Cousins to the Jets or Raiders for picks

Trade him for anything you can get. We've done just as good with the likes of Ponder.

Probably a pipe dream.

That's the depressing part for me... not even mad at today's game as it was pretty close to what I expected.

I can live with a rebuild too.

What I don't want to watch next year... is running it back Cousins.
He isn't the main problem... but I hope for a QB that can mask problems, carry the team when needed.

A rehash of regime priorities:

1. Manage expectations, cause it's not going to be pretty folks.
2. Fire Donatell.
3. Start on the road to continuity and shape the next iteration of the Vikings.
4. Scrap the 3-4 for the 4-3.
5. Try to trade or else cut expensive deadwood, yes it is a business.
6. Trade Za Smith, assuming equal value in return.
7. Sign only young free agents.

Agree, we need to get younger, faster, and cheaper, and it's going to hurt in the standings for a while.

We have limited picks next year because we went for it this year with a roster that never really had a chance.

That is all on the Wilf's. They insisted this was a competitive rebuild and it didn't work. Now it's time to blow it up and do an actual rebuild.

One of the hazards of finishing 13-4. A very low draft pick.

When you look at this defense, those were some costly wins.

Losing early helps a little.

Yep, they are billionaires, but they aren't smarter than the average fan in this place. I think most of use wanted a blow up last year, at least I did.

Wish the Vikings had a quarterback and offense that actually threw past the sticks too

Burrows has enough pocket presence to move around with a line missing guys and aa real defense coming at him

Yet Kirko

As noted...horrible IQ
Throw here
Throw there

That's about it

There was a reason Kirko was rated lower than a lot of guys in the postseason rankiings

OMG DISRESPECT

Nope

Reality

Other teams can survive having 3 lineman out or playing with a backup qb. Our team makes excuses.

The nice thing is the number of new guys likely to be on the roster next year, they could probably do either.
If they want to stay with the 3-4 they need some serious upgrades, but even if we go back we need upgrades.

The one positive I see is the team will be in the best cap situation it's been in awhile. And this is assuming Smith, Kendricks, Cook and Thielen are all gone,
Honestly none are worth a restructure, just let them continue on somewhere else.

Hunter will be interesting. He was used completely out of position this year. I know PFF had him graded pretty high, but he wasn't near the player we saw 3 yeas ago.
He's been through 2 major injuries, and will be on his last chance for a big pay day.
Not so sure it will make sense to give him big $ and contract.

Im not so sure the team needs to be any worse. The offense should be very good. I think people are going to like Chandler.
The defense. can't be any worse, go young, get some speed on that side of the ball and let's see what happens next year.
This is the NFL of 2023, most all teams have weaknesses.
Be really good on offense and even a middling defense and you are in the hunt.

It was fitting on the that 3rd down that Brieda got, where he broke 3 tackles, the tacklers were, Hunter, Smith and Kendricks.

3 guys who once were the cornerstone of the defense, now all on the downside of their careers.

Also, just looked, only 1 draft pick in the first 90ish picks not ideal for restocking the defense.
Think we only have 4 picks at this point.

Tough to lose a playoff game at home giving up ZERO sacks and ZERO turnovers. Hard to do.

Defense did not make one good play...not one. Why they decided to again play off the receivers in that zone shell is beyond me. It will be a challenge to rebuild that defense.

I'm guessing JJ will force his way out of Minnesota. Honestly who could blame him?

My god you are bitter. Give it a rest.

Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, and Herbert are not available for trade.

Rodgers and Brady are tool old.

Outside of that Cousins is about on par with the rest. Which means you need a lot of players and quality coaching to win.

I was at the game today. Dropped a ridiculous amount of money on tickets for my family and from the stands the defense looked to only have 9 guys on the field much of the time. So damn slow and out of position it was laughable. Looked like a bad small town high school team.

Cousins isn’t one of the top QBs but he isn’t the problem. Not forcing a punt until 4 minutes left in 3rd qtr is a much bigger problem.

Vikings I don’t think even forced a 3rd down on the first two drives.

Forced one 4th down in first half.

A dozen or more QBs have been drafted the past few years in be first round that suck or can’t stay healthy or both.

You can draft Cousins replacement and have him win the job but there isn’t a damn thing out there for a realistic trade.

I guess they should tank and get the next Rosen, Mayfield, Darnold, team cancer Murray, always hurt Tua, Mr INT Dak, and on and on and on.

Where did I say it was all about Cousins? You're kind of proving my point.

Maybe you're bitter because you sat through it?

I think the last play on offense shows the problem with Cousins. He doesn't see things quickly.

He saw Jefferson was covered, Osborne was covered but would soon be open, Hock was covered. If he saw things that quickly, he would have went to Osborne for a 1st down, or even threw another prayer for JJ to go up and get.

I think Adderall would help Kirk, and give him that extra millisecond. But unless he starts taking Adderall, he should be traded.

Kirk isn't the biggest problem, but he is next in line after you change defensive coordinators, and get rid of the aging vets on the team, along with Reagor and Irv Smith.

Cousins IS a huge part of the problem

1. He is a tease. Plays like a top QB most of the time and then drops the ball in key moments

2. Low football IQ when the pressure is on

3. Takes up a huge chunk of salary cap

He would be ok to be a middle of the road QB and then build a very good team around him - like a Brad Johnson except for those points above. The Bucs won a SB with Johnson because could deliver in key moments and wasn't paid like a top 5 QB
