I didn't say it was your idea, I just liked it, thought it was a smart and fair idea.

I didn't realize both Dallas and SF have a chance at the 1st seed.

Is that true ?

IF Dallas got the #1 seed, then it would be SF probably getting GB, Philly going to TB, Giants at MN.

IF SF got the #1 seed, then it would probably be GB at Philly, Dallas at TB, Giants at MN.

Most likely scenario, Philly keeps the #1 seed and gets a bye, GB at SF, Dallas at TB, Giants at MN.

The Bears probably do NOT want to win the last game, so if 2 of those 3 teams slip up, then Minnesota gets GB at home, not exactly sure what the other matchups would be.

That idea means KC would potentially play in week 18 then not again until week 21?

And then eventually there would be a one week imbalance between when the NFC and AFC champions are decided, which affects the SB.

ESPN - maybe forget the game entirely, go with win %, or play the AFCCG in a neutral stadium.

Could they move the Super Bowl to a week later ?

KC having 3 weeks off would not be good.

No chance. That would be beyond a logistics nightmare.

We're 5 weeks away. Everything and everyone (other than the 2 teams obviously) involved in putting on the event are in place.

Move the SB now? LMAO.

Do nothing. Leave the schedule exactly as is to prevent further issues. Go with W/L percentage.

Inaction is action.

The game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals that was suspended Monday will not be completed.

To address potential competitive discrepancies, the league’s 32 clubs will meet on Friday to consider a resolution with two adjustments to the A.F.C. playoffs that were recommended by Goodell and approved by the competition committee.

First, the A.F.C. Championship Game would be held at a neutral site if the teams that qualify played an unequal number of games and both could have been the top seed if all games had been completed. Second, if the Baltimore Ravens (10-6) beat Cincinnati for the second time this season on Sunday, and if the A.F.C. North rivals are scheduled to play one another in the wild-card round, the game site would be determined by a coin toss.

nytimes....

Thanks.

The neutral site idea was floated the other day. Seems both KC and Buffalo have a somewhat legit complaint: KC has the better W/L percentage while Buffalo could say if they won last week (and assuming both teams won in the last weekend) they beat KC head-to-head and would have HFA. And Buffalo didn't have the chance to have the same W/L percentage.

So off to the neutral site with you! I would think it will be an outdoor stadium. Chicago is pretty equidistant, has the capacity to handle a sudden surge in demand for hotels, etc.

Wondered about a coin toss but dismissed it as too random. Hope Cincy wins so that doesn't occur.

The team has ruled safety Harrison Smith out of Sunday’s game in Chicago. Smith reportedly started experiencing knee soreness on Friday and the team has decided to sit him out of Sunday’s game.

The team has also activated tight end Irv Smith Jr. and defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard from injured reserve and added them to the active roster. Bullard was the third starter on the defensive line prior to his injury.

In addition, the team has elevated linebacker Ryan Connelly and offensive lineman Kyle Hinton from the practice squad.

This article by LaVelle looks interesting. Can someone cut, paste & post it for us cheap b's who wont' subscribe to the Strib?

Cornerback Duke Shelley is the #Vikings shortest (5-foot-8) and lightest (183 pounds) player on the roster. But those are just numbers. Shelley is a small guy making huge plays

We're winning our first playoff game next weekend no matter who it is. Guaranteed. Double-stamped. As of now the playoff picture isn't solidified so I have no comment beyond that other than, at a minimum, we'll have a good chance at winning the second game. We're going to sham and scam our way directly to a Super Bowl title - on way or another.

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!

Dumbest coach award today has to go to the Chargers coach, who still has all of his starters in the game with absolutely nothing to play for. They are locked into the 5-spot no matter what.

I hope you're right of course! I won't be surprised if we lay an egg with some of the dumb stuff we continue to do however.

Why did the commentator call the Packers the King of the NFLs' castle ?

The Lion Kings ?

The ViKINGS are Kings of the North.
