Multiple Sources tell me the Minnesota #Vikings are closing a deal with iOL Joe Thuney

I won't say who wrote this on Twitter earlier, but it just goes to show that everything should be taken with a grain of salt until it is more clear. Lots of speculation.

Some are in the know and many are not. There’s also the copy/pasters who try to make it look like they are ‘breaking news’

Right. If someone like Adam Schefter breaks with the news it's more credible.

- Lane Taylor
- Austin Blythe
- Richie Incognito
- Nick Easton
- James Carpenter

Pat Elflein's pass block win rate at guard was 86.5% in 2020 -- that would have ranked 66th out of 71 players had he qualified.

His PBWR at guard in 2019 was slightly lower, 85.9%.

Similar story with run block win rate.

10 minutes to go.. Vikings looking at Defensive Tackles Shelby Harris, Kawann Short.. CB William Jackson Shaquill Griffin.. and do I dare say it? OG Joe Thuney

(Rick Sosa on Twitter)

bring thuney in and show him the place...no team can compete with the facilities we've got....

I don't think that goes as far as you think it does. Nice perk, but not the meat.

Maybe it would help if zimmer let them turn on the fireplace or put something on the 80 flat screens.

New #Vikings defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson has played a variety of spots on the defensive line before, including defensive end, before being nose tackle last two years for Giants.

We'll see if #Vikings are looking at Dalvin Tomlinson as a three-technique defensive tackle. As it is, the move might not be good news for Shamar Stephen, who remains under contract, and Jaleel Johnson, a free agent. It's been believed regardless that Johnson likely won't return

He looks like a solid player... I think he may actually be better at 3T than nose from what I've read and saw on youtube.

That being said, if we were going to go defense... would have preferred Shaquille Griffin, Lawson or Hendrickson.

All three of my preferences might be too expensive though.

I was thinking the same thing.

I like to go to Walterfootball.com to see their FA grades. I was expecting a C- or D+ grade.

They gave it an A+. So they must think he can be a good 3tech.

I hope I have the opportunity to come in here and say I was insanely wrong about Tomlinson, but adding an additional NT at $11mil per, and passing on Kevin Zeitler at $7.3 makes absolutely no sense to me!

Again I hope I’m wayyyyy off.

I love the Tomlinson signing. We’re going to have our Williams Wall part two. The guy was a team captain, never missed a game in 4 years, and never ranked lower than a 75 per PFF.

Check out this film breakdown:
https://youtu.be/BIlIrrI-jZI

Guard and 3T DT we’re our top two priorities. One down, one to go.

Sounds like we are pushing to re-sign Anthony Harris.

Must have dropped out of Top CB sweepstakes.

If he can play 3T effectively, it probably makes him a 3 down player, will provide some run stopping flexibility situationally on 3rd down. He played an entire season at DE, I'm guessing in a 34 scheme, which pretty much equates to a 3T in a 43 scheme. He may have been playing out of position at NT in NY, similar to what the Vikings found themselves in 2020 season. That's my purple shades outlook.

Hope he's ready for a big pay cut. As much as he was 'just a body' out there I'd pass

One of the day's best numbers: 658, the combined weight of the #Vikings' starting defensive tackles as Dalvin Tomlinson (318 pounds) joins Michael Pierce (340), who's back from his opt-out. Two massive humans to eat up blocks and let Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks run free.

Barr and Kendricks are going to have a monster season if they can stay healthy. The Vikings still need to address their pass rush, though.

i think/hope we're still going after griffen...i could live with; hunter, wonnum, weatherly, willekes - griffen...and perhaps a new kid in this year's draft....

plus, if we could develop watts and lynch in the middle that would be very helpful....

i always considered rashod hill a good backup tackle, but i'm getting a feeling that this season spielman sees him as a starting guard....
