Wolves finish at #6 and will face #3 Lakers in Round 1. Good that they avoided play in. Crazy that they finished 1 game out of the #3 spot. People remember the bad losses lately of course, but my hot take...the Wolves finished 16-4 in their last 20 games. The only losses being 2 to Indiana (including the 'bad' one when IND was down all their starters), a bad loss to NO and the meltdown against Milwaukee. They won every other game, most of them quite easily. Among the wins the epic 2OT win against Denver that started their tailspin that got their coach and GM fired. I think they're finishing the season about as well equipped for the playoffs as last year. If not better. Even though last year's record was better, their last 20 was 13-7. Towns will be missed, but Randle gives them toughness and toughness is a valued playoff commodity. Rudy has never been playing better, in a Wolves uniform anyway. DiVincenzo has taken off, and given them quality guard minutes to ease the burden on Conley, who in turn has responded by returning to old form after a rough start to the season. This team is deeper and better constructed than last year. It just took them a while to figure out what that meant.
