Boy I'm sure glad they don't have some videos of me from my finer moments - what would the world think?

Yea one nice thing being alive and stupid in the 70’s and 80’s..

No video evidence of the half brained drunken stuff I did in my teens and 20’s

If feel Cousins was much safer with Harbaugh.

I want to trade Cousins and move up for Pickett.

Another one from north Atlanta. Pretty strong area for prep football, and lots of good quarterbacks in recent years (Trevor Lawrence, Davis Mills) including a couple with Vikings connections (Taylor Heineke, Kyle Sloter).

Even though this isn't a strong QB class they're saying it'll be exciting times around here if we move Cousins.

Picking 12th and there's 3 that have been promoted here....we'd be in great position to grab one.

Seriously, who doesn't want at least one season with Cousins, O'Connell and the offense we have before we venture into the land of the unknown?

Come on! If nothing else I want to see Cousins at least one year with this team and without Zimmer's influence

Part of me wants to see a Cousins year without Zim, it would probably mean a great regular season followed by a disappointing post season.

A greater part of me feels it is another wasted year for JJ and the future QB,
JJ needs to get used to the young QB that will get him a ring.

Its definitely a ‘be careful what you ask for’ moment. Cousins would ensure the offense operates similar to last year, maybe better … so looking forward to a draft choice starter -or- journeyman QB + deat choice or Mond (plus any draft capital for moving Cousins) is looking down the barrel of a throttled back offense.

To Marty’s point above, if you really believe that Cousins is NOT a big game QB … not sure how you can’t view him that way … you have to eat the buckshot and move on as quickly as possible. As painful as it might be in 2022.

After strong Senior Bowl week, we might have to move up to get him.

Similar? Maybe? Isn't it a given with Zimmer out of the way it takes similar and maybe out of the equation?

As to Marty's flame out in the playoffs pessimistic view? Come on! That's weak - who is going to know about that with almost all variables changed (except the color of the uniform - oh know, maybe that was the wrong analogy

JJ's done with year two. AT will be looking at retirement soon. Tick tock

- but like Harbaugh, I'll roll with whatever - but my moneys is on We're sticking with an above avg QB and giving it a shot (I'll go as high as $100)

You said it yourself, 'almost all variables changed'.

Will what we add zero out and improve on Zimmer? Sure, that's my expectation but its no given. At the very least, it might take time for a new HC, coaching staff and players to coalesce. We took the risk on the new guy, so hopefully O'Connell is who we think he is. That's my expectation but its no given either.

That's not pessimism, its not 'sitting crossed legged on the floor handing out daisies' optimism either.

Surprised at the Pickett love on here. He scares me in that he has a low ceiling IMO. Derek Carr type ceiling.

I'd rather swing for the fences (Corral or Willis... I like Corral better, his footwork in the pocket is elite). They both have concerns, obviously.... but a much higher ceiling (in my estimation) than Pickett.

4 years isn't all that long ago. What is frightening for some, is KO sounds a little like KC, and this probably also means we're stuck with KC.

Doesn't even rhyme.

I'm a Vikings fan. O'Connell might decide to join the French Foreign Legion after the SB game.

And just to be clear, I'm not accusing anybody of 'sitting crossed legged on the floor handing out daisies' optimism ... that's my view of an extreme ... with negative trolling on the other end of the spectrum.

I am on the positive side of that spectrum, I have a very good feeling about where we stand compared to the day before Spielman and Zimmer got canned. With a lot of work to do.

The second paragraph sums up how I feel pretty well.
I was a big Zimmer fan but feel his last year or so he gave the tough-guy wrestling coach approach a bad name

Matthew Stafford raises KC's trade value:

https://vikingsterritory.com/2022/general-news/the-price-tag-for-a-kirk-cousins-trade-just-went-way-up

This is the perfect time to trade KC, thankfully he put up nice stats to where a few teams might think he can be a final piece.

Even more interesting is the link to Wade Phillips Twitter:

Vikings NFL. Offense-12th. Defense-30th

https://vikingsterritory.com/2022/general-news/oconnells-upcoming-choice-at-defensive-coordinator-is-humongous

I'd take either Fangio or Phillips as DC in a second.

Another good nugget for O'Connell:

NFL Teams in 2021 ran the 11 personnel package (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR) on average at 61%.
The 2 highest teams?

1. LA Rams - 85%
2. Bengals - 77%

28. Vikings - 47%

https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/nfl-stats/personnel-groupings/offense/offensive-personnel-grouping-frequency-2021/
