Good stuff Bill and TJ.

I still maintain that switching Ingram to his more natural position of LG during the off-season will cure the stepsies problem.

A part of me wants the Packers eliminated a.s.a.p, but a part of me thinks the Packers making the playoffs could mean the Packers knock off a team or 2 that would give the Vikings trouble, and I feel good about the Vikings chances of beating the Pack in the playoffs at home.

The Packers beat the Vikings next weekend, then SF likely gets the #2 seed, and GB is going to SF in wildcard round. The Vikings get the Giants, and the Bucs get the Cowboys. I see this as the most likely scenario right now.

I've been stirring and spinning negative about seedings and early exits from the playoffs as well.

I predicted about 14 wins this os. A SB as well. But I was envisioning a very different team. The reality of what they are falls short in a few ways but is also this giant wonderful thing.

I'm worried about what falling short this year will feel like. Pre living imagined anxiety and depression.

No it wouldn't. The problem is that he takes a humongous first step back and in on the pass block. The only difference would be that the giant step back and right instead of back and left. The issue is technique, not side.

Maybe Kirk fumbles, and Ingram picks up the loose ball to score the game winner ?

A fumbled snap caused by Ingram stepping on Cousins foot again.

Kirk is switching to steal toed boots the rest of the season

.
.
i believe the foot-stepping is because ingram played left-guard for four years at lsu....

added: just read marty's post above - i agree with him....

About the only scenario where i could see this happening is if we let Ezra walk (being he will be a FA) and we draft a plug and play RG.

Both Bradbury and Cleveland are set to become FA's this off season. I'd prefer to move on from both but we have little to no depth. I think Ezra is more suited to play LT. He gets bullied too much as a G but is certainly the better player of the two.

Good point. His technique is still very sloppy and switching sides might take a year to readjust too. As a result both of Kirk's feet might even out and we will have a running qb.

- I'm a sad creature to sit here and worry about GB, I know
- I guess the flip would be, How cool would it be to beat them in the first round?

How cool would it be to just beat the crap out of them this week and not worry about them in the first round?

And in turn, beat each team we play through the Super Bowl, and none of the worries about who we play and when matter.

Just take care of business, even if it has to come down to a last second FG

Not sure we have to worry about GB or DET

Wash hosts the hapless eliminated Browns and then the Cowboys who will more than likely be resting their starters

But the Cowboys backup QB is probably more than capable of beating the red Commandoe skins.

Is there any analysis on best average pff for teams offensive and defensive average rankings and how that equates to W’s and L’s ?

Sort of use it for predicting game outcomes?

As the season progresses, IMO the correlation is better but only because as teams win, it's either somewhat natural or intentional to bump up the scores of players. Then there is a likely halo effect for perennial All-Pros.

And like Zimmer said, it's very subjective because they don't know the play or assignments. And should a player get credit so to speak for plays where for example the D schemes to stop that player. Like Moss getting all kinds of coverage.

Even if it was accurate, you'd have to account for injuries (both where a player was out or hampered (and the latter could be masked)), the opponent player, grass vs artificial turf, home v away, etc.

Seems an average of the aggregate would be less accurate, i.e. you'd want to slice and dice the data.

Who knows though.

Cleveland has another year on his contract. He'd be a FA after next season.

Tonga and Shelley have been big pickups. Former Bears drafted in the 6th and 7th round.

The Bears waived both Duke Shelley and Khyiris Tonga on August 31 this year.

Both players are now playing at a high level for the Vikings, each posting a top 15 grade at their position. Either would be the highest-graded defender on the Bears' defense right now.

Merry Christmas to all here !!

So with Pack still potentially making the Wild Card last spot, do we play next weekend to win and kick them out or coast and let them in that spot to potentially face them in first round in our house?

You win to get the 2 seed.
