On most other teams Zuccarello and Johannsen are 3rd line players

I think Zucc is a top 6 on most teams. He’s about a point a game player over the last 3 years. Rossi is on the road to being a top 6. Johanesen is definitely a 3rd line player. He has no real offensive skills, but he is a great skater and has a high IQ, which lets him slot up when there is nobody else available.

A point per game player by passing to KK for the past 3 years which helps. Over his career he has always been more of a passer just like Johannsen, so Rossi needs to become the shooter if that line stays intact for long.

That Viking disaster made me forget the Wild were playing the Nucks. Got the win at least.

I spent more time on the Wild game than the Vikes.....
It as a pretty good game. Open ice was hard to be had and both goalies were on their games. Looks like the Gus Bus is back in form now and playing great. I'm surprised we are holding up with both Brodin and Spurgeon out.

Yeah, I figured Floppy would have gotten the start tonight. Hynes taking the pressure off him by starting Gus and giving him the net tomorrow.

They played really well after the 1st period; just too big of a hole to climb out of.

Got the win but it was pretty ugly (although, I missed the 2nd).

We tied it up only to give up another really stupid power play. Can we please stop high sticking guys??

Good resilience though and we actually went on top with Hartman grinding one out. The game tier, to send it to over time from the rat, was all on Tulip, IMO. Dude laid on the ice like the puck was underneath him. It wasn't. Sit up and play dude.

Nice OT win though. KK is starting to "come back".

Stupid stick penalties have been killing us all season, we were lucky to get a win this time. Our 3rd D pair has been getting beat badly on the road because we can't hide them with last change. I have always liked Goose's game, but he just can't keep up any more at his age.....good thing this is his final year under contract. I agree, KK is starting to look like he has his burst back and his skating is looking smooth and easy again.

Fairness in savegery: the tying goal was on the Dandelion, but he was lights out before that. Boston controlled the play.

Good to see KK finding his groove. We desperately need that with Zucc now week to week with the dreaded upper body injury.

That third defensive pairing is going to kill us. With all of the great defensemen allegedly in the system, bring a couple of them up.

Couldn't agree more. Like you guys have said. Goose and Merrill are toast at this point. Just the speed upgrade alone would cancel out the inexperience.

Problem is, Billy has us so up against the cap he can't make any moves. Signing all those old guys to extensions means they have to play no matter how bad they are.....

From what I saw out of Mermis and Hunt (mostly skating ability)----wonder what pics of Billy they have.

Wild win another one in OT over Montreal, with Kirill getting the game winner. Rossi with a 3 point night and getting a Gordie Howe hat trick in the process. Faber another 30+ minute night and a goal too.
The young guys are starting to take ownership of this team and showing they want it.

Rossi's fight was because he was standing up for Kaprizov who had just gotten run on a cheap hit. First hockey fight of his life and it was against someone 6 inches taller than him.

Yeah, he was overmatched in that fight, but he sure went a long way towards showing BG he has some FU to his game! I love the way he seems to be getting better and better as the season goes on.

Just one of those satisfying games to watch from beginning to end. There were places where the Canadiens dominated a bit, but overall you could tell the Wild players were focused and on fire. It IS a bit disconcerting that we have so many games go to overtime, but our young team can handle the extra minutes.

Yep it's not about winning or losing a fight. It's about standing up for your teammates. Rossi is finally living up to his draft hype.

And Wild players keep dropping like flies with upper body injuries.

At least they have been against the East so it doesn't hurt too much but yeah. That's been a pattern for years.

The bummer is we have a bunch of guys on 2 way contracts that are higher than we can afford to move back and forth. Lettieri is the only one that fits so we know why he signed so cheap....he gets more shots at playing in the show.

Yup, they are back to being a fun team to watch. Every guy on the team is smiling and having fun playing for each other and that was lost with Dean behind the bench. Hynes has breathed some new life into them and has them playing fast. I still hate that it seems our only breakout is up the boards and every team in the league knows it and has their defense pinching, but at least we are winning some board battles now.
