While none of these guys are on Thuney's level, we can certainly find a major upgrade to Dozier at significantly less than $16 mil a year.

That Elflein signing may have set the bar WAY higher than it should have been. Unless teams start running out of money.

Yes they can....times the 12 million by 3. I wouldn't be surprised to see Stephen cut (Another 3.5 million). You spread the signing bonus over years of contract. So Thuney 10 million signing bonus over 5 years..you could make it easily under 4-5 million cap hit.

Guys are going to be looking for big signing bonuses. Thuney will be looking at minimum 30M on a signing bonus.

The stuff you are posting shows we are in the mix for several player. "In the mix" meaning the faxed offer went through.

So there is no restraint on Spielman's part.

The restraint is being REJECTED and the offers LAUGHED at.

And I believe RS has to sign players and still be below the cap (not sure on this for today onward). So the restraint is built in, probably offering a pittance.

Mahomes has a 7M cap hit for 2021.

Then it is anywhere from 35-52M for the remainder of his contract.
