Rumor is that Connelly has an opt out of his contract if Taylor stays owner. That was the best gift Denver gave us. Not wanting to pay him.

Its not a rumor and it has nothing to do with Taylor. He's always had an opt-out after Year 2.

With the talent on this team it would surprise me he would leave.

It'll probably depend on how he feels about the direction of the team once ownership is settled.

I read it originally was 5/40 with some ownership too. With how he was treated in Denver (financially) and not officially being given credit for that title I see him seeing this one thru but who knows....

He never got ownership. That was debunked before he even signed the contract.

It has some escalators for performance and has always had an option after the 2nd year.

I don't blame him for asking for it to be in the contract. 2 years was when the transfer of power from Taylor to Lore-Rod was supposed to take place. That gave him plenty of time to see if it was an ownership that he wanted to work under.

The current clusterfuck may be clouding the waters.

These playoffs are certainly showcasing some of the best guard talent I've seen in a long time.
Brunson, SGA, Ant and I could go on. Remarkable performances.
Still worry about OKC as much as anyone. They are the real deal and so young!

I'm not sure how they beat us unless SGA gets 35 FTAs/game.

They're really good, but they have .75 bigs in their rotation.

That is a legit concern. I watched part of game one vs Dallas and he was going to the line a lot. Not sure why the refs won't let anyone even breathe on him. We need the same officiating crew that is doing our series with Denver.

Apparently Lore and ARod submitted the money a week before the deadline.

This is a great video. Pablo Torre (especially) and Zach Harper take a really deep dive into everything going on.

Bottom line: Glen Taylor is a fraud, has always been a fraud, and will continue to be a fraud. He is the Donald Trump of the NBA and is proud of it.

Skor North reported that one Investment Bank fell thru and there was an extension and they where trying to go thru a second one....lots of muddy waters on this one.

I see an owner that kept us in MN and wants the trophy if it is won this year as he has been the one writing all the checks. That is probably worst case scenario for Lore and Alex as they want the credit (as they pushed for Connelly) but ownership really isn't tranferred until NBA approves it. It will be decided one way or another after the playoffs....but Lore and Alex's investment has doubled basically in 3 years since they bought them cheaper than it should have been sold.

That is before whatever the team does in this years playoffs.

Yes he stepped in and kept the team here, but he's a pretty weaselly dude and not a very good owner, despite whatever business acumen he may have elsewhere. Look at the Joe Smith fiasco for one example.

I think the current situation has two equal causes. 50% The value of the team has sky rocketed since this deal began. So Glen is trying to use failure to dot some ‘i’s and cross ‘t’s, or at least some ambiguity suggesting that to can the deal.

And 50%, Glen is just weird. The Wolves are finally a contender after decades of awfulness, and it would kill Glen to step out of the limelight at this exact moment. He wants to be slapped on the back. I’m sure ARod and Lore could have arranged for some back slapping even though he wouldn’t be the principal owner any more. All they’ve done is try to placate him through this whole process. But that wouldn’t be good enough for Glen. He needs to be the man.

What I DON’T think was a factor was the story about the new owners wanting to cut payroll. That was just cover. It’s not uncommon for new ownership to submit conservative projections and up it later.

Lore and Rodriguez's preferred investment bank (Lore had done multiple transactions using them) had not yet been approved by the NBA. They substituted an NBA pre-approved bank and submitted before the deadline. Taylor wants everyone to think the waters are muddy, but they aren't.

In any sport, elite players shine the brightest in the playoffs. Some players wilt and others excel.

Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves has more than embraced the spotlight: He has taken it over.

Through six playoff games (all wins), Edwards has launched himself into the discussion as the NBA’s best American player. He is averaging 32.3 points and shooting 54.7 percent from the field, including 41.9 percent from 3-point distance on seven attempts per game. And he’s also contributing 6.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.

Edwards’ leap is a big reason why the Wolves swept the Phoenix Suns and have a 2-0 series lead on the defending champion Denver Nuggets.

ANT needs to dominate the 2nd half or we lose.

KAT is the only wolf to play well in the 1st.

Well everyone locally and nationally went gaga over the Wolves this past week. Now it’s time to overreact the other way: The Nuggets are back, They flexed their championship muscle. The Wolves will choke.

The truth lies somewhere in between.

Cleveland routed Boston too for crying out loud. It happens. The NBA playoffs are a two month grind. There will be bumps in the road.

Here is what I think with absolutely no way to prove it.

Denver is the defending champion for a reason. The game 2 humiliation and all the media hype, proclaiming their demise, fueled their pride and they came out on fire.

The Wolves got caught up in their press clippings and thought the series was in the bag.

Again, no way to prove it. Just my opinion.

Agreed. Lost in the Wolves mania was the fact that Denver still is a very good team.

This is going to be a battle.

The Wolves offense couldn't get out of their own way.

KAT reverted to doing stupid things and crying to the refs.

Rudy made the money sign to the ref again.

Denver's pathetic bench kicked our bench's ass.

The end of the first half was about as embarrassing as any moment in Wolves history.

The only positive is that despite all of it, we only lost by eight.
