ORIGINAL: Steve Lentz Dang if Lewis stays healthy this kid could be top 5 all time Twin. I get the same early sense on his potential greatness that I got for Edwards on the Wolves. Two incredible athletes that want to be the best. Buxton could have been the same. Lewis is so Uber talented, that only injury can deter his greatness. Is Lewis now the best hitter in baseball? Tough to make the throw with both hands around your throat. I was at both the Tuesday and Wednesday night games. Staumont pitched the ugliest scoreless inning in the history of baseball. We deserved to win that game just for that. I didn't understand not pinch-hitting Jeffers for Vazquez with the winning run (Buxton) on base. Also, with 2 outs, Buxton should have at least tried to steal 2nd. Gary Gaetti September 28 – The Twins suffered their biggest blown lead for a loss in team history. Leading Cleveland 10-0 in the third inning, and 10-2 in the sixth, they lost the 9-inning game 11-10. In the ninth, relievers Ron Davis and Ed Hodge loaded the bases. Hodge allowed a walk-off single. Gaetti had a throwing error in the 6th inning with the Twins leading 10 to 6. Later, in an SI article, G Man acknowledged it is hard to throw to first with both hands around your neck. Despite the collapse in the game and the season, I knew the team had players that could go far into the playoffs and in 87, won it all.
