18/41, 166 yds, 4.0 ypa. 0 TDs.

So much for QB rating, lol.

Most everything was the same as the other games, except one major difference:

Sam Darnold choked one for the ages.

He didn't play well. I don't think anyone would deny that. But the coach has got to recognize the pitfalls during the game and make adjustments. You can't keep running 30-yard routes when your quarterback is getting pressured. It's just stupid.

The good thing is, a win next Monday gives him a second chance to come up with a legitimate game plan the next time they see each other.

You are literally unable to say he stunk. KOC, the OL, the QB... they all stunk. And Darnold threw several unforced errant passes.

He didn't stink. He had no chance to stink.

The coach didn't put him in a position to succeed. He really didn't miss one wide open receiver the entire second half, because there were no wide open receivers.

I'm not sure what game you were watching, but you may want to go back and watch it again. I'm not sure what your expectations are, but he can't throw the pass and catch it all on his own. Guys were covered.

Especially in the 2nd half Jefferson and Hockenson were covered. Guys were on them like glue. I'm still shocked by that.

Exactly. You can't run 25-yard routes when they are sending six against our horrific line. It's coaching malpractice. You could have the greatest quarterback of all time back there and it wouldn't matter.

Quite frankly thos group reeks of being frontrunners. Sure they can beat the Cardinals and Falcons etc. They got punched in the mouth 3 times thos year. They lost them all. Seems like a bunch of weenies that are probably just happy to be in the playoffs at this point.

I'm actually glad it happened tonight. Now they know what won't work against a good team. It's a good wake-up call for O'Connell. You can't just lay all the blame on one guy. It was an offensive TEAM collapse. Play-calling, execution, you name it.

And can somebody please explain to me why O'Connell sent our starters out there with five minutes left? That was just stupid. The game was over. Next week is the playoffs. Quit pouting and start planning.

Up and down it was the worst night of his career. He looked like a guy not ready to coach in the spotlight.

Going for it on fourth down when you just got stopped on seven straight plays? That's just arrogant and stupid. It was the first quarter for crying out loud. Take the points.
It's a marathon, son!

It was a good lesson to learn. If they win next Monday it will be a much different story the next time around provided the coach can pull his head out of his ass and come up with a decent game plan.

And I've got news for Detroit, Philly is easily the best team in the NFC right now.

Kansas City also has a horrific offensive line. You don't see them running 30-yard routes on every play. They nickel and dime it down the field and force the defense to make plays. We definitely don't have Mahomes, but they don't have Jefferson or Addison either. O'Connell has to be smarter. He isn't playing the Bears, Jaguars, Titans or Jets any more.

Our super bowl was Green Bay last week. Giving Sam a post game champagne bath was not a good look for a regular season game especially when you didn't clinch anything. Seems like we're happy to just be in the playoffs.

I would agree that the champagne bath was a bad look. Again, that stuff all starts at the top. The coach is acting young and inexperienced. No need to crack a champagne bottle until you actually win something important.

Another thing. Don't bring back Aaron Jones. What a nothingburger. Always hurt. At least these moves become more clear for next year.

And I'll say it again like I said it last week. Please park a Brinks Truck in front of Brian Flores' house. He is the 2024 Season MVP. Despite the woeful performance by the offense tonight he had me believing five minutes into the second half that we still had a chance to win. The guy is a bonified WITCH!

The real difference maker as far as coaching goes does seem to be Flores. They've covered up a lot of stench from the offense.

The guy is really good and he has done it with a bunch of no-name guys. After what I saw tonight, I wouldn't mind if he were the HEAD coach.

O'Connell has done some nice things. I'm not saying I'm ready to bail on him. But hopefully this was a learning moment. He looked very young tonight, from start to finish.

I think the problem is people were anointing him the greatest coach ever far too soon. I need to see some playoff wins before I even begin to entertain that type of thinking. He gets another crack at the Rams. If they look like this again some people will feel very foolish. Great regular season overall. No doubt.

They've had a sensational season. You don't get to 14-3 by accident, especially when your starting quarterback on day one was a guy that no other team in the league wanted due to his previous stops. But there were some obvious things he had going for him in 2024. For one, an extremely soft schedule. It was one bad opponent after another for about eight straight weeks, and it's not like they were blowing them out.

Detroit tried one deep pass, and Harrison Smith intercepted it. The rest was all dink and dunk.

I am not saying you need to go all dink and dunk, but if KOC doesn't figure out he needs to get more dink and dunks, more quick hitters, and stay with the run game more when it's working, then I might not be opposed to making BFlo the head coach.

Having said that, if Darnold hadn't floated so many early passes, it might have been a completely different game, and the play calling could have ended up looking impressive.

Unless the next playoff game or 2 has a different outcome, I am looking forward to seeing what KOC does with McCarthy. McCarthy might not put up the regular season numbers like Sam, but he might elevate his game in the playoffs, like he has done so far in his career.

Detroit does have a lot of starters missing from their defense, so they just blitzed plenty, sandwiched Sam, and constantly held the WRs.

Detroit was flagged for holding the WRs plenty, but it was after they got away with it to stop the previous Vikings' drive. I don't think Detroit can keep getting away with that on a playoff run, eventually they'll be exposed, and the flags will come out right when it happens, instead of a make up call.

Instead of getting called out for bending the PI and holding rules, Detroit is instead complimented for its backups "gritty" play.

Completely out classed and out coached.

Of course it’s us the losers. Us embarrassed. Us setting a record for the WC record yet won’t win a single playoff game.

The newest generation of fans better settle in…this futility shows no sign of slowing. We’ll celebrate 100 years and still won’t have a ring.

Darnold didn’t know what to do his arms when they hoisted him up and that carried over to the game. Just an absolute loser performance. Same with KOC. Jones you can retire with us…if you’re done this year…

Hock…time to go.

I was all in and now I’m all out. This is a dumb team that only ever lets us down. Not even sure I’ll watch next week.

And now the doom and gloom rolls in.

Against one of the beast teams in the NFL.

We lost.

Outcoached.

Outplayed.

Outcared.

Hock was being mauled almost every play the refs do nothing.

The refs iced the kicker for the Lions. Well done refs.

We had probably our worst game when we needed our best. Now we have to go to LA and beat the only other team that beat us this year.

And people were giving me shit for being cynical about our success.

I think they thought they’d have an easy time of it. Roll up and down the field like everyone else had against this banged up Defense. They lost another guy and we still couldn’t do shit.

We showed up like we were 2-14.

This season is NOT memorable at all if we get bounced next week. And I 100% expect we will. Kevin and Sam can’t get the job done.

Get a win next week and everyone forgets what happened yesterday. The most important season starts today. One win at a time.

Did we shit the bed? Yes. Was it a winnable game? Yes.

What we also did was provide a formula for stopping our offense. O'Connell better start figuring it out quickly or it will be an early exit. The players are not changing at this point. The offensive line is miserable. By the way, so is Kansas City's. Darnold has been sacked 48 times and it could have been 68. Yet, he still has the #6 passer rating. The problem is, we are now playing good football teams. Those defensive coordinators are smart and have good players. O'Connell has to be better and for god's sake, make adjustments.

On a side note, can we please put the ridiculous kickoff rules out to pasture? It's just stupid. I don't know who thought that new formula was going to be interesting, but they need to find a new profession.

It’s unreal, Richard. I was calm all day. Feeling positive. I believed. And what do we get? A giant shit burger. And you’re right, the game was nothing I could have predicted. I’m pissed.
