No matter what you think of Darnold/Jones ect you have to appreciate that this regime is not sitting on a particular QB like KC's. It's been reported several times that the old regime wouldn't bring in real talent behind him so he wouldn't get upset with the competition. Basic clipboard holders that couldn't really challenge him but help with studies.
Who knows how this plays out but KAM and KOC have 3 top 10 QB's on the roster. At least they aren't leaving stones unturned.
This regime did sit on Cousins, until they didn't.

Agree they are at least trying, and Jones is a good move for now. Hopefully Mullens hits the road, although he is fun to watch from a pure entertainment perspective.

we have to figure out a way to profit from rebuilding broken qb's....
we could work out a handshake deal if the receiving team could accept darnold/jones with a franchise/transition tag....
i realize that I sound like an a-hole, but hey, it's business, and those qb's came to us because with o'connell and mccown we substantially upgrade their talent/ability....
In hind sight Kwesi should have added an option year for next season with Darnold.
I'm sure Darnold and his agent insisted on a one year deal. It is working out perfectly for him.
We can get a compensatory pick for him(Darnold).
And we are set up with JJM and Jones for next year. On the cheap.
We don't have Jones for next year. If we sign him, it's probably a Darnold redux situation. Let's say Jones plays similar to Darnold and the team is winning. Is Jones benched to get JJM in? Or is JJM anointed the starter on day 1? Just like of wondering what the thought process for Jones is WRT signing here.
I think JJM is annointed starter unless there is continued injury problems. I don't think you tell Jones that when we are trying to re-sign him.
if jones resigns, it will be for backup money, i.e. $5mm/yr...we'll be paying him for pro NFL quarterback camp, and if he's smart, he'll take it....
if healthy, mccarthy definitely starts next year - we're going to spend our money building the team out....
