And watch Olave's hands. Not even close to securing the ball.... which Dantzler may have helped cause (or Olave went all Troy Williamson).

Bravo for a savvy CB play. Although he held Olave's arm in front of the ref. We were lucky too.

He was pulling Olave's right arm down and was lucky not to get called.

Disagree

dantzler definitely had a hold of olave's right forearm with his left hand....

Yes in the 0.0001 second before the ball arrived.

There was a better angle in the game.

I dont have a problem with calling it savy play … IMO he pinned his right arm from extending before ripping it down when the ball go there.

I just would have not been surprised by a pi call.

it was a great play...touching and grabbing is very common - could have been called, but the refs let it go....

Speaking of catches and Phil's "dropped touchdown", I think Cousins was to blame there as that ball was completely behind Jefferson while he was running the other way.

OK, maybe he could have caught it. It would have been the top play, certainly the top catch, of the day. Generally in those cases, it's the WR abnormally making something tremendous out of nothing.

QUOTE: What to know: The Vikings are 3-1 even though their offense and defense, overhauled in the transition to new coach Kevin O'Connell, are very much works in progress. Sunday's game in London was won by their special teams -- place-kicker Greg Joseph kicked five field goals, including what proved to be the game winner from 47 yards out -- and was sealed only when Saints place-kicker Will Lutz hit the upright and crossbar from 61 yards away. Meanwhile, the offense has been disjointed and has struggled to get snaps off before the play clock. And the defense has given up huge chunks of yards at inopportune times.

Is quarterback Kirk Cousins going to be able to sharpen up in this offense? Cousins had a decent line Sunday, completing 25 of 38 passes for 273 yards, and made the key pass in the game to set up the game-winning field goal. But he missed receiver Justin Jefferson open twice in the end zone and has looked uncomfortable in the pocket in this new scheme. -- Kevin Seifert

cousins was roughed-up plenty, even when he wasn't getting sacked...the vikes were far from dominant, but came up big when it counted...we are a work in progress...victories like the last two could give us a home game in the postseason....

if we converted back to a 4-3 defense i believe it would immediately pay dividends - we could play asamoah as an olb and it would strengthen our defensive tackle position by giving us more depth...i don't think hunter is comfortable as an olb edge rusher - and he's possibly our best player on defense....

i can see the vikes letting cook go and extending mattison on a 3yr/10mm contract this offseason....

I agree on the 4-3. I'm not a against changing the a 3-4 or mixing in a little from time to time, but it doesn't match our players strengths right now. I'd like to see Asamoah's speed on the field more too.

The big key to going 3-4 is stopping the run; it seems to be doing the reverse.

You need a beast in the middle. We don't have that.

'I still can't understand how the brass didn't grab Jordan Davis, especially considering they were planning on moving to a 3-4. I get it resources were tied to the DT position but everyone knows the key to a 3-4 is the middle clogging DT.

I would trade both Cine and Booth for Davis today.

I referenced these two:
1) Mundt's drop (Pass Incomplete
(1:10) (Shotgun) K.Cousins pass incomplete short right to J.Mundt.
3rd & 1 at NO 10)

2)1 Yard Pass (10:09 3rd Quarter) (Shotgun) K.Cousins pass short right to A.Thielen to NO 6 for 1 yard (M.Lattimore).
3rd & 7 at NO 7
KC threw short to Thielen instead at the of throwing to the corner on the other play. The one you are referencing was a poor pass and a different play.

The 2nd was what riled up Jeffereson on the sideline. He was open in the corner of the end zone. It was more a choice of KC than drop.

I forget about the other which was a poor throw by Kirk. Which probably added to it.

The incredible haul we got for trading back within the division looked too good on kwesi's new fangled trade cart.

He didn't directly break up the pass, as in swatting the ball away. The ball clearly continued into Olave's body.

Fine coverage though, and he likely caused the incompletion from everything he did.

Yep, good coverage, solid technique with hand fighting and not grabbing, head locating the ball..

Should rarely be called PI, unless in GB

Cine will most likely never play a meaningful snap for us. The injury will mostly cover Kwesi but it'll always have a little stank on it.

I sorta wanted Jameson, would also have liked Kenny Pickett, but was trusting Kwesi on the trade down, believing he probably knew what he was doing.

Tomlin thought his offense needed a spark, and put in Pickett for the first time, the 2nd half against the Jets. Pickett got 2 TDs, but wasn't clutch at the end, and threw a pick. I almost hope his first start isn't next week on the road at the Bills. It would be nice to get a confidence builder first.

I hope Cine turns out to be a player, but I didn't see when seeing Georgia. The guys that stood out every week were Davis, Dean and Ringo.

Pickett is a future #2.

I watched him aim his deep ball and was like nope!

Agreed. Anyone with a name that sounds like Pick it, won't have any success. Just like kicker named Blewitt. Both went to Pitt oddly enough.

The Steelers had the chance to draft Lamar when it was obvious they needed a QBOTF.

I would trade both Cine and Booth for Davis today.

yes, but would you have made that trade Saturday?....

Fwiw... almost everyone was against it the night of the trade.

I know I was...not quite as vehemently as others

i hated the trade out of #12, and still think we were robbed...that said, i wanted jameson, who might not play until who knows....

Yep, this is what I wanted too.

That trade was one of our worst. Not as bad as the Hershel or Moss trade but we got fleeced and missed out on talent, imo

Overall i thought Dantzler played very well.

That pass breakup down the left sideline was exquisite!

You can't see from that angle that was good coverage?

He got his head around and the hand on the ball... textbook coverage.
Doing both those immediately reduces your PI chances.
Unless you are arm locked or are using both arms that isn't going to get called...

It's been so long since we've seen good coverage we can't even give Dantzler credit.

After watching it in slow motion a couple times, I am wrong. I do not see Olave’s right arm restricted or held back from trying to catch the ball.

You can’t convince me that grabbing a receiver’s arm through the catch … even if just for awareness of body positioning … doesn’t open you to interpretation by the ref …

But it would have been a bad call. Good coverage.

I'm in Europe, so i went to sleep before we would have picked at #12...when i woke up i was shocked with what had transpired - i kept expecting to find more trade-back picks, maybe something for 2023, but nothing, i was dumbfounded - it was a very weak trade back - and with a divisional foe....
