Duran is starting to concern me. In his last 4 outings he has given up 7 runs in 3.1 innings. Maybe we should send him to AAA.

What a horrible take.

Of course it is. I appropriated it from you.

If the box is accurate, Duran should of loaded the bases with the the last pitch of the game. Feels like too many walks after getting ahead in the count.

He's turning into another in a long line of cardiac closers.

Luplow joins the team
Buxton to the IL with his injury (pick one)

Great. The only guy with a lower OPS than Vazquez.

Holy crap. Vazquez got two hits last night and raised his OPS to an even .600.

Michael A Taylor hit a HR and broke the .700 line at .704. He's done it a couple of other times this year, only to find that he can't handle that rarified atmosphere and tumbles back down.

And of course, Carlos Correa continues to steal money. Another 0 for 4 with 2 K. His OPS is now down to .678. It's just amazing what $33.3/yr can buy.

Joey Gallo is now batting .176 for the year.

Sadly, it's the best average he's had in three years. He's over-performing.

Carlos Correa in the last 5 games: 1 for 18 with 6K. The $33M linchpin of our offense.

Jeffers is very quietly having a pretty good year.

Jeffers is attributing his offensive performance (2nd highest OPS among catchers with at least 150 AB) to his offseason work with Merry Popkins. He says Popkins overhauled his hitting mechanics.

Another player I have to tip my hat to is Max Kepler. Max had an abysmal month of May when he slashed .137 .214 .333 .548. Since then his monthly totals have been .219, .275, .453, .729 / .291 .340 .500 .840 and .333, .375, .733, 1.108. At this point, I would almost put money on the Twins picking up his option.

The dynamic duo of Julien and Wallner went 6 for 10 with 4R and 2RBI. Those two give me some hope for the future.

Julien, Wallner, Lewis, Kirilov. Future is looking good with this young core.

If Kirilloff and Lewis can stay on the field. Right now they are looking very Buxton-esque.

If there was anything better than the 12-1 win Saturday night it was seeing Tim Anderson get knocked on his ass.

Our overpaid, underachieving shortstop is 0 for 2 with 2 GIDP's.
But he continues to hit high in the order.
I guess Rocco is scared of Carlos if he puts him down in the order for a few games

Should be the corner starting outfielders as much as possible the rest of the way, and in 2024.

Yes, that hit sent his OPS soaring to .676.

Also, it looks a .600 OPS was too much for Vazquez to handle.

Joey Gallo is now striking out more than 50% of his official at-bats. In 241 at-bats he has 121 strikeouts. Gallo is batting .174 and hasn't hit a HR since July 17. He's 3-for-34 with one RBI since his last HR. You'd be hard-pressed to find a worse hitter in the majors.

You guys still think he is a valuable piece of the equation?

How about Julien and Wallner plus Kepler being hot?

So if Arreaz was on the team would Julien have a spot?

I'm really liking Julien in the leadoff spot. Since July 1, he is hitting .353 with a .450 OBP. Only took Rocco a month to figure out Julien should be leading off instead of Correa. Yesterday the Julien / Wallner combo was 2 for 5 with 3 walks, 2R and 2RBI. Both have OPS in the .900's. Wallner also chipped in with a nice sliding catch in LF.

Correa with a huge (what should have been game-winning) hit yesterday. It's kinda forgotten now. Despite his poor overall stats, he has had some big hits when needed.

Guess where I was yesterday on my birthday? Always stick around through a rain delay and never leave a game early. You could be rewarded as I was yesterday. It was pretty awesome. I wore my "Optimistic Since 1991" in Twins script shirt that my sister gave me for my birthday.

No birthday wishes for me on TalkVikes. I guess that means something.
