I wouldn't worry a ton about our run defense based on what I saw last night. Indy has one of the better offensive lines in football.

I don't bitch and complain about Zimmer as much as most but this line does give me an opportunity to say: Dude, check your ego at the door and get a clock management asst to shadow you on the sidelines.

i think that our defense is going to be solid with all the starters playing - wtf is with barr?...zimmer should have played every 1st stringer that was healthy at least two series on Saturday....

dantzler buffed up and gained some weight this offseason - i wonder if that's affecting his mobility and coverage skills....

i really think that this is the season that zimmer is going to have let kubiak keep the pedal to the metal with this offense - score as many points as we can for 60 minutes....

I would love to see Kubiak add new wrinkles and open up the offense but IMO that will never happen with a Zimmer head coached offense.

All he wants offensively is balance and efficiency ... to eat as much clock as possible so his defense can stay fresh and be at its most effective – to stifle the opposing team's offensive efficiency. My understanding is, a quick strike offense requires more risk which also goes against Zimmer's grain. (and we would need a QB that was good at sandlot ball which we don't have).

I think we should start giving Davis reps at C. Bradbury is looking like the weak link on the interior.

It wouldn't be too difficult to imagine Davis being one of their best 2-3 interior O-linemen and Bradbury the worst of the starting interior linemen. So, yeah, makes sense.

Davis got a few reps at C early in camp, if I remember right.

Not enough for emergency consideration.

If Cole is not horrible at C, I would focus on Davis being a swing G this season ...

If Darrisaw makes it back ... even as just a backup ... we at least have him and Brandel backing up OT. There's nothing besides Davis behind Cleveland and Udoh. Nothing.

Spielman can ill afford another black eye with a 1st rd pick. let's look at the math.

Hughes-bust
Gladney-bust
Jefferson-Score
Bradbury-looking like a bust
Darrisaw-looking like damaged goods

Zim/spiel will play Bustberry as a starter for at least 2 more seasons (including this one) so I think we're stuck with him vs playing the 5 best players oline wise

Cousins had a very good second half last year improvising and picking up first downs with his feet.

[edit]

I agree and hope that he continues his improvement in that area. It would help our offense immensely.
Stating what can obviously be seen with your eyes only confuses people who rely solely on stats though,
so, don't expect to convince the 'I read stats but never really watch many games' crowd.

In other words, the people who are into the NFL strictly for fantasy football.

And the ones that claim to know football and whether player X is any good because they saw a tweet
or a blog post from a self-proclaimed "expert".

Sure ... let's ignore outside opinion because only posters in here have any insight into the team.

Did I say to ignore all outside opinions?

Left tackle looks like an issue without Christian Darrisaw:

Blake Brandel: 25.1 pass blocking grade, 5 pressures allowed
Rashod Hill: 18.6 pass blocking grade, 1 sack allowed

What the hell are they thinking going into the season with an injured rookie and 2 low end backups, at best, for the most important position on the line?
This season is looking more and more like it could go sideways in real big hurry.

Cole had a lot of problems snapping the ball when in the shotgun at AZ.

Yup. We have to play 10 on 11 thanks to our poor choices at left tackle that can't handle one on one play.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Monday morning that the Vikings are bringing in renowned epidemiologist and infectious disease expert Dr. Michael Osterholm to speak to the team today, per sources informed of the situation.

Minnesota's vaccination rate among players has lagged behind other NFL teams. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is among the most high-profile players in the NFL not to be vaccinated. Minnesota's QB room has already dealt with missing time due to a COVID-19 case for rookie Kellen Mond.

Coach Mike Zimmer has been vocal about his frustration regarding his team's status related to the vaccine.

Players like Cousins have repeatedly stated that they are doing their own research regarding the vaccine. To aid that process, the Vikings will bring in an expert to talk to the players in hopes of convincing the holdouts that the vaccine is safe and will help the team better navigate the 2021 season without restrictions that come from not getting the shot.

It isn't always that...they have been cursed by injuries. (Examples: Kalil, Loadholt, Fusco, Sullivan, Harris---just to name a few) Darrisaw was supposed to be healthy....and this was a minor procedure.

Probably be better off bringing in multiple high level religious leaders that also think vaccines are a good idea.

Its obvious that science isn't enough.

I wonder if Kirky ever got the normal vaccines as a child?

His father appears to be quite a wacko.

Not getting vaccines works great, provided everybody else in the world does get them.

An easy signing that won't move the needle. Instead, Spielman needs to earn his $ and get Russell Okung signed ASAP!

Agreed. Hill is a bum and Darrisaw hasn't even been healthy enough to practice.
