Zeev Buium signed a 3 year deal and will be in the lineup for Tuesday's season finale.

I have also heard the Wild are working to get Danila Yurov signed, but he is unlikely to be here until next season.

They can sit Chisolm, the turnover machine, and let Zeev take his spot. With Middleton still hurting I'd love to see Zeev with Faber for a glimpse of our future top pair.

Russo said that the only knock against Zeev is he is so aggressive that he turns the puck over a lot also.

Yurov has apparently sustained a lower body injury and had a procedure to fix it. It can't be too severe as he is expected to be back before the KHL playoffs.

Wild only need to beat the worst team in the league at home to make the playoffs and here we are down 2-1 with 7 minutes left.....

Of course, we had to get it to OT in order to get a win. Fleury in OT was vintage floppy and kind of fun to watch knowing it was probably the last time.
On to Vegas to get our asses handed to us. I predict we get our usual 1 win in the series before we bow out.

Yeap. The Strib article says it all about this franchise. "Fans are angry that the Wild sits ZB but thrilled about OT victory that puts them in the playoffs".

Yeah, I'm thrilled

Oh gosh. I was definitely thrilled by that ending. It seems that we're always the ones who are the victims of a last-second goal that changes the outcome of a game. How cool that this time it was OUR turn to feel that excitement. Like most fans, I had pretty much just resigned myself to a loss and missing the playoffs, so that goal with only 20 seconds left was super fun and yes, thrilling.

I’ll be thrilled when they get out of the first round. Richard Park scoring in OT on a terrible angle or Bruno ending the career of one of the most despicable people to ever put on pads. That thrilled me 😁

As usual, the NHL makes sure Wild fans have to stay up past midnight just watch our team's entire games in the playoffs....
Start times of 9 PM are just plain BS....

Game 1. Pretty much what I expected. Gus was great but they are just wayyyyyy more talented than us. They are bigger AND faster. It looked like they were swatting away gnats, at times.

Yup, I only stayed up for the 1st period and saw us working our asses off just to hang with them. It makes it easier to not stay up late to watch when the result is pretty much a foregone conclusion before the game starts. We just aren't built for playoff games with the big boys......

Thank God you missed most of it. The score was a lot closer than the actual game. Off memory, Gus saved at least 3 clear breakaways.

Rumor has it the Wild won last night......
Or was it early this morning ?
Starting any playoff game after 10 PM is F***n BS. Just so ESPN can say they had a triple header........

I recorded it, but haven't watched it yet. From the summary, it must have been quite a counter-punching effort. Vegas more than doubled us on shots and Wild skaters blocked an additional 30 shots.

The surprising thing through 2 games is that the Wild have out hit the Knights by a wide margin.

It was a pretty exciting game to watch, and man, it felt good to be up 4-0 fairly quickly. Of course, as a long time Minnesota sports fan, there was no way I assumed we would win the game because ... Minnesota sports.

But we did, and it felt grand. Now we really need to take the next two in St. Paul.

It was a bit of a weird game. Gus was great early and, as Lynn alluded to, we had a hot 10 minute stretch where the puck bounces were going our way. I think it was 4 goals on 7 shots. Then LV took over for a good 15 minute stretch and it was coming.....

They were coming in waves and we were desperate to just dump it out in the neutral zone. There was a 15 minute game stretch where we didn't register a shot . Thank God we didn't take dumb penalties or it could have changed quickly.

The 'hit thing' is a bit of a misnomer. Yes, we "checked" them but were basically bounding off. IMO we need to stay off that train. The refs were letting it go and it's not our MO. JEE got slew footed and KK took a punch in the face and neither were called. Stay out of that business.

If we have any chance to advance we need to use our skating ability and stay out of the box.

Jeff, after watching the replay, I think the Wild hit a lot more effectively than you think. There is no way we are going to outskate these guys. The hits are essential. They can't let non calls keep them from playing physical.

I didn't mean to abandon it completely but it's not our go to (or at least, shouldn't be). IMO we aren't going to out physical them. Can't shy away though. That I agree with.

I have a feeling all of our hitting is getting into their defense's heads a little. From what I read and saw watching replays their D are more worried about hitting us back and that could be causing their unforced errors....
If we can keep turning their errors and turnovers in to goals we can stay in this series.

It looks like Fanduel is playing a replay of the game this afternoon at 4 PM. Maybe I will watch it then since I didn't record it last night.

Last nights game was as fun to watch as any Wild playoff game I can remember in a long time. The best part is there are no passengers........everybody is all in on every shift. Love how our top line is completely shutting down their top line and out scoring them by a long shot. Keep it up and they may just suck me all the way back onto the GusBus......

It's crazy. The Wild’s top line is dominating LV's top line. Eichel has been completely throttled through 3 games.

I'll say this. No matter what happens they've done much better than I predicted. If they still this next one at home it's going to get super interesting. One thing we probably forget because I'm not sure we've ever had it. Having the better goalie is a huge advantage to playoff hockey.
