ORIGINAL: Bill Jandro It feels like were going in to each game with one arm tied behind are back. Between Zimmers coaching methods and our continued lack of a reliable kicking game it's not surprising we come up short in close games. And yet, according to some, we should be on track for an undefeated season – we didn't really lose the first two games ... Imagine if we had a third arm or even just a very long proboscis ... a long tubular sucking mouthpart ... to recover Cook's fumble ... we'd be better than undefeated in theory. Cook's fumble that really wasn't. But let's be clear here. Even if we didn't fumble there we would have had to count on someone who this week missed a game winning 37 yard FG to hit a game winning 37 or so yard FG to win in Cincy. Playcalling needs some work, but we have a guy just now will be calling his third game of his career. And from what I can see he's not terrible, but needs to work on making adjustments in game. and making sure he's calling plays to get to the sticks and not having an option short of the sticks that has no chance of getting there. For years they've all sat around and watched Percy Harvin gain 12 out of some LOS bubble screen nonsense and think 'there's the answer to our short game'. They forget Harvin always made the first guy miss, and for most of his life he was the best player on the field. Or the QB needs to take some calculated risks and fire the ball into a small window or put it where the only the receiver can get it. Or chuck it deep and if it's picked off its as good as a punt.

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!
