I have to say. I didn't expect much out of 22 when he came over last year. That's a lot of change for a young guy like that. I did, however, think he would have a much bigger impact at the start of this year than he did. Time to adjust ect....

You can tell he's starting to get much more comfortable. His skating ability is becoming a real asset and he has some pretty good play maker abilities. I'd like to see his role start to increase.

Vinnie Hinostroza made a good debut for the Wild. Off the waiver wire, into the lineup...goal.

And now on the #1 PP! Not bad for a guy that has been in the AHL as much as the NHL the last few years.

It’s only been 1 game but all the Wild players have had a great start to the tournament so far.

Wow, ESPN did a whole segment on the game on Thursday and the guy they brought on was Faber. Kids starting to get national attention.

He's a heck of a young player and great interview too.

I'll take the points but the refs did everything they could do hose us and give Detroit the win. Fun 3rd and OT though.

What a fun ending to a game that looked to be a lost cause. And I agree, there were some calls that make you think ... hmmm.

Yeap, forget for a second their goal that was allowed (which was complete BS, btw). Rossi getting the winner after his "tripping" penalty in OT was poetic justice. I've never seen a guy get his on the shin, take 2 more strides and then fall down because he was "tripped". Made worse because it was Kane.

Exactly. It must take him longer than the average person to fall down. Maybe he thought he lives in slow motion.

Goddammit, I turned it off when it was 1 to 3 and Detroit going on the PP due to the lost challenge. I couldn't agree more about the reffing.

The Wild do what MN teams do. Bringing back a familiar face. Nyquist for a 2026 2nd rounder.

At least Nashville is picking up half of the cap hit this time. I liked Nyquist better than Johansson last time so maybe now we will keep the right one at the end of the season this time.....
BG just doing GM stuff to make it look like he is trying when we all know our season is about done already.

Interesting part is that, apparently, the 2nd rounder was upgraded if they took on that salary. It was a 3rd if not. That means they are keeping cap room for another move. A lot of rumors out there.

I agree about Johansson. I was stoked when they picked him up and have been sorely disappointed since.

One of the big rumors is Ohgren is going to get shipped along with Rossi for a pretty big name. Boeser maybe? Our D should be stacked next year and young. I can see some prospects getting moved too if BG goes all in with kids and uses FA for big name scoring.

I'd be more disappointed if we lost Rossi and Ohgren for 30 goals and no defense out of Boeser! I want to keep the younger guys with upside and find a way to rid ourselves of a team full of 30somethings with NTC contracts.

I wouldn't trade Rossi for Boeser straight up. It wouldn't surprise me to see Ohgren shipped out. His stock has been falling since the night the Wild drafted him.

It might be a pretty interesting week no matter what happens. With LTIR on both KK and JEE as options, we are ripe with cap room with a lot in the offseason too. A lot can happen and you know BG is not afraid of moves, good/bad/ugly.

Rumblings about Centers the Wild are after:
Brock Nelson, N.Y. Islanders 33
Dylan Cozens, Buffalo Sabres 24 (rumor is that the Wild scouts are at all Sabre games) 5/35 left on contract
Scott Laughton, Philadelphia Flyers culture guy
Yanni Gourde, Seattle Kraken 33, 2 time Stanley Cup Champ, and pending UFA
Jake Evans, Montreal Canadiens

Before the trade for Nyquist:

There was interest in Brock Nelson, but it’s hard to know whether the Islanders are even going to trade the pending UFA, so the Wild couldn’t wait and will likely still pursue him if he gets to free agency. Jake Evans from the Canadiens also made sense as a target, but the price likely put him out of the mix. If the Canadiens think they can get multiple draft picks for him, or even up the price to a first-rounder if they package him with Joel Armia, that was too rich for the Wild’s taste.

You guys may not get this joke (and most certainly won't if you got a local feed and not the TNT feed) but Greenway got a lot of PP time last night.

I'm hoping the Nelson chatter is just another "he's a Minnesotan so let's bring him home" thing. No thanks for what he'll cost.

I was reading some of the discuss noted on the Athletic and they were talking about that. Good old TNT using a 3 year old team roster to call the play by play.....

I want nobody in their 30's, we have enough of them already. Brock Nelson is a hell of a player, but he is hitting the age where there is bound to be a drop off so I say we pass.
