Yes. I saw that. I even quoted it in my response to you.

Again, the team is not the players. It's the franchise.

The players are only out their salaries for the games. They don't also need to make up for lost concessions, parking and TV revenue.

I'm not seeing what I thought I'd seen earlier about the forfeiting team having to pay the opponents salaries and make the other team whole. Either I misread it or it was reported in error. I have to say, the NFL has impressed me in their strong disposition regarding vaccination. I wish more organizations, especially hospitals, universities, and entertainment establishments would come out as strongly.

Players aren't being forced into getting the vaccine, but neither are they being coddled in their illusions about the safety and efficacy of vaccination.

Yeah Elliot was blabbing about players being "forced" to. Dumbass, although he got the shot even after having COVID.

Let the unvaccinated players pay for everything!

Legally I doubt they can.

But they can make it extremely difficult on people who don't.

Its like here in Vegas. If you're a card dealer or a stripper you don't HAVE to get a vaccination. But if you don't, you need to be tested before every shift. And that's on your dime.

I know people who have caught worse things than COVID from strippers...

Many U.S. universities (I'll guess half) are now requiring both students and employees to be vaccinated by the beginning of the fall semester/quarter. The plan at many places is for 100% in-person classes in the fall -- this would be problematic if some were not vaccinated given the close quarters in many classrooms. College students generally dislike Zoom/remote classes, so there has been a big push for in-person classes to resume as soon as it is feasible.

Name the original NFL teams (from 1969) that now reside in the AFC.

Although the AFC teams quickly decided on a divisional alignment along mostly geographic lines, the 13 NFC owners had trouble deciding which teams would play in which divisions. Many NFC teams were attempting to avoid placement in a division with the Cowboys and/or the Vikings, and were trying to angle their way into the same division as the Saints, the weakest team in professional football at the time. The 49ers and Rams, both in California, were guaranteed to be in the same division as the only NFC teams west of the Rocky Mountains. One early proposal would have put the two California teams together with the three Northeast teams—the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins—reminiscent of the Western Conference's Coastal Division which had put L.A. and S.F. together with Baltimore and Atlanta from 1967 to 1969. The final five proposals were as follows:

PLAN 1: East: NYG, PHI, WAS, ATL, MIN; Central: CHI, GB, DET, NO; West: LA, SF, DAL, STL.

PLAN 2: East: NYG, PHI, WAS, MIN; Central: ATL, DAL, NO, STL; West: LA, SF, CHI, GB, DET.

PLAN 3: East: NYG, PHI, WAS, DAL, STL: Central: CHI, GB, DET, MIN; West: LA, SF, ATL, NO.

PLAN 4: East: NYG, PHI, WAS, STL, MIN; Central: CHI, GB, DET, ATL; West: LA, SF, DAL, NO.

PLAN 5: East: NYG, PHI, WAS, DET, MIN; Central: CHI, GB, DAL, STL; West: LA, SF, ATL, NO.[31]

These five combinations were written up on slips of paper, sealed into envelopes and put into a fish bowl[32] (other sources say a flower vase), and the official NFC alignment—Plan 3—was pulled out by Rozelle's secretary, Thelma Elkjer.[33] Of the five plans considered, the one that was put into effect was the only one which had Minnesota remaining in the Central Division and Dallas playing in the Eastern Division. This preserved the Vikings' place with geographical rivals Chicago, Detroit, and Green Bay, and the Cowboys' rivalries with the Redskins, Eagles and Giants. It also was the only one of the final five proposals in which there were no warm weather cities in the Central Division. More controversially, the new alignment put both of the two newest NFC franchises, the Saints and Falcons from the Deep South, with the 49ers and Rams.

Dede Westbrook has this on his Snapchat [pic at Viking facility] after posting on his Instagram story earlier today he was in Minneapolis. Westbrook’s relationship with #Vikings WRs coach Keenan McCardell dates back to their time in Jacksonville together.

Good for Zim.

Absolutely. Zim has a lot a stake here. He isn't going to suffer some fool who doesn't want to get vaccinated and risk an outbreak.

According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, Vikings’ offensive line coach Rick Dennison has been fired by the team for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Assistant offensive line coach Phil Rauscher will be promoted to replace Dennison, with Auburn University special teams analyst Ben Steele brought in as his assistant.

Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet
The #Vikings are working out former #Jaguars speedy WR DeDe Westbrook tomorrow, source said, as Westbrook indicated on Instagram. He has three teams interested, but will likely sign in Minnesota if all goes well. The familiarity with former Jax WRs coach Keenan McCardell helps.

I think I saw that he could still "coach" remotely, but obviously no one would have an interest in that on a team.

Right. He could be demoted to a "Tier 2" or "Zoom" coach. But not in his current capacity.

And I'm sure the dumbshit's rationale for not getting a shot boils down to .... Wah, I don't want to get vaccinated.

As luck would have it the worst offensive line coach in the NFL gets fired for being an Anti-vaxer, instead of being totally incompetent, as he should have,

Oh happy firing day…

I doubt this firing will have much (if any) negative effect on the Vikings performance this season. Heck there's probably an OK chance that it HELPS a bit. In 2020 the dude was like 'Let's start Dozier and Elflien. Elf's hurt? Put Samia in.'

Source said Dennison has not been fired at this point. It’s very possible that’s where things end up, if the sides remain at an impasse on vaccination, but he remains with the team as of now.
