DL's comment was spot on. I've been guilty of it too but you're the one waving your dumbass banner around bringing attention to it.

If you have an emoticon (in your vast repertoire of three) for drinking one's medicine quietly and then moping off, this would be the perfect time.

Holy buckets, guys! It was CLEARLY a joke! Why all the piling on?

The whole FIFY is just a lighthearted joke used all around the internet these days. It's really not that serious.

Holy Buckets that's a broad, useless generalization with no understanding of the nuances or personalities involved in the 'discussion'.

But thanks for updating us on the internet. And throwing your own arrogant and condescending hat into the ring.

Am I required to understand the personalities? Now I'm arrogant and condescending for pointing out the obvious?

Is this a Vikings thread or something else? 90% of my post was about the Vikings... I was trying to lighten the mood and get the thread back on track. Shame on me, I guess.

You must bow down to DL or suffer the wrath of him and his followers.

Finished all 8 episodes of Quarterback on Netflix.

I won't spoil anything specific, but here are some Kirk Cousins observations...

▪️ He played through crazy pain last season and kept slinging it. Rarely threw the offensive line under the bus publicly.

▪️ He is INCREDIBLY studious and diligent about his craft. Everything from film study to body work, he's a true pro. It's obvious why he's been able to "overachieve" at every level of football and become one of the 10-15 best QBs in the world.

▪️ He seems like a great dad and husband. He comes across very likable, affable and charming. Mahomes and Cousins both seem like fun "hangs" -- but in very different ways. Cousins with his son Cooper in the catering section after the Colts win was one of the best parts of the whole series.

▪️As Cousins told his psychologist in one of the episodes: “Sometimes you carry yourself with a doubt mindset … wondering what’s coming around the corner." ... This is something he seems to struggle with -- worrying about what's going to go wrong. Like a constant mild anxiety. Even before the GW FG vs. Colts, he's telling the equipment guy, "It's too far."

▪️ When adversity hits (injuries, game flow, etc.), Patrick Mahomes seems to relish in it. He "hulks up." He'll go forehead to forehead with Maxx Crosby. He's constantly working the sidelines as a vocal leader.

Cousins overcame a lot of adversity last season (and throughout his football career), but he tends to get stuck in his feelings a lot. Kevin O'Connell spent a lot of time trying to pull Cousins into better mindsets. "Hey man, don't get frustrated. Don't get down." Even after big wins, Kirk refers to the games as "stressful," sort of dwelling on what went wrong. Very interesting.

▪️ Overall, just a fascinating peek behind the curtain of life as an NFL quarterback. It highlighted the reasons why Cousins is a very good QB. It also highlighted some of the things that hold him back.

I'm now FULLY fired up for the 2023 NFL and Vikings season 🔥🔥🔥

According to Boomer Esiason the Vikings have a $7 million offer on the table for Dalvin Cook to return

I wonder how he knows this?

Tom you knew for an absolute fact it was a joke and yet you choose to perpetuate the lie. I thought you were better than that, but you're not.

Just because your intention is to be funny ... that doesn't excuse the joke from being arrogant and condescending. Some of the most obnoxiously arrogant and pompously condescending comments in western civilization were meant to be gut-busting, side-splitting, hilarious knee-slappers.

My comment stands; you are too deliberately obtuse to argue with so it doesn't really matter; I am without a doubt no better than that ... so what(?).

If you watch the clip I provided a link for you’ll see that boomer gets dalvin’s agent’s name wrong. This whole thing smells like a favor to dalvin intended to drive up his price which so far we know he considers too low.

I learned I fixed it for you from other posters here. It was one way to point out the difference in my opinion from that of the OP. Only people with very thin skin would let that bother them. Do I need to walk on egg shells?

I'm through ep 4. It is good although I'm much more interested in Kirk than the othere two at this point.

Im certainly amazed at the way PM plays but "I'm here all day" turned my off some - but that prob just shows my age.

i watched the first episode and then fast-forwarded to cousins every other episode...i recognize mahomes as a huge talent, but that last quarter of the afc championship game and that pass interference penalty at the end of the super bowl left me with a bad feeling about the chiefs and mahomes...my respect for the nfl has subsided a bit....

cousins is just what we thought - has the physical talent and toughness, but not the mental makeup of a strong leader or champion - of course, it could happen, but it seems very unlikely....

Any team winning the Super Bowl any given year is unlikely. Yes it is more likely with Mahomes, but I don't want us throwing darts blindfolded trying to come up with the next Mahomes. KC has a better chance than most in making it happen.

I agree. We have him now and by far the best shot we have at winning the SB the next year or two will be with him at QB

Throw darts. Then throw more darts. I’m not going to live forever and I’m tired of kissing my sister.

You might only live one more year, maybe two. You may be best served to go with the date you currently have

It’s my fifth date with this girl and she doesn’t put out.

I think it was a big mistake that we didn't pick a top-five qb in the '23 draft...should have picked Hendon Hooker...so we didn't love him? - just coach him up the best you can....

we will not be in a position to draft a top-two QB in forever, and it seems that we have no plan for 2024 - other than; win the super bowl in 2023 and then resign cousins....

cousins could be the guy if everything else jives...but he'll probably need a lobotomy and electric shock to get there....

I think we should have rolled the dice and took Levis.

Cousin's isn't leading us to anything. We are also way outclassed in the trenches to be even mentioned as a contender.

I like how Netflix lined up the three QBS: the SB winner, the eternal struggler, and the journeyman backup. Different perspectives for each.

I should have added levis - I really meant a top-five qb that we were in a position to pick....

But we didn't ....

This is what we got. He can win us a SB. But not with the defense we had last year. And probably not getting hit 88 times.

Forget the same ol' narrative on Cousins, Is there a chance we will improve in the other areas to have a shot?

What we haven't gotten to see is Cousins in the same offense 2 years in a row. He's a good QB who I expect to be better. The D will be better.

The question is - can KOC get Kirk into the right head space and consistently?

I have my doubts. The team was vibing really well last year and we won a lot of games but couldn't do shit when it mattered. He missed some throws and checked down to end the season. Bad head space surely had something to do with that. You can laugh and be Kirko chains all year but if you go small in the biggest moments it's all for nothing.

Kirk appears to be a nice man and a good husband and father. It's also an edited program showing us the tiniest of slivers of his personal life. I know dozens of men that also appear to be nice men and good husbands and fathers. Hooray for all the nice men in the world.

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!
