Get KOC working with a good, young QB.

KOC will fix some of his mistakes, and will do well with a good, young QB.

I agree Brad, it's not just Mr. 4th and 26, but you get rid of him first.

The moment Kwesi extended Cousins two years while cobbling together a half-assed 3-4, our fate was sealed. Good enough to be middle of the road. John Wooden said there is a big difference between winning and being successful.

But the Wilfs got their home game, the other NFL owners are probably sending congratulations.

I can't stand Kirk Cousins, but Kirk Cousins was not our problem this season. That was the worst defense I've ever seen in the playoffs in my 50+ years of watching football. Can anybody think of a worse one?

A rehash of regime priorities:

1. Manage expectations, cause it's not going to be pretty folks.
2. Fire Donatell.
3. Start on the road to continuity and shape the next iteration of the Vikings.
4. Scrap the 3-4 for the 4-3.
5. Try to trade or else cut expensive deadwood, yes it is a business.
6. Trade Za Smith, assuming equal value in return.
7. Sign only young free agents.

Better to lose now than get a humbling at San Francisco. That would have been a humiliating meltdown to finish the season. I could see the Vikes getting beat by 30 out there.

I agree Brad...and the sad part is we have decent players...but the scheme was soooooo f'n bad that they were completely clueless for THE WHOLE SEASON!! That is coaching! Period!

Gotta wonder if those plays to the flat, screens, etc are well designed but we simply have shitty blockers... from the OL to the WRs to the TEs.

Either way, after a season of stuffs you'd think KOC would have stopped calling them.

If you have them in the right spots, Kendricks and Hunter can be good players. Z Smith and Peterson only have so many snaps left in them. There's a lot of pieces missing. Harrison Smith should have been gone two years ago.

Nobody is a difference maker. Hunter is the closest thing, Z was early. That's it.

I agree, we likely would have been humiliated in SF.

Fans here are pretty sharp, but I swear some fans don't watch other teams, and they still think Harrison Smith is elite.

He can't run anymore. If it were 1985 he could take people's heads off he may be okay

But you need speed and range. I might point out Cam Bynum has neither and he's young. He's just a bad, overmatched player.

Yes, bye bye Mr. 4th and 26, we have had enough of your non-aggressive defense.

You gotta be able to cover somebody. There was guys just roaming free out there. Hodgins looked like Jerry Rice.

The middle of the field was wide open like it has been all season.

Agree, we need to get younger, faster, and cheaper, and it's going to hurt in the standings for a while.

We have limited picks next year because we went for it this year with a roster that never really had a chance.

All of them. Can you imagine the excitement and anticipation of going against that? It’s Christmas Eve for a 7 year old.

Harrison Smith hasn't played like an elite player in 5-6 years.

Agree, both of are safety's aren't good enough. Too bad Cine couldn't step in and play right away and then got hurt on ST.

Spielman extending Theilen and H Smith is really going to be hard to overcome cap wise for the next few seasons even if we dump both tommorrow.

Both were done or close to it when he ext them.

One of the hazards of finishing 13-4. A very low draft pick.

When you look at this defense, those were some costly wins.

With this defense I don't understand how anyone thought they'd win a playoff game.

Trade him for anything you can get. We've done just as good with the likes of Ponder.

Hunter is an enigma, but yes he is out of position. Kendricks seemed to age rapidly, err he did age rapidly. He played with abandon over the years and that probably helped age him.

Peterson had some flashes and bright spots but also played a lot of bad football. Just too slow. Someone posted how he defied his slide of the last few years, and odds are he will regress.

The key to the D was supposed to be Hunter and Smith putting tremendous pressure on QBs. There were some good moments but they were not a force per se.
