I don't quite understand how to put pictures on here, maybe someone else can have this show as a picture.

It's how TJ looks like a Viking:

And as a bonus, TJ has a 'J' in his name.

I'm hoping Ingram's struggles are due to learning the mirrored version of his college position. He's having to re-learn the footwork in reverse, kind of like driving a car with your left foot working the pedals. Cleveland had some struggles too, still does, but he's made a great leap from where he was, and I think Ingram will too. Next year he'll have had a full year of NFL strength and conditioning which will help. He's a big guy, and unlike Bradbury I think he'll get to where he's not being bull-rushed as easily, though he has shown he can stand up some of the DTs out there already (feast or famine as someone put).

I'm excited that we picked up TJ, he had some great tape in Detroit. I watched his highlights and he has good athleticism and has that "big catch radius" that gets talked about. A lot of his highlight catches though aren't ones that Kirk likes to throw, throwing over a LB and under a safety or a tight seam in traffic. I hope KFC can get past that and utilize a great TE well, it will open up the rest of the field quite a bit.

Hock is from Iowa so no doubt that plays a major factor. Now he's close enough to go visit his family and his family can come up for games. Short of Iowa getting an NFL franchise, it's probably the best place for him and I have a feeling he might be willing to take a discount to stay here as a result. Besides, he knows that with Jefferson and Thielen around, he will be open for a LOT of plays. One thing I do like about O'Connell...he's opening things up to where he says: 'you want to take away Jefferson? No problem, I have other players.' That's how championships are won. You need BOTH the blue-chippers AND the secondary players who can punish you for focusing on the blue-chippers.

This team does powerful things to my emotions.

Got goosebumps bc I was picturing confetti flying and the words of Bill Parcell. "For the rest of your lives no one can ever say you couldn't do it".

I like giving myself the mostest room to come crashing down...

It's not too late post trade deadline to get Suh or Richardson off the couch is it?

Let's get some $ together if not...

Kwesi would be smart to do that.

Suh would be a dream come true! We really need about one more pass rusher and one more OL for me to really think SB champion possibilities.

We all have been begging for bits and pieces of chewed up gum to fill the cracks.

I didn't see Kwesi pulling off that kind of trade at all.

I thought we would be done referencing Spielmans love for 6th and 7th round picks and overpaying players on extension.

Kevin O’Connell says some of the Vikings’ defensive coaches came to him and were more excited than anyone about the team getting TJ Hockenson, having had to game plan against him this year and in previous years

No doubt, just win baby, let's be the worst 7-1 team out there, I'll take it. The games after that could be a course correction, or they may surprise us all. I'm enjoying the ride thus far: twists, turns, loop-de-loops, bottom fell out....rollercoasters are fun when you win.

Getting TJ at the deadline should turn out to be a huge get for this franchise. Early in the season, someone on the NFL network was talking about how the first few games of the year were going to be sloppy as teams that didn't play their starters in preseason got the kinks out their game. One thing that was pretty glaring for the Vikings was the play from the TE position. It was at best OK, but really not that good, almost like Smith and Cousins weren't really on the same page. TJ shouldn't be expected to do much against Washington this week, but he might be a big factor in the Bills game. He is a much better TE than Smith and should present another weapon the defense will have to pay a lot of attention to, Smith didn't or doesn't present that same type of challenge.

I realize that Smith hasn't played a lot of professional football because he's been injured so much, so there is a chance he'll become a solid player. But Hockenson is bigger, stronger and as fast. It would be awesome if they were both on the field at the same time, but I'm beginning to wonder if Smith will ever play a full season (he probably is too).

because of the trade, hockenson will not get a bye this season - playing 18 games....

hockenson has already played washington and dallas this season - will have played them each twice by week 11....

patrick peterson mic'd up...the dude is over the top - just lit...exhausting to watch....

I thought in the Philly game the TE play was particularly lacking.

Even before the momentum sucking drop by Irv that could have been a walk in TD...

Cousins targeted Irv a number of times on 3rd down and Irv just couldn't get any separation.
Killed drives early.

Hockensen has some speed and great size.

Really hoping this takes the offense to another level.

A couple players that got traded at the deadline were headscratchers.

Namely Hockenson and Bradley Chubb.

Both Det & Clev have plenty of cap room so new contracts shouldn't be an issue and the players they traded are both arguably top 5 at their position. While Clev got a 1st rd pick for Chubb it will be in the 20's but they currently have a potential playoff team. Det did not get a lot in return which is really puzzling.

Edit: Chubb was traded by Denver not Cleveland
