I would take Wilson for his remaining year over a new 3 year contract for Kirk...

It actually wouldn't be that bad. There is offset language where Russell wouldn't be able to double dip. Whatever he makes comes minus what the Broncos owe him:
Spotrac
@spotrac
FWIW: Russell Wilson's guarantee next season contains offset language.

If the #Broncos release him next March, the $39M owed to him on the way out would be reduced by however much he earns from a new team in 2024.

A minimum salary for Wilson next year comes in at $1.21M.

He would be a very good solution contract wise

Kirk Stan’s can’t imagine a world without KFC bumbling through his plat alls and needing perfect windows to throw into..

The big argument is he only had 5 ints, in 8 games.. never mind the fact he lead the team to a 4-4 record..

In KFC stan world, he never would lose another game after beating the mighty 69’ers..

“We ShOuLd Be 11-4, If OnLy…”

Russell Wilson: 3070 yards, 26 TDs, 8 INTs 7-8 - WASHED!!!

Cousins: 2331 yards, 18 TDs, 5 INTS 4-4 - WOULD HAVE WALKED INTO THE SUPERBOWL AFTER dESTROYING EVERYONE!!!! AARGG!!!!

And please no replies stating I'm in love with Russell Wilson. Eff that guy. Once again, I'm not saying Wilson is awesome - I'm saying Cousins is over romanticized.

I gave your post a five star---they were talking about the offset language on Mad Dog radio and another station and it would be a great 1-2 year solution.

It would probably be a trade after June 1st.

Yeah it makes you feel yucky but Denver will not have an easy time trading him or recouping draft picks on their mistake.

You look through all the options----he would be one of the better ones under 10 Million.

Just draft a QB.

If you're terrified of starting him Day 1, sign a guy like Minshew as a bridge until you're ready to start the kid.

No more retreads.

85M in Dead Cap if they release him.

I was hoping they would sign Minshew many times---but he again will be one of the better options.

There is muck at QB right now.

There are plenty of guys you can sign as a bridge/back-up.

The key is drafting a god damn QB in the 1st round.

I don't know who is more terrified of 1st round QBs, the Vikings or the fan base.

I’m opposed to this really bad idea that has no chance of happening.

Next!

If I had a farm I’d bet it on the Vikings this week.

I don't see KOC interested in bringing in Russ.

I was a big fan of his in his prime... but if Payton can't get anything from him, he is probably done.

That being said, I LOVE the steam.

Any semi legit bridge qb on the market gives the Vikes some leverage if Kirk plays big money hardball (assuming they try to resign him... and I think they will)

If Hall starts.

How about Hall as a bridge to the 1st Rounder? Cheaper and maybe Hall has some Purdy like success and we roll with him.

And you can probably find a way to sign JJ and Hunter.

Probably my ideal option.

That's why Hall is the only logical option the last 2 games. See what he's got in 2 games that will probably mean a lot to both teams we play.

Kevin O’Connell says he is benching Nick Mullens and turning to Jaren Hall. Mullens has thrown 6 INTs in 2 starts. “We have to maintain possession of the football.”

Makes it interesting at least.

Hit the sweet spot young man. Somewhere between Kevin’s conservative formulaic approach and your 2 reckless predecessors.

Pretty amazing opportunity. Too bad it didn’t come a game or 2 ago.

Mullens is the ant that can’t move that rubber tree plant.

Laughing thinking of that Montage.

High hopes…craps the ball as he’s sacked. High hopes…farts out a pop fly INT.

Hall, good. Only two games to see what he has but that's better than nothing. It's an opportunity to be in the mix for backup QB next year... just don't turn the ball over!

Yeah basically this move is coming six quarters too late. But I'm happy it's happening now.
