Skor North was talking about RB Achane and a writer was throwing out some of his spaghetti. One of his guesses was MN getting Achane for a 2nd and a 5th.

I would not mind that.

So you say the rumor was a 3rd and 5th?

Because I clearly see it says a 2nd and a 5th, which you are fine with.

Maybe you should keep track of your posts before trying to educate me on a new word you found... that turned out to not even apply.

You are just sad and unhappy with either aren't you because you didn't think of it?

Top 5 young RB that is explosive is a need. If they draft one that is fine with me.....last I checked this the Vikes thread not just Bill's opinion only thread.

So you conveniently ignored the 2nd and 5th idea which you tried to sweep under the carpet.

I'm GLAD I didn't think of it because IMO it's a terrible idea.

So once again, pages of the forum are tied up arguing over a hypothetical trade that is never going to happen.

Good point. Alright, I'm done with that.

Exactly.

The Vikings are content with entering this season with Jones and Mason and Xavier Scott...they likely will draft a RB, Love if he falls to them or maybe an Emmett Johnson in the late 3rd or 4th rounds...

They aren't going to trade for a RB that is going to want to get paid big bucks soon.

All it takes is a little bit of critical thought to work this out. Add onto that the Dolphins have publicly stated that they are NOT trading Achane. and the only logical conclusion is the Vikes are not going to trade for him.

So it doesn't matter what draft picks you offer etc....it's all a moot discussion.

Will Anderson Jr. just got $50M a year. Does this make Greenard become a holdout/headache?

Dexter Lawrence is only 28. Can we trade Greenard for draft capital and make some cap room for Lawrence? Not sure what the Giants asking price is. It might be too steep.

Too late.....Bengals traded for him.

What is Grenard worth if Lawrence is worth a mid 1st?

One possibility is adding Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, whom the Eagles have checked in on at various points this offseason, per sources. Greenard had 12 sacks in 2024, but he managed only three last season over 12 games, despite a solid 23.3% pass rush win rate. The Vikings have been adamant about getting a premium Day 2 pick for Greenard. Philadelphia holds pick Nos. 54, 68 and 98 on Day 2 this year.

League sources say the Eagles and Vikings could revisit discussions they already have had during the upcoming draft, but talks have lost steam in recent weeks. The Eagles' wish list of trade candidates goes well beyond Greenard, per sources, though. Roseman almost always has a Plan A, B, C and D, and his team is one to monitor on one of the busiest weekends of the NFL calendar.

#10 is not a mid 1st.

Correct. Is he worth a mid first round pick even. I wouldn’t have traded a first for him.

Vikes should wait out a first for Grenard but rumored asking price is mid 2nd or they keep him.

If we don't get a really good value offer for him before or during the draft I would just wait until after the draft.

Then, either he's on the team or you acquire 2027 draft pick(s). Which is widely considered a much better draft.

Rumor is Philly is our best offer and it isn't good enough. 2027 and 2028 are supposed to be better drafts.

WR Jerry Juedy and Diggs Debo Jennings still FA

DE Clowney available

So the $$$ freed up by Greenard trade could be used this way.

we also 5th-year'd addison...jennings = $20mm/yr...a multi-year deal would give us flexibility in terms of trading addison, or jefferson in a year or so....

golday's playing positions in 2025....

edge = 105 snaps
off ball lb = 325 snaps
nickel back = 225 snaps

those are not exact snap counts, but close to it....

Gabriel Davis and Jahan Dotson are relatively young and had some good (like, WR3 type) years earlier in their careers.

Man the 49ers got by cheap with him....he is looking to get paid finally. Some of the others (Diggs, Debo, etc. have made some $$$).

The link that Bill included has Jennings market value at $22 million.

i'd look at jennings as a possible future #2...if we pick up an old guy, and then draft a young guy in '27 - he'd be a question mark....

i think that jennings works well for our future needs....

Quite a few variables. Jeff nailed it: Depends on what Jennings thinks his role is and how much he wants. Also, what the team thinks about each of those things. Now and in the near term.

Assuming there is real interest on both sides, there is a lot to talk about. Going to agree with the guy on the video, Jennings isn't going to get what he thinks he he's worth... unless Minny says we value you as a high #2 WR and broadcasts we're not going to extend knucklehead Addison (who might be sleeping on an LA freeway).

And is KOC thinking he gave Flores most of the draft so in return he can go hog wild with UFAs on offense, cap be damned?

clowney is good value...his price estimate is $6mm on spotrac - 8.5 sacks last season....

von miller had 9 sacks last season and is also estimated at $6mm....

Both are getting long in the tooth (Miller 37, Clowney 33).......add Cam Jordan 36 to this list. I think Clowney may have the most in the tank but that would be a guess.

spotrac says....

jordan...$6.7mm
clowney...$5.6mm
miller...$5.6mm
jennings...$22.6mm

i thought jordan was a dt...he had 10 sacks last year....
if we can play jordan inside, i'd sign both him and clowney....

i would try to sign jennings for $50mm/3yrs....
