Would you take what Rick would of ended up with players, people? Or are you ok with what we have ... at this time?

This is Kwesi's first rodeo. He got bucked off real quick but jumped back on and settled down.

Even so ... UNTIL we have some distance to see how these players turn out (because that's all that matters) the 2022 draft is about him losing the first round. to the Lions.

Good one!

Vikings take a RB.
Sounds like a good value.

Pre-Draft Analysis
Chandler is explosive yet doesn't need to gear down to maneuver through tight spaces. He is high-cut with a lean frame but runs behind his pads and shows surprisingly good contact balance. He's a hands catcher with good upside as a receiver. Chandler shows good awareness, takes quality angles and puts his face in the fire in pass pro. -- Steve Muench

Unless they think they can trade Mattison for something... hard to like this pick with Cook, Mattison, Kene all in the stable.

Any player who plays at all at this point in the draft isn't a wasted pick. This guy seems real good for this late in the draft.

I like the pick.

Not sure we need one of the most expensive RBs in football ... as good as he is ...

If we had another decent RB besides Mattison ... I would consider moving Cook for a pick (for next years draft) and extra JJ money. [After we know we have another good RB besides Mattison]

Kene doesn't look RB natural to me at all. great on KRs but not sure that is enough ... maybe O'Connell can turn him into a gadget guy ...

Very fast. 4.38 official combine time.
NFL.Com had him as the 68th best player in this years draft.

Our scouting department has done an excellent job on RB's for years.

I wouldn't be surprised if they convert Chandler to WR.

cooks contract was designed to be terminated next year...mattison is in his fourth year, so he could be leaving, too....

I've made this observation too. He almost looks uncomfortable lining up in the backfield. He's excellent as a KR specialist, but he doesn't strike me as a natural RB.

I am surprised we haven't grabbed a TE.

Calceterra 6'4 241 ran a 4.62 at combine ... quality athlete with ball skills

Has concussion issues so he meets our medical standard.

Detroit's GM pretty well acknowledged that they were surprised at how little Kwesi asked for when the Lions called and they jumped on it. Regardless of what the charts say, KAM could have gotten more.

Someone else referenced this. Do you know where I can find the quote from the GM?

"When we talked about trading up 12, we expected the Vikings to demand at least a first, and we were ready to pay that because we wanted our guy. When they said all they wanted was a swap of seconds and our third rounder Dan started jumping for joy. Those offers only happen once and a while so we had to jump at that." - Lions GM Brad Holmes

Again, the trade was not a disaster, but they clearly could have gotten more. I think KAM learned his lesson because he has done pretty well since.

Where did it come from, though? I can't find it anywhere in the GM's comments or reporting from credible sources. It just doesn't sound like something a GM says about another GM, and the graphic I saw came from Facebook, it looked like. Not saying you made it up, obviously, or that it definitely wasn't said, but I can't find it and it has a bad whiff.

No, not really. I followed him because of playing college Fantasy Football. I happen to take flyer on him as I started looking at some college RBs, and watched him throughout the season. He did not disappoint. In my opinion, I would have taken him over any other college back I've seen.

Can catch and run. An Absolute Stud and a steal for the Vikings.
