What's sorta funny about the Vikings 3rd and 4th picks:

In the post I made late last night and deleted, I was attempting to joke about the Vikings taking all USC players. Except I mistook LSU for USC (I know very little about college football), and I made a list of LSU players the Vikings could take to draft an all LSU team, lol.

And then the Vikings proceeded to draft 2 LSU players, after I had deleted those 2 posts, and corrected it to USC (which just had 3 more players in the Draft).

Here's what Dane Brugler from The Athletic said about Jaquelin Roy:

SUMMARY: A one-year starter at LSU, Roy played multiple alignments in defensive coordinator Matt House’s four-man front. A Baton Rouge native, he stayed home for his college ball and showed incremental improvements each season, including a strong junior campaign. Roy shows quality awareness to track and react to the football, relying on his hand usage and initial quickness to lead him to the football. He grew up and went to high school down the street from LSU’s campus and a change of scenery might yield unpredictable results. Roy is a complicated evaluation – he flashes promise because of his power, but his movement skills are average, and it will take time for him to adjust to pro blockers. He is a draft-and-develop tackle who can work his way into an NFL rotation as a rookie.

I will be cheering against Indianapolis and Cleveland for killing my possible QBOTF dreams for the Vikings (Richardson and DTR).

Watching highlights of Haener, some impressive throws. If he has a little mobility (which I didn't see in the highlights) the Saints may have something there.

Might as well extend Cousins after this underwhelming draft and cement Kwesi's legacy as a shit GM.

His legacy was chiseled in granite when he blew last year and picked a WR first this year.

His contract as GM is a tombstone for this team..

Spielman version: 0.5

Well, not clear. The BYU football teams has... relaxed standards. Recall their most famous QB: Jim McMahon.

Here is what Dane Brugler said about Jaren Hall, QB BYU:

SUMMARY:

A two-year starter at BYU, Hall was a multi-sport athlete for the Cougars and played in offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick’s balanced scheme. The first African-American starting quarterback in school history, he replaced Zach Wilson and posted an outstanding 51-to-11 touchdown-to-interception ratio the past two seasons. A compactly-built athlete with strong character, Hall is poised in the pocket and a smooth operator on the move to make plays with his arm or legs. He won’t benefit from as many scheme-winners at the next level and will need to improve his passing anticipation to push the ball versus NFL defenses. Overall, Hall is a cerebral, dual-threat passer with above average control and efficiency in his process, but his average arm talent, short stature and injury history are potential road blocks. He has NFL backup potential in an RPO-based, play-action offense.

And people wonder why I'm a pessimist when it comes to this franchise.

I like hearing that Jaren Hall has been favorably compared to Russell Wilson. Great leadership, good ability to create on the run, good ability to move in the pocket, good ability to throw on the run. He's already 25 years old and a married man with a child.

What really sold KAM is the concussions in 2019 and missing all of 2020 with a hip injury.

The guy is looking worse than Speilman at this point. This draft looks worse than last year's by a wide margin.
