Bo Nix is an athletic Christian Ponder.

It's a terrible comparison. Ponder never once threw for more than 20 TD's in college, playing in a balanced offense. Not sure what corner of the internet suggested he was anything like Christian Ponder.

The video I saw analyzing Nix, the former QB kept talking about Nix having REALLY good accuracy, even on his longer throws, the ball placement was incredible sometimes.

As long as he stayed to short passes like Nix.

Nix was accurate when he threw long passes also. Nix is the one that I want but all that matters is what KAM wants.

Nix is athletic, accurate, scrambler who pulls big plays out of his ass and makes great reads. There's a lot to like. His detractors try to knock his arm strength because Oregon didn't throw long much, but when they did he was fine.

He is two years younger than Darnold. Is he better than Darnold?

You draft someone you think can be a superstar.

When a guy throws 45 touchdowns against three interceptions and completes 77.4% of his passes, I think he has plenty of arm talent.

Define arm talent.

Doesn’t drive the ball. There’s too much push and loft.

And number of college QB’s have had sick #’s that didn’t translate to the next level.

Simple 2 step deal - Could even be done in one swoop as a 3-way deal.

MN trades #11 and #23 to Chargers for #5

MN then trades #5 and 2025 #1 pick to NE for #3

MN gets their QB.
NE gets their QB, WR or OL along with a #1 pick in 2025.
LAC gets 2 #1 picks this year.

We aren't getting into the top 3 without using the 2025 #1 pick.

Tons of Percy Harvin 1 yard passes that don't require tight windows like the medium and deep passing in the pros. These are also the passes that the athletic Josh Dobbs or Justin Fields can't make consistently and reason why they are backups.....another example of this is Marcus Mariota who was supposed to be better than Nix and came out of the same system.

Nix was also shown really struggling on those type of passes during the Senior Bowl.

There was a joke apparently called Bubble Screen Bo....more information:

27.6% of Nix’s passing attempts were thrown behind the line of scrimmage with a completion rate of 95.5%. 39.4% of his passing attempts were between 0-9 yards downfield with a completion rate of 82.8%.

7.0 ADOT is pretty low and the only notable QB with a lower figure is Cade Klubnik at 6.9. UAB’s Jacob Zeno had CFB’s lowest ADOT at 5.5 yards. Highest in the P5 was Jalen Milroe at 13.9.

Other QB’s ADOT for reference:

Michael Penix: 11.3
Jayden Daniels: 10.5
Caleb Williams: 9.2
Quinn Ewers: 8.4
Carson Beck: 8.5
Shedeur Sanders: 8.5
JJ McCarthy: 10.3
Drake Maye: 11.0

Bo Nix still did incredibly well when throwing the ball greater than 10 yards. He had 26 TDs and 2 interceptions on those throws.

How about this: Vikings trade 11 and 23 and next years 1 to LAC for Justin Herbert

If the Chargers trade Herbert over $100 Million immediately hits their salary cap. It pretty much can't be done.

Thank you Phil. Just because he didn't throw deep very often doesn't mean he can't. He ran the offense presented by his coach to perfection.

Herbert is untradable until probably after the 2027 season. If we trade for him this summer:

Pre June trade - 2024 dead cap hit 108M
Post June trade - 2024 dead cap hit 13M and 2025 dead cap hit 95M

As has been discussed.

Plus why we go huge contract QB to huge contract QB?

The plan is rookie on a 5 year rookie contract. Nothing else to consider.
