The only obvious way to lessen his ridiculous cap hit is a re-nogotiated contract..

But if you had a GUARANTEED 45 million dollars… on top of the millions you have a.ready banked. What would you do?

Does Cusins strike you as a “ what’s best for the team” guy?

Mr. Throw it into the stands or out of the endzone in crunch time is not what I call a team friendly, smart, QB.

Adequate.

Impressive?
No.

He likes KOC..

big deal..

Rework that boat anchor contract and start shopping him around..

JMO

Do you think some of it was the Zimmer effect? The only reason he has a 45 million cap is because they restructured and moved money around. Do it again.

Personally, I eat his contact this next season and let him go…

His plateau is adequate..

I want elite, and he is not it..

He’s been in the league going on ten years..

1-3 in playoffs..

It took a miracle for his one playoff win..

I think you don't change the offense for a year and see what you have....Defense is what needs a ton of work.

Zimmer also lost on a 23 yard miss.

Yes. In a game we dominated and still lost. That game should've never gone down to a fg. But Zimmer is happy to kick fgs. Should have won still no doubt. Far too many kickers sucked under the Zimmer regime for it to be a coincidence however.

From OC's signing through to FA we're only going to hear pro Kirk things. As to strengthen our position.

I want our HC to want his choice of QB's and a fresh start...

It's a good point. It would be nice to get some useful intelligence about the new regime's view towards Cousins but it won't happen until the day he gets traded or extended or we draft QB with a first in the April draft.

I do believe hiring Harbaugh would have been a sure sign of wanting quicker gratification, using Cousins and what's already here, and loading up again this offseason with spare veteran parts to try and shortcut our way to competitiveness ... I don't think you bring Harbaugh in for a rebuild.

Cousins might be a good bridge for one or two years, I can't image making such a low key worker bee type the leader of your franchise for years to come.

God the pro bowl is a joke.

I did enjoy this tweet though, which was under my 13 second Pro Bowl attention limit:

The offense was horribly coached last year and top 10....defense was 30th.

Zone Coverage talked about just scheme wise how each game last year could have been easier for J Jefferson and Cousins. LA Rams made games easy for Kupp by putting him in the slot 67% of the time on 1st and 2nd downs and throwing to him.....J Jefferson 23% in the slot; about 1/3 KJ Osborne.

Vikings expected to hire Broncos running backs coach Curtis Modkins as their run-game coordinator/RBs coach, per source. Denver’s running game was stout last year.

You could also argue Kubiak was superb last year having to navigate Zimmer's and Cousins' shortcomings. Denver probably thinks so.

I myself would not argue that but it holds as much weight as saying the coaching sucked but the offense was top ten.

The Vikings are hiring former Colts GM Ryan Grigson to a senior personnel role, according to NFL Network.
The 49-year-old was Indy's GM from 2012-16 and had been with the Browns for the past two years as an advisor. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah adds someone with GM experience.

Ed Donatell favorite to be Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator on Kevin O'Connell's staff, sources say

Ed Donatell has emerged as the favorite to fill the Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator role, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano.

A deal hasn't been agreed upon but the sides are talking and working on a potential deal, the sources said.

The Vikings are expected to hire Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell as their new head coach after Super Bowl LVI, sources have told ESPN. With Donatell, O'Connell will have a coordinator with 31 years of NFL coaching experience leading his defense.

The Vikings are not permitted to announce O'Connell's hiring until after the completion of the Super Bowl because his team is still playing.

It was expected that Donatell would be joining Pete Carroll's staff with the Seattle Seahawks, but now Seattle is bracing to lose him.

The 65-year-old Donatell has 10 seasons worth of experience as an NFL defensive coordinator, including the past three on former Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio's staff. He also was the University of Washington's defensive coordinator in 2008.

The Broncos' defense finished eighth in the NFL in yards allowed (5,544) and third in points allowed (322) this season under Donatell.

Does Mr. Smith realize that JJ currently plays in a climate controlled setting for all of his home games?
