Watching Kellen Mond video he definitely can win games for us with his legs. I noticed a lot of arm passing. Sometimes he had to do that, but seemed like he did that too much. Good interview. Comes across as Bright and grounded.

KG
Mond has a strong arm and I think with a year or so to sit and learn he may be a really good QB for the Vikes.

How does the board think of Mond as our back up QB next year?

Stepped out for the evening. Just caught up.

Pretty stoked Mond made it to where he did. Same with Davis. The rest I'll need to read up on.

As posted, you have to move Ezra to LG, and he can kick out to LT if needed. Most excited about the line I've been in a long time: Darrisaw/Ezra/Bradbury/Davis/Oneil. Extend Oneill before training camp. We might have some camp space for a vet DE that gets cut. Cut Dozier & Cole, save what $4M. Depth of Hinton, Hill, Udoh is pretty great.

Get a 3rd WR, S, CB, K, TE, RB. Trade 1 4th for a 3rd next year and 1 5th for a 2022 4th. Use 1 4th on a player (WR, S, CB). And use the other 4th to trade down a couple times to get TE, K, RB and any other players Spielman wants. Not as worried about S or CB, we've got next year to pick a player.

Glad I didn't throw in the towel

I say start him. I've seen enough of Cousins to know that isn't going anywhere.

He was passing with his arm? We're gonna have to coach that out of him!

Just glad to know that there is officially a leash for Cousins.

The main ? Is if Chazz is a LB or safety

Really not on anyone’s radar but another 1st teamer.

I see a lot of Kapernick in Mond. Not sure that I hate it either. Really liked him at SF

Yep. Good comparison.

As opposed to using his legs and whole body to do it. You know that.

I think the 3 best QBs in this draft will be:

1) Mills
2) Lance
3) Mond

All the other QBs will be busts. Something weird or freakish will happen with Trevor Lawrence, drugs, a terrible accident, something strange, and his NFL career will be pretty short.

I really like what I see on film with Mond, just continue scoring 50+ points in the NFL, and the Vikes will have a SB win in no time

Get the OL fixed, and we can then have Cousins lead the Vikings to another heartbreaking NFC Championship loss.

I just can't see Cousins ever winning a Super Bowl; sorry.

Is there some game show we can get him to host ? Can we get him interested in becoming a minister? Can we get him interested in another State ? Any other hobbies?

Highest rated player on many boards to start Round 4:

LB Jabril Cox LSU – 6'3 232. Outstanding field range with explosive closing burst; dangerous blitzer; instinctive and reactive; finished college with 26 passes defensed, including nine career interceptions.

We won't take him after taking Surratt and we'd have to burn a pick to move up. He seems to be the big dropper / great 4th rd value someone will get early.

Targets for 4th round:

G Trey Smith, Tennessee – 6'5 1/2 321. Elite size and length for the position; able to throw a sack of bricks at opponent when he punches; can bang and cave and has knock-back pop.

CB Robert Rochell, Central Arkansas – 6'0 193. A freakish athlete with outstanding size, length and explosiveness; Explosive leaper with long arms; Legitimate ball-hawking talent with 12 career takeaways

S Jamar Johnson, Indiana – 6'0 205. Ascending defensive back offering coverage and positional versatility; impressive instincts and ball skills; starting experience at cb and safety; field intelligence to line up defense.

Rounds 5

DT Jay Tufele, USC – 6-2 305. Three-technique who parlays high energy with explosive brute strength to make his mark on the game; Hyper-charged, athleticism to convert from bull-rusher into mayhem-bringer.

WR Austin Watkins, UAB – 6'1 2/2 207. Big wideout with above-average hands, athletic ability and physicality; fearless working into traffic.

Round 6

TE Briley Moore-McKinney, Kansas State – 6'4 240. Offers up some potential as both a run blocker and pass catcher; committed aggression into block fits; above-average release quickness into routes; strong hands.

From highlight films, it looks like the Vikes should have just stuck to drafting offense all night.

This Chazz guy doesn't look like much on film, but then again, neither did Jefferson.

Patrick Jones II looks like a poor man's Clowney, a pretty poor one. He looks more like a LBer than a DE.

Good stuff Tom, CB Robert Rochell would be an intriguing option. TE Briley Moore-McKinney seems like nice depth/development.

Any speedy WRs left? Raw and athletic?

I think you move Cleveland to his best spot, LT.

Put Darrisaw at LG.

So you get:

Cleveland/Darrisaw/Bradbury/Davis/O'Neill

I thought Jefferson looked incredible on Film.

I'm a bit surprised Davis lasted this long.

He was being sold as the best G in the country entering this past season

Ya, in most mocks, at least the early ones, I saw him going late first or early second.

kiper knocked him down his big board several weeks back...it seems like it's just because he's a guard and wasn't incredibly impressed....

"Davis' fall is a bit more confusing. Starting at right guard for the Buckeyes for a second straight season, Davis followed up his consensus All-American performance in 2019 with a unanimous All-American year in 2020. He was once again the best player on the Scarlet and Gray's offensive line and was named the Rimington–Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Wyatt Davis I think is in that second, third round discission as well," Kiper said. "Solid player all the way around. Guards are going to get pushed down automatically unless they’re super elite like a Quenton Nelson was when he came out of Notre Dame and went in the top 10. But I think Wyatt Davis, second round, at worst third. I think Shaun Wade probably second, at worst third for him."

New #Vikings Wyatt Davis played right guard at Ohio State but says he can play every spot on the line and would be "more than willing" to switch sides if they wanted him on the left.

#Vikings draftee Wyatt Davis played right guard at Ohio State. Last year, he was first-team All-American; Rimington-Pace Big Ten OL of the Year; First Team All-Big Ten; Team captain

I like that kind of attitude

the complete opposite of where brown jr was headed....

Hey guys thru hiking the Appalachian trail so I've been out of touch for awhile. Love the backup QB selection. So far no head scratchers, I like it.

How does the board think of Mond as our back up QB next year?

Kapernick is my comparison
Davis dropping due to knee but is a leader.
Remember Chazz has the speed to play safety and is smart and good on pass def. Might be our safety.

i see chazz as a possible barr replacement next season - imo we need more of a thumper as the 3rd lb in our base package...i thought that dye was a bit of a disappointment last season...chazz seems like a better project than dye....

i sure hope davis has an anchor - elflein put me off of ohio state guards....

I think very little of our depth behind Cousins so ill be very disappointed if he's not #2. Its a low bar but saying that...I hope he shines.

absolutely he should be the backup - don't want to have three qb's on the final 53....
