Might as well get it started.

2025 NFL mock draft: Tannenbaum makes GM picks for Round 1

24. Minnesota Vikings
Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Getting Barron at this point in the first round would be outstanding value for Minnesota. He could excel in Brian Flores' defense after posting 20 pass breakups and eight interceptions over the past three seasons. Barron's versatility would be key for the Vikings, who signed Jeff Okudah and Isaiah Rodgers and re-signed Byron Murphy Jr. this month. He played as both a slot and outside corner last season, which means Minnesota could move him to fit what it needs.

2025 NFL mock draft: Matt Miller's predictions for 257 picks

24. Minnesota Vikings
Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky

The Vikings were aggressive in free agency, so they don't have many glaring needs. But there is concern at cornerback, where signees Isaiah Rodgers and Jeff Okudah project more as temporary fixes than long-term solutions. Hairston can definitely be a long-term building block. Not only is he feisty in coverage but he has elite footwork and ran the fastest 40 out of all prospects at the combine (4.28 seconds).

Despite being 5-11, Hairston's long arms can lock down receivers when combined with his quickness. There are size and durability concerns, as he missed five games in 2024 with a shoulder injury, but he has the best movement skills of any corner in this class. The Vikings have to get younger, faster and better at cornerback. Hairston can help them get there and boost their man coverage capabilities.

R3: 97. Minnesota Vikings*
Jalen Rivers, G, Miami

The Vikings filled immediate needs with Ryan Kelly and Will Fries in free agency, but Rivers has swing tackle potential as a rookie and could develop into a starting left guard.

R5: 139. Minnesota Vikings (via CLE): Xavier Restrepo, WR, Miami

R6: 187. Minnesota Vikings (via SF): Aeneas Peebles, DT, Virginia Tech

Love the positional targets in Miller's mock.

Zah Frazier is my "draft crush" this year. Great fit for Flores system.

CB. 6'3, 185lb. 4.37 40.

2024 stats: 20S olo tackles, 1 FF, 6 INTs, 9 PDs.

------------

Zah Frazier is a CB prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored a 9.43 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 145 out of 2509 CB from 1987 to 2025.

https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=27339&ovl=UTSA

-----------

UTSA Roadrunners cornerback Zah Frazier projects as a developmental starter at the NFL level. He’s an elite blend of length and speed, which is the foundation of many highly coveted cornerback prospects.

Frazier is effective most in zone coverage as a deep third defender working from a half-turn. This is an older prospect who is blossoming late in his college career, but teams should be undeterred, as the flashes this year were strong. He’s taken a winding path to the NFL that included three programs and would greatly benefit from the stability of consistent coaching to pull the potential out of his game.

Positives
• Long-limbed and offers a big area of influence at the catch-point
• Explosive straight-line speed and ability to carry routes vertically
• Big-time ball production in 2024 indicates how deep the potential runs

Negatives
• Will be a 25-year-old rookie by the mid-season of his rookie campaign
• Tall, high-cut frame can tax his transitional quickness
• Limited workload and experience at the FBS level with 10 starts at UTSA

-------------

Zah Frazier is the next high upside Day 3 CB from UTSA. He isn’t quite as athletic as Riq Woolen but he has better college tape.
- 6-3 with long arms
- 6 interceptions in 2024 (2nd most in FBS)
- Overwhelming press CB
- Only 1 career missed tackle

-------------

Why does he drop to Day 3?

Turns 25 this year, JuCo transfer who hardly played his first 2 years at a small school (under 100 snaps in 2022-23 combined) before playing well as an overager last year.

Grey Zabel might be BPA when #24 comes around. He's really climbing up the boards and fits our need perfectly. LG who can play Center and also play Tackle in a pinch.

Not a sexy pick but it would make a lot of sense. From all accounts he dominated at the senior bowl.
