A chess match like we’ve maybe never seen.

The hard part is having faith in Kwesi. Not a lot of believers in his 2 years of work. But here he is in one of the most pivotal times making things happen. Make the right moves and get the right guy.

If he’s successful I sure as hell will flip and be a believer.

But I very much doubt he will be successful.

Another really big factor:

There are 4 QBs and 3 WRs that are expected to go in the Top 8 picks.

AZ at 4 and LAC at 5 are both absolutely dying for a top WR.

That makes both of those teams less likely to trade down to 11 unless we're offering crazy value.

It also makes the Giants pick at 6 significantly more valuable than our 11 - because either team could trade down to 6 and guarantee a Top 3 WR still.

So Penix at 11 might be the most realistic option.

BUT...

I could easily see the Bears trading down from 9 to 12 or 13 to let the Broncos or Raiders poach our guy.

I don't think we can consider standing pat at 11

We don't have to draft a QB this year. More will be available next if this year doesn't work out. I personally feel this year will work out.

I think Kwesi thinks it is QB or bust this year

And because of that, I think we will get a QB or bust

You're probably right. I just pray it doesn't include a trade up.

I don’t see any way that Kwesi waits and enters his final year needing a rookie QB to save his job.

I just hope that getting a QB in the draft doesn't involve a trade up.

I read articles in ESPN and CBS that the Vikings are trying hard to trade up to #3 in hopes of getting Maye. The articles indicate that their chances hinge on what Washington does at #2. If Daniels is still on the board, there is no chance of the Pat's trading out of that pick. If Daniels is gone, the Pat's could be a willing trade partner because they don't like Maye.

I hope they get the chance to trade up for Maye. He's a great prospect, appears to be a good scheme fit. It's absurd to believe he would drop to 11.

Probably will and I hate it with a burning passion. I think Nix and Penix will be every bit as good as McCarthy and Maye.

He's nothing special and will most likely end up an average QB in the long run. About 15th to 20th best in the NFL.

Still not sure how we get to 3 because I just don’t think 4 or 5 will be available for a pick as low as 11.

11 and 23 is plenty for pick 4. I can see a 3 way where the Vikings get 4, the Cards get 5 and a bone thrown their way, and the Chargers get 11 and 23.

I don’t see us having a problem getting to 3 for 11 + 23 + 25 1st and 3rd.

To 1 for Williams - 0% chance
To 2 for Daniels - 5% chance
To 3 for Maye - 50% chance
To 5 for JJ - 75% chance

Looking at each option individually.

I say we leave them as they are and choose the best offensive lineman at #11 and Penix at #23.

For 11 & 23? I see that as very doable. Unless those teams have specific players that they can't do without. With 4 QB's going in the top 10 and 6 QB's probable before 23, more good players at other positions will be pushed to those draft spots. The Bucs and the Chargers can both accelerate their rebuilds with an additional first round pick.

Pennix has a strong accurate arm, is old, immobile and stunk it up in the big game. Sounds like another QB you despise.

We are going QB with a pick in the first round..

Book mark it.

Who and where in the first round?

Only time will tell..

Speculate all you want..

There is too much out of fan control and management insider information and intent, that we do not know..

Just my opinion, but Queasy and KOC are under a lot of scrutiny and pressure to get the next QBOTF, now, or GTFOOTWTS.

You can definitely bookmark it.

If you honestly see us standing pat at 11 and taking a non QB - you are out of touch.

I read this morning that it is the Commanders that are more open to a trade and that the Pats are going to stay at 3 for their QB

That is the opposite of what I'd been hearing prior...

Can't believe anything at this time

But it is also a reminder that no matter how much we are willing to give up to trade up, if the teams there are set on taking one of the "top 3" QB's, then we are screwed

I think it will feel like quite a letdown to be "stuck" with McCarthy at 5

There is over a month to the draft..

Nothing is in or out of the realm of possibility, except maybe getting the #1 overall..

I’ll be fine with McCarthy at 5 but let’s run with the rumour Washington is open for business.

Up to 2!!!!
