Scott Foster is the dirtiest ref in the game. Everyone knows it.

Foster has been labeled as the worst referee in the NBA by anonymous players polls ranging from 2016 to 2023. He has also been nicknamed "The Extender" because teams trailing in playoff series have often won games he has officiated, thus lengthening the number of games played. The records show disgraced referee Tim Donaghy placed 134 calls to referee Scott Foster — more than the 126 calls Donaghy made to his girlfriend — between October 2006 and April 2007, the period during which he has confessed to either betting on games or passing on game information to gamblers. The majority of the phone calls lasted no more than two minutes and occurred prior to and after games Donaghy officiated and on which he admits wagering.

The NBA should look into this and consider firing Scott Foster.

The league mankes too much money off sports betting.

Barreiro laughed at you conspiracy theorists on this matter for a good portion of yesterday's show.

All the more reason to believe it. Barreiro is the consumate "smarter than everyone else" type person.

Barreiro knows less about the NBA than Paul Allen.

He hasn't had a decent take since he was paired with Chad Hartman.

Big win! Conley was on fire. Schedule looks tough though. Will need Ant to be at his best and no more injuries.

I don't even know what Edwards is made of. I thought he had a season ending injury in the Spurs game. Nope, not him. He's Wolverine. Old school tough.

Having said, even with Towns healthy, we are not there yet.

We're getting closer though.

Another big night for Conley. First time playing in Utah since the trade, they gave him a video tribute before the game. Nd he scores a season high 25. He carried them at times.

It’s such a comfort to have him around. A guy who you know will always make the right play. Even when it’s calling his own number, when by the way he’s the best 3 point shooter on the team.

Continue to use him smartly, limit his minutes and rest him when you can, keep him fresh for the playoffs, and good things will happen.

I’ve never been a believer in moral victories. Real victories are the only ones that count. But this one felt like a moral victory.

They played with no rest and with their three bigs unavailable against the best big in the league. And took them down to the final shot.

They still have two more against Denver. They will be great games. And besides Denver the rest of the schedule is very favorable. Only 4 more road games.

I couldn't agree more. That's team building, confidence stuff right there.

And a special shout out to McDaniels. I was about to post that we may need to rethink his future because he has looked lost or non-existent at times on offense. And then he turns in a 26 point performance and looked super confident and assertive in doing so.

Finchy must have got in in his ear and said look, we're down some bodies and this is a big game. We need more out of you.

Real nice team win tonight. I think everyone who played made a positive contribution. The cherry on top was OKC losing!

21-40 on threes. We out-warriored the Warriors.

I loved the early 4th quarter rally with a lineup that included Monte and Conley together dissecting the defense, and NAW knocking down 3s. That was fun.

Very enjoyable! NAW has been shooting so well!

We're stuck with Taylor...

quote:

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Glen Taylor, Chairman of Taylor Sports Group, Inc., the general partner of Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Limited Partnership (“Timberwolves and Lynx”), this morning confirmed the expiration of the option of Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez to acquire controlling interest in the Timberwolves and Lynx.

Under terms of the purchase agreement, the closing was required to occur within 90 days following the exercise notice issued by Lore and Rodriguez. That 90-day period expired on March 27, 2024.

Under certain circumstances, the buyer could have been entitled to a limited extension. However, those circumstances did not occur.

“I will continue to work with Marc, Alex and the rest of the ownership group to ensure our teams have the necessary resources to compete at the highest levels on and off the court,” said Taylor. “The Timberwolves and Lynx are no longer for sale.”

The relationship between Taylor and his successors – Lore and Rodriguez – disintegrated over the past two-plus years, sources tell ESPN. Lore/Rodriguez did raise money necessary to purchase controlling interest, but Taylor contends that they didn’t meet contractual deadlines throughout transition.

Oh boy. Grandpa says not so fast with completing the sale. Somehow I’m not surprised. I’m sure more detail will come out, but KFAN cited a report saying the money was lined up, but they they didn’t meet certain conditions and Glen nixed it.

Maybe Glen got wind of plans for the team he didn’t like? I doubt if relocation was a possibility though. NBA owners would much rather expand before allowing a move. And the Twin Cities have been a pretty good market despite the Wolves sucking for decades prior to this year.

Edit: Yes the tweet in the previous post is the one they were referring to on KFAN.

Glen will get at twice what he agreed to sell it for to Lore/ARod when he tries again.

Lore's team had 3 years to get the money and missed every single deadline.

The fact that they couldn't figure it out, despite getting a sweetheart deal makes them look like frauds.

No one looks good here.

+1
They were supposed to have it paid by end of last year and they were trying to get the last bit thru an investment bank that fell thru and odds are it wasn't guaranteed to be approved after they found a possible replacement.
