There is no guarantee that Carlson would kick the same for Minnesota.

In fact, I think he would have continued to flounder.

It's a reflection of the head coach, his nervousness carries over into the kicker. Harbaugh is a steady hand, and he has won a SB.

It's too bad we didn't just flush Childress and hire Mike Tomlinwestchesterson as our coach. We'd have a title.

What about the Patriots defensive coordinator as the Vikings next HC ? Not even sure who it is, is it Covington ?

The Patriots have many times gotten some great defense from December onward, maybe this guy is learning a few things from Belichick ?

I find it interesting the national media labeled the Vikings' wins over GB and Pittsburgh as "outlasting", as though the Vikings beat the team that should have won.

When is the last time a Vikings' opponent was said to 'outlast' the Vikings ?

Cousins after a tremendous start to the year is declining week to week. Had a 63.4 passer rating last night which is his lowest since week #2 of last season. Missing Thielen is certainly part of it.
I've said for years that our OL is our biggest weakness, but we need Kirk to start improving again or it could get real ugly in our remaining games.

Simply not true. Not counting Pitts where as you say Thielen was out, here is the combined differential over his season average shown as 103.5 (for simplicity the Pitts game is part of his average, but it doesn't affect the net totals differently):

Games 1-6: +10
Games 7-12: +20
Games 9-12 (last 4): +34

In fact, his best four game stretch when compared to his season average is games 9-12. QBR-wise, he is getting better.

A better thing to say is Cousins is much worse in the second half of the games:

1st half: 16-0 TD-Int, 123.4
2nd half: 6-3 TD-Int, 88.2

Speaking of O line, don’t look now but for the exception of Udoh at LT (which is temporary) our O line is actually starting to gel and produce.

Ok. so It's clear

Brad H would blow a first round pick for a Kicker.

Trekgeekscott would NOT.

Anyone else want to chime in?

I wouldn't blow a first round pick. Buuut, not that there would be anything wrong with that.

This one caught me off guard - some funny sh*t, mon

I’ve been on the inter webs…

Tomlinson is getting props for making the adjustments needed to shut down the Vikings in the third, taking advantage of cousins turnovers, and almost pulling off the tie.. after a horrible start…

The fact that their defense is a shell.. is taken as a case of some bad choices by management on players and injury….

Tomlinson is in little danger of losing his job..

Fn Rapelesburger is a fricken statute and thier center is unable to snap a ball on time or with any consistency..

We beat a bad team., just barely..

We have no business being in the playoff hunt.

Period.

Sure we do. And if we qualify for the seventh seed we deserve to be in the playoffs.

I want to see it ... bad - or you know, wait till Aug., again

Quote of the night from #Vikings HC Mike Zimmer:

"That team that played in the 1st half for us was pretty darn good, and I think could probably beat anybody. That team that played in the 2nd half, um, probably could get beat by anybody.”

Sums up the 2021 Minnesota Vikings.

i'm with you...we might be schizophrenic, and emotionally grinding for the fans, but we've come within a muffed play of beating some of the best teams in the league....

i realize it's an overused expression, but 'nobody is going to want to play the vikings in the playoffs'....

this season we have losses that i don't ever want to remember, and victories that i don't ever want to remember...i'm definitely in the 'blow it all up this offseason' camp, but still, a little more insanity come mid-january would suit me fine....

IMO; cousins' failures in the 2nd half is more zimmer than cousins....

The only reason for putting most of the blame on Zimmer is as an excuse for Cousins and the rest of the team ... and I don't think that's what you are trying to do.

But it's a mistake to just blame Zimmer ... although he's the sentimental favorite ...

That kind of near-historical collapse is on everybody ... including Cousins, Jefferson and even Cook second half. Mostly defense but offense too. Same with the Lions game, same with the season.

Every game has its mini-collapses and windows flung open for our opponents. Its as if we were training for the Fred Sanford big one on Thursday.

make no mistake, i want cousins gone next season - i would gladly take kellen mond to start in 2022...but zimmer is just so bad at every aspect of head coaching it's hard for me to get beyond him to blame anyone else...it's at a point where zimmer doesn't do anything well...or, good, as he would say....

I want cousins here, an improved OL and a defense that can cover the pass.

That'll do it

Only 2 scenarios where I would be all right with Zimmer coming back next year:

1) Super Bowl win
2) Defeating the Packers in the playoffs

another year of zimmer would be the ultimate bummer...i don't think that i could take it...the guy is such an imbecile - and he has zero football-sense left...i really think that he's completely lost it, and does nothing but shoot from the hip with no guts whatsoever...how could a person that has spent his entire life in the game of american football be so lost at the end of each half of a game?....

How much better would this team be if it corrected one thing, like a personal assistant to the head coach whose only job would be to handle game-time mgn?

- of course that ain't going to happen because of ego ... ego, the inability to change, admit faults, is the biggest reason I don't care if Zim gets the boot - which I'm sure is more likely to happen than not.
