That’s BS. Injury wasn’t a month long thing let alone longer.

GTF in there Jefferson.

He's not doing anything to move me into the camp that wants to pay him like 36 million a year. Not that he has to.

It is a 4-6 week injury. Remember the cap is over 215 million. There will be players getting paid.

Question...

Does anyone know how many times Dobbs threw short of the sticks in 3rd down

I don't remember one off hand

I’m not sure but I can confirm there were zero instances of lining up behind the right guard and <checks notes> zero overhand backwards passes to running backs.

True enough, Im sure.

Bet they all equally tweak easy enough if not fully healed - if youve ever had a full blown hammy injury Im sure you understand what Im talking about

I’m not a doctor, but I played multiple sports and “ pulled a hammy” once..

The actual damage is a tear in the any one of the three in the group, and can range wildly in severity.

https://teachmeanatomy.info/lower-limb/muscles/thigh/hamstrings/#:~:text=The%20muscles%20in%20the%20posterior,and%20flex%20at%20the%20knee.

Mine was relatively minor, involving the semitendinosus, but it hurt like a bitch and took two weeks to heal and another 4 weeks of wrap and therapy to get back to full use with out fearing the re- tearing or twinges of pain..

It’s no joke.

Yea you can “ tough it out”, but a wide receiver of Jefferson’s talent .. his money and value are tied up in those legs, hands and body..

Besides, he’s not as valuable as say… an IR QB, sucking down 2 million per game to be a trooper…

We also seem to be winning without him, just like we have without 2 mill per game cap hole..

If it’s 4-6 weeks then a world class athlete in a world class facility should be back in 4.

So let’s just say it’s not even his call it’s the team being overy cautious…if we go 5-0 wo him and we’re 1-4 with him…get the huge package to trade him bc we don’t need a 30 mil plus WR to win.

dobbs threw several passes on sunday that cousins would never throw - window too tight...some were caught, but a few were not - passes that were right on the money, but the receiver couldn't hold on to the ball for whatever reason....

he can throw on the run better than cousins...and he's willing to take tight-window risks that o'connell has been trying to get cousins to take....

People remember the Giants game and rightfully so but I saw the opposite of what you were seeing. You don't have eight 4th quarter comebacks playing it safe.

Anyway, Dobbs gives us the running option and helps us in a way Cousins couldn't.

Agree in that there were games where Cousins fired it into incredibly tight windows, and with great accuracy. That's not his normal MO.

perhaps, but he wasn't doing it for the first 3.5 quarters of every game last season....

QB school does a really good analysis of dobbs and the falcons game....

Holy shit! The block Akers threw on a 325 LB DT during Dobbs' sideline run for a first down. He just blew the big man up.

Danger is coming back early and re injury. He doesn't take snaps off either. Get him as close to 100% for the final 8 weeks with week 13 being a bye.

weird shit.

Exactly why I wouldn't build my team around a wr unless they had the talent of a Moss and even then just maybe.

Yep. Assuming fair value, JJ should be worth a ton in a trade for a couple of proven players and picks. Teams can shut JJ down, witness the Giants in the playoffs holding him to 47 yards (although Addison has emerged).

A team can be great in a certain position, but it better be at least good in the rest or else opponents will stop/exploit those weaknesses.

It has nothing to do with the caliber of the athlete and everything to do with the severity of the injury.

The Bob Ross of QB analysis!

Dobbs has a real quick release. Not crowning him but he has lots of good attributes. Expecting we'll see the bad too... or maybe not!

If we finish strong Dobbs will be a big reason why but I bet we'll start hearing the phrase, The system a lot in the future.

Dobbs has bounced around for a reason. I think we all realize that. But we caught lightning in a bottle and had a super fun, improbable win. Nothing wrong with enjoying that.

And even if he’s not a long term solution, there are instances of players being able to sustain that magic bubble for more than one week. I’m willing to see if this is one of those times.

1:50 of Fran on the Vikings, Dobbs and O'Connell:

https://x.com/josh_dobbs1/status/1721702959170351318?s=20

I love Fran. Few other people I’d rather have a couple of beers with. Thing is, I’d probably disagree with about 50% of what he says, but he’s a guy who it would be fun anyway. I’d just say “Oh Fran you’re so full of crap”. Just to get him going and sit back and enjoy.

Except QBing stuff. I’d defer to him 100% because he’s immortality.

Since the NFL and networks love these rags to riches stories, mostly to create more of a following, my guess is it will be about Dobbs, with the system being one of the supporting things.

The oft-traveled rocket scientist thing is pure gold for the media machine.

Exactly why you wouldn't trade away JJ....Dobbs mobility may benefit him more than a pocket passer (buys more time for a deep route or a rollout pattern as examples).

In a week or two will see how more explosive the offense is with JJ.

More close to that desperation than a pie in the sky scenario. If Kirk was hurt a week later....Wentz would have been one of the best options left.

Sometimes you get a Case Keenum, sometimes you get a Rich Gannon.
