It kind of sounds like it's a good thing we banked some points early. They have been saying how deep we are, the next month or so will prove that out one way of the other. Top line centers are so hard to find, and when we really only have one on the roster it makes it even tougher. Hoping somebody steps up and helps fill that void with Ekker out.

It sounds like the NHL will make sure this outside game will go on no matter what, so yes, I guess there is a game tonight.
Dealing with Covid, injuries, and now possibly frostbite from playing in sub zero temps makes little sense to me but the show must go on so they say.......

Tied at 1-1 after the first period and looked like a team that hasn't played a game in 2 weeks, go figure.
The ice looked pretty good, but the puck looked like it was bouncing a lot in that -8 degree cold.

We look cold and uninterested in playing hockey while the Blues kick our ass's and are now up 4-1 in the 2nd period.....I'm done watching this joke of a hockey game.
In my eyes the Winter Classic is a huge fail for the NHL.

What a couple of fair whether hosers. I may have wished that I turned it off after 2, but I stuck it out to the bitter end. They looked like a team that hadn't played in 2 weeks. They also clearly missed Ek, Spurgeon and Brodin. Not happy that nobody was brought up to fill the Erickson Ek void. Gadreau and Rask are just not acceptable options.

Gaudreau on the PP while guys with some actual goal scoring skills like Pitlick sits on the bench makes absolutely no sense.
BB had his vets that played no matter what and Evason has his guys from his AHL days....same old, same old, just a different cast.
That 2nd period last night was a total embarrassment, and they didn't deserve their fans to stick with them with that kind of effort.

Gaudreau with a 7 career goals total on the PP still boggles my mind!

Rossi finally called up. Should have been done before the winter classic. Rolling with Gaudreau and Rask on the top 3 lines was ridiculous.

I heard earlier that Rask has been put on waivers today......

Russo:

Let's try that again

Evason says Rossi and Boldy will be on the power play “because our power play has sucked”

Bye bye Rask!!
He looked like he had arthritic legs in the Winter Classic. So about normal.
Dean is a slow learner sometimes with his lines, not a good game to be a dunce about it
in front of all those frozen fans.

With all that Rossi went through I'm impressed that he has recovered this well this quickly.

Finland

Yep. Sorry I forgot to check answers. I would guess at least 9 out of 10 Americans would think it was the Soviets or the Russians.

hockey trivia question. Who did team USA beat to win the gold medal at the 1980 Olympics? I'm guessing most of you will know. Don't cheat and Google it.

I knew.

I know we got knowledgeable fans here.

It's really fun to watch a garbage team like the Bruins unable to compete with the Wild.

Really huge win. Hopefully KK is ok. Faligno is so important to our success it’s crazy. He sets such a tone.

Had to hold my breath for that last minute, but the end was great. It'll be infuriating if Kirill is badly injured. That was a blatant boarding and a two minute penalty isn't nearly enough compensation.

The hit on Kaprizov just pisses me off. Fredrick skated past the puck to crush Kaprizov who was already going down. Hopefully the league will issue a suspension. In years past, these reviews have ultimately re-enforced open season on Wild players, but the league doesn't want its budding superstars injured on dirty hits.

Kudos to Kulikov for jumping head long into an ass kicking. It's not whether you win or lose the fight in that situation. It's that you jump in and stand up for your teammate. We all knew Foligno was going to lump that asshole Fredrick up at some point.

Matt Boldy is a HOCKEY PLAYER! Not just size and skill. The kid's understanding of the game is off the charts. He has an incredibly polished game for someone his age.

It was a badly needed win. Let's just hope Kaprizov's injury looked worse than it really is.

That was a cheap shot, couldn't believe it only got 2 minutes and couldn't believe commentators for the game or the studio didn't make more of it.

I knew he'd get a visit from Foligno, I was calling for one after what Frederick tried to pull with Zuccarello earlier. Too bad the wimp "fell" instead of taking the ass whooping he deserved.
