Anybody catch the greatest play-by-play guy in the business (just ask him) calling that first 4th down stop?

Buck "Bo Richter, the undrafted rookie with a heck of a play there".

I was like "wtf is Richter in on a 4th down play at this point in the season?????? "

it was Tillery

Gotta give props to Turner for that sick knee bend on the sack. I hadn’t really seen anything like it. That’s 99th percentile stuff right there.

Greenard, hilarious 😂:

"I tell everybody that a strip sack is the best feeling in the world. Sorry to my wife, by the way."

Q: Do you really mean that?

Greenard: "100 percent. She knows."

One nitpick because it's hard to at 12-2 but still.

Chandler: "coach, why can't I get on the field on offense?"

KOC: "you can't pick up a blitz"

Chandler: "coach Daniels, can I get some PT at special teams?"

Daniels: "yeah, lets use you as our last line of defense picking up the oncoming punt block rush"

KOC has a 12-2 record with Sam Darnold.
All other coaches are 21-35 with Sam Darnold.

KOC has a 17-8 record with Kirk Cousins.
All other coaches are 66-66-2 with Kirk Cousins.

KOC has a 2-2 record with Josh Dobbs.
All other coaches are 1-9 with Josh Dobbs.

I agree...mccarthy will be able to do everything that darnold is doing, and we can feast during free agency....

o'connell should watch some film on the better 'west coast' offenses and develop his short passing game - get some plays with two running backs in the game (no fullback) and utilize chandler in open space....

I hope Caleb Williams isn’t the last QB we see this year, gassed, beat up, and defeated on the sidelines.

It was sweet to see.

We’re packing on offense and Defense and should be striving to play our complete game.

This is just silly. Your current quarterback is 12-2. Your future quarterback is 0-0. Why would anyone ever risk something that works for something that has the potential to work. You know how hard it is to get to 12-2? Look at the Vikings history.

JJ McCarthy has never run a pass-first offense. He's rarely played from behind. He knows very little about running a two-minute offense or closing out a half in the NFL. Rarely had to do any of them at Michigan. Now he's coming off a torn meniscus.

I think the most-likely scenario is that the Vikings franchise tag Darnold. If not, they should.

Having said that, there is still three games left on the schedule and then the playoffs. The road ahead looks much tougher than the one in the past.

My biggest fear heading into 2025 is not having Brian Flores. That has as much to do with being 12-2 as anything else.

How do you know McCarthy will be able to do everything Darnold can do? I was all in on drafting the kid, but come on, Darnold is top 4 in the NFL right now and has led his team to a 12-2 record. Sam was also a much more heralded QB coming out of college with a bigger frame and a bigger arm. Add to that, McCarthy is rehabbing a torn cartilage, which is much trickier than a ligament.

We've been waiting a lot of years for a QB in his 20's who can do the things Sam is doing right now. I wouldn't be too quick to assume the unproven next guy up will step right in and do the job.

Darnold’s ceiling isn’t high enough for him to start eating 35 mil + for any length of time.

We need the guy on a rookie deal and that guy is waiting in the wings. I guarantee JJM has put in the work. Breaking down every game. Every pass, route and options. With the QB whisperer we’ll be fine.

Many coaches and GM's have been fired for that type of voodoo thinking.

Exactly. That is well-wishing in its highest form.

If the Vikings finish the regular season with 14 or 15 wins, Sam Darnold will be your starting quarterback next year. Bank on it. Short of losing the next four games, I think they franchise tag him.

As David pointed out:
"KOC has a 12-2 record with Sam Darnold.
All other coaches are 21-35 with Sam Darnold.

KOC has a 17-8 record with Kirk Cousins.
All other coaches are 66-66-2 with Kirk Cousins.

KOC has a 2-2 record with Josh Dobbs.
All other coaches are 1-9 with Josh Dobbs."

Trust in KOC.
If he believes JJM has a higher ceiling you move on... we shall see.

Are they having success because of KOC, or Brian Flores? The offense was okay when O'Connell showed up. The defense was arguably the worst in the league when Flores showed up, and the names aren't exactly household names. My biggest fear is that Flores leaves, not Darnold. When Flores showed up they were 28th in points against. Now they are fourth. They gave up over 25 points-per-game in 2022.

Lets not forget how bad this team was on defense three years ago. I'd give Flores $5-million just to coach the defense. The turnaround is Belichickian in nature.

His ceiling? He already has the most 100+ rating games in Vikings history (11)....that is a pretty high ceiling with 3 games left.

What is funny is that most of these guys hated Cousins because he was a check-down Charlie. Darnold presses the ball downfield and looks to make plays, which is far more difficult throwing into coverage.

Some of these people have short memories.

Phil, you and I have a very short list of things we agree on, but this is one of them.

A lot of it was cap related. They spent a lot of resources on defense last offseason but Flores has developed plenty of UDFA and lower level FA......Redmond and Pace. Lower level FA Ward and LB Hill.

Sam extends plays and throws daggers.....exactly what KOC wants in his offense.
He doesn't check down....especially on plays he extends.
