trade out of the first round.

Nah, Rick likes the 5-year rookie contracts that the 1st rounders get over the 4-year rookie contracts that the 2nd rounders get. He may trade down again, but not out of the first round. If he did I'd be like

Zimmer probably is. We're fine at OL.

Now we have 4 third round picks and 3 fourth round picks. Going to be able to move up with ease and take whoever we want.

Yep.

Except we had the guy we wanted at 14. Spielman has already blown this draft and he hasn’t even picked yet. God, I hope this is his last year as GM.

We? Not everyone here. And guess HE didn't want him. Or not at 14 for sure.

True. Like Spielman, not everyone values highly rated offensive linemen.

Well the best edge just went off the board.

Or they value taking two with extra gained picks vs. one.

He is a walking concussion. Rather have Paye.

Yep. High reward, very high risk player. Not a fan of Paye either

He already has a history of concussions. I think there are better edge guys available.

so glad the phillips temptation is gone.

I myself am ok with Darrisaw or Paye and a 2nd rd pick over AVT.

Not sure anybody else in the first would work for me.

I think there are safer edge guys, not better. Phillips is a beast.

I see the LBer I had the Vikings taking is still available.

Maybe the Vikes take the Stanford QB at 23.

Trade up a little and get Paye. Then all out to create two second rounders for guard.

Jamin Davis by W. I often had him available in the 3rd or 4th round on PFF mock draft. He was rated higher but the system wasn't taking him on multiple occasions.
