I wouldn't conclude we're going to win or lose any game at this point.

This! Enjoy the wins and let's see what happens. That defense is the worst I've seen in quite some time but they seem to step up at the end in the close games. It almost leads me to conclude that it's scheme and how we're lining up. Maybe hoping for mistakes instead of forcing them or something. I wouldn't miss Donnashell that's for sure. Great win though and very entertaining game. JJ is unreal!

True. The O has it's lapses, sometimes extended. But the pass D is a mostly consistent mess. The sacks last night were very timely though. Weird.

I think as KOC matures he can shed fossils like Donnatell. He IMO was the obligatory veteran, seen-it-all wise sage to help KOC through his early going.

But he might be brilliant trying to hide the D's lack of speed.

I use to laugh at QB's wearing wrist bands until I learned the coach just spit out a # and the QB referenced and called it. They've panned to KOC calling a play. They're quite long.

Liked seeing Cousins slamming the ball down when they - yet again - couldn't get the play off in time.

Are the playcalls too long? X-right, fluff, fluff, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, on... seven.

Every game, they have to burn timeouts.

Even with everyone lining up with ten seconds to go can be dicey as they go through a litany of shit. Just hike the damn ball.

I noticed that too. I also loved him showing that kind of fire. Picked up on the seemingly Neverending playcall terms too.

Shit, they almost ran the play clock out again directly after calling the TO to avoid running the play clock out!

Nope, add SF to your list Tom. They would overpower us. Ravens, we would have a chance.

No one could know that ... not with this team

Stepping back just a bit, our team is a notch below the better teams. You can choose to ignore it or dismiss it or whatever.

It's a lot of fun seeing us consistently beat other similar or worse teams ... and beat somebody like the Bills that are generally considered better (although that has come down a bit). Our resilience has been awesome and missing for a long time.

But ... is it okay to talk about our chances as something other than just a floaty bird thing with fluffy wings?

GZUZ, its just trying to be honest about competition level and the big picture.

I was for firing Donnashell mid-season, but after winning in Buffalo, I am ok with his finishing out the season, see where it goes.

They can decide in the off-season whether or not to give him another go.

The Patriots D had given up 8.6 ppg in their 6 games prior to last night.

That's a great point. I feel like the offense played a very complete game for sure. Now of we can get some improvements on defense.....

In the Dallas game, both Garrett and Dungy commented on how early the cowboys were getting to the line of scrimmage, allowing Prescott to see the defense and make adjustments. They have a lot of penalties in general ... its not like they play smarter or more organized etc but it brought the point home during our game burning TOs and still getting plays off with '0' seconds on the play clock.

That has to get cleaned up, especially for away games

Strangely enough, the Patriots had also scored 26.3 ppg during that stretch, winning 5 of the 6.

Has the media even brought it up to KOC, let alone called him out on it?

What do the other nine assistant offensive coordinators, for example the TE passing game coach, do throughout the game? Are they chiming in at the beginning of the play clock in a mini kumbaya? Or do they just sit in the booth?

Someone needs to get through to KOC that it's embarrassing. Maybe Cousins' ire will get it some attention.

I swear to god, if it was me I would have taken my helmet off, thrown in at Bradbury and the idiot 'gatekeeper' guard, fired a bullet spiral ball at KOCs playcalling sheet, then walked off the damn field.

IOW, Cousins has shown great restraint. But IDK, maybe he is part of the problem.

We've all seen the "Boy, I bet they wished they haven't burned those timeouts earlier" scenarios when just a few seconds matter.

So we are among the league leaders in delay of game penalties: https://www.footballdb.com/stats/penalties.html?sort=dg but that doesn't show timeouts used per team to avoid the penalty.

We are good in terms of penalties against as a whole, but avoiding or severely limiting delays/timeouts is relatively achievable.

I'm off my soapbox.

Just listening to the audio of play calls and checks and changes at the line by thr center and cousins..

It takes a minimum of ten seconds to get the play and blocking scheme called at the line…

At least, we managed to give KFC a decent amount of time to make throws and he made some truly NFL caliber reads and throws.

Considering Darrisaw was out and the OL performance against Dallas..

Either KOC and the OL coach made impressive strides, or patriot defense was over rated..

I’m giving KOC credit for a better scheme on blocking pass pro..

It’s not like our line suddenly got immensely better physically on a short week.

How many years has it been since this franchise was 9-2?
Enjoy the ride..

I hope my meds are up to the task of cardiac Kirk and Donnashello defense.

We are 6-2 in the NFC games… which is goood..

I would love a divisional sweep..
but the Lions are rising to the occasion as spoilers, and The bears are going to be only as good as we let Fields be…

FTP.. POUND ROGERS INTO SAND…FTP..

We have to win again on the road..

I would prefer to beat the giants at a minimum…

I will take any and all wins no matter how ugly..

But it would be nice to sit back and watch a blowout win…

In the Playoffs would be an excellent time for that pleasure..

NFCCG, preferably…

The one thing that KOC really needs to take a look at is his screen play design.

#1 they aren't well disguised and are fooling no one.
#2 execution of these screens are awful. One screen didn't even have a receiver there.
#3 why are our olineman constantly late getting to their spots? Bradbury, Cleveland, and O'Neal are in the +90%tile regarding speed RAS combine metrics.

There are two assistants for screen play design. Fire them and never utter the word screen in any Vikings facilities.

If Randall McDaniel himself traveled 5,000 miles on foot to discuss the use of pulling guards in a screen, banish him from the facilities.

And he is a Mt. Rushmore guy.

Either KOC and the OL coach made impressive strides, or patriot defense was over rated.

The truth could lie somewhere in the middle.
