Rapt, that was cool with PP, and I liked the one with KOC even more.

A couple players that got traded at the deadline were headscratchers.

Namely Hockenson and Bradley Chubb.

Both Det & Clev have plenty of cap room so new contracts shouldn't be an issue and the players they traded are both arguably top 5 at their position. While Clev got a 1st rd pick for Chubb it will be in the 20's but they currently have a potential playoff team. Det did not get a lot in return which is really puzzling.

Edit: Chubb was traded by Denver not Cleveland

When you're the worst team in the league, do you spend 9.5M on a TE?

My guess is they talked to him about an extension, and he said no. Better to get something for him now than pay him 9.5M next year, win 4 games and then have him walk.

The Lions typical season lasts about five games before they pack it up for the winter. This year, they might be thinking full-on rebuild. Trade vets and $$ for draft picks and cap space. If we were doormats at 1-6, the vast majority of fans and posters would be clamoring to do the same thing.

Sunday is biggest game of year IMO.

Win at Washington, a place Packers didn’t and the division is pretty much locked up.

I assume the Vikings get rolled in Buffalo.

I agree classic trap game

Besides great playcalling, KOC seems great at motivation.

I liked the part where he said to Kirk, "I like that, I like that".

And then the part about trying to get everyone a TD, where he says to the assistant coaches that they might get one too, lol.

Haven't they been in full rebuild mode for a decade now?

It looked like their arrow was pointing up entering this year. But their defense has been awful.

Resigning guys like Hock is certainly something they should do. They have one hell of a lot more cap space than we do.

I guess thats why their the Lions.

Never heard any rumblings about him wanting out. For the most part, it seemed like the team was really buying in to their HC.

Of course you wouldn't he's not going to publicly state how unhappy he was and wanted out, especially this early before contracts would be discussed

If he had agreed to an extension (or shown signs of wanting to stay), he'd probably still be a Lion.

Dan Campbell would have to be PT Barnum to have his team "really buying in" with a 4-19-1 record.

And again, when you're the worst team in football, do you build around a TE at 14M+/year? And TJ is very good, but let's not confuse him with Gronk or Kelce.

By "Rumblings" usually it's leaked by the team that a player could be had in order to create competition driving up the asking price. This trade happened w/o that.

Hock did say he wasn't surprised he was traded. One sly overlooked move the Vikings did make was not releasing the severity of Irv's injury until after the trade was completed.

Heineke was throwing the ball up for grabs big time in the first half against the fudge. Hopefully he continues that trend vs his second half play.

Their cap space vs ours means nothing. And they have very little left this year.

Next year they now have $30M minus whoever they want to keep, but would have only had $20M if they kept him. And they will likely be paying for a top 1-3 pick. So not much for 2023. Basically inadequate if you are trying to rebuild (the rebuild is speculation).

On Kirk's 17 yard run for a TD, KOC yelled at him to tuck the ball away, and it looks like Kirk did that right after KOC told him (looking at the replay from another angle).

It's a good thing the play was close to KOC, and hopefully Kirk remembers to do that in the future when doing a little running.

Joseph made 5 FGs and was player of the week with the game at London.

Maybe he needs to be on the same sleep schedule. Does he focus better and try harder if he lacks sleep ? Or did he get more sleep the previous night ?

I went back to look at the link I provided and there was no audio - wth! Any way my impression was, Coach said it when it needed to be done and it coincided with KC just doing the right thing. My observation was I don't think Kirk heard him.

Great play. Great vision. More to come?

Plain and simple we need a new kicker

Golf Digest: On Thursday (4/2016), after Ernie Els tried to explain how he had six-putted from three feet on one hole and then missed a series of mind-boggling short putts on others, he described his condition as if there was some kind of "short" in his brain.

"I can go to that putting green now and make 20 straight 3‑footers," Els said after the round. "And then you get on the course and you feel a little different and you can't do what you normally do. So it's pretty difficult."

-- does our guy have the yips?

- prob made 20 extra points in a row in practice last week more than a few times, too
