Bill, my post 1420, was referring to post 1418, before your Breece Hall nonsense.

What I was suggesting was not an improbable Vikings TD by any means, the Vikings proved they could score TDs against Chicago in Chicago with McCarthy at QB, no reason to think they couldn't do it at home, which they also did. My scenario just offers the idea of an attempt to take time off the clock before doing so.

This is an automated reply from Bill: I am done with your stupidity on this.

So you believe Chicago would actually let ~35 seconds run off the clock inside of a minute with three timeouts

Yes, have seen it 100 times. When there is just 50 seconds left on the clock, it is rare to see the defense using timeouts, they probably hope the offense will bungle it, or don't want to give the offense more time to plan things out.

It is great to hear your done with your stupidity on this.

Dan, the big return meant very little.

It would have been quite easy for Caleb Williams to complete 2 or 3 passes with 50 seconds left, and get a FG. It probably would have been easy for any QB of a team that is . 500 this year.

As soon as Nailor got the 1st down at the 15 (which is even better than the 18), Tom Brady commented about "now this is where you need to start watching the clock". Brady thinks like a champion, and knew that running the clock down a little bit, puts you in the position to win the game, where your opponent can't respond.

KOC seems better at time management than Zimmer, but he still has a few things to learn.

The big return meant a lot.

It took all the energy off or our sideline and put it on theirs. Our Defense was poised to come out and destroy Williams the next few downs. I was a momentum shifter...they were pretty much in FG range after that return and our deflated defense had little hope of stopping them getting a little closer. If they were pinned back our defense would have been way fired up and had a far better chance of making a stop. Yes Brady was right about milking the clock and KOC needs to get better at clock management if he's going to keep playing these close games....but that kick off meant a TON

I get that when someone says they are done with the silliness, the other person may make their final post about the issue that could include a potshot, a summary, or just an agreement to also drop it. That's the usual way things end up.

However, Marty's MO -- shown once again -- is to string together 4-5 posts where he thinks he is rubbing it in. IMO, that just speaks to his character as a person... or lack thereof.

Maybe it is due to his, as he calls it, "big ego". Everyone is different, for example highly successful and astute people can have that. However, in Marty's case his numerous pile on posts after the fact, as well as his big ego, likely stem from a deep-rooted insecurity and/or someone missing some filters.

Spot on. You can't assume the success of sequence of plays and the Bears use of time outs, especially given the Vikings propensity for miscues and running plays that lose yardage. You also can't assume the Bears would have had no problem getting into field goal range, starting from inside their 30. Williams was 50% on the day. The issue was two ST players left their lanes and got sucked over to the right side of the field and opened a huge running lane. The Bears started the drive in FG range.

You can think it was the return, or blame the field goal for the loss.

As I stated before, the point where the game was really lost was passing for the TD right away after getting the 1st down at the 15 yard line. It's not understanding clock usage in today's NFL.

Leaving 50 seconds for Caleb Williams, or any QB on a .500 team to just get a FG, likely would have led to a loss. If you don't understand, you would also be a losing head coach in the NFL.

I like KOC, seems like a great person, and he is great with the human side of coaching. He is also great at designing plays. But there a questions about his head coaching that make us wonder if he really has what it takes to win the Super Bowl. I have not totally turned against him, but not running the ball on 1st down after the Nailor catch is 1 strike against him.

Gee Bill, I thought you were done with it. Sounds like you lied once again, just like your lie about not reading my responses to your "private" messages. This lying doesn't reflect well on your character, a character that lost my respect a long time ago. Thanks for your laymen psychological evaluation on my character, you might just be projecting.

I agree, partially, with Marty. A good quarterback and coach will control the clock and leave nothing left for the opponent.

However, having said that, at that point in the game the Vikings were just happy to get some points and take a lead. The coach likely had zero confidence McCarthy would ever get down the field, let alone have a chance to score. In other words, take it when you can. Beggars can't be choosers.

This is the difference between having an experienced guy versus a guy with his first girlfriend. The young and inexperienced guy is just happy to be there, with no ability to control his libido.

You are also 100% correct.

Its absurd to think otherwise.

For example, was this potty-mouthed outburst by collaborator KOC because we scored too fast ... before CHI's return?

https://x.com/NFLonFOX/status/1990163397779058887

[for those that don't lip read, "Are you f***ing kidding me!?"]

Of course not!!! He's walking by the special teams coach after the return. That absolutely blew the comeback.

Marty's like the black knight in The Holy Grail with no arms and no legs to stand on.

Except the black knight is humorous, not just pathetic.

Breece Hall ... plotting wacky alternate universes as proof of anything ...

One cuckoo flew over the talkvikes nest.

Other than giving them the ball at the 35---I didn't understand why they didn't kick it thru the end zone.....that may have been the biggest mistake.

As I knew, you'd fail to comprehend. I said I was done with the issue that was dragging on. And I have been. That single post was about you the person, an entirely different topic. So no lying on my part. And I haven't read your PMs. I just delete them without opening them as I've told you.

I made my point about you and am now done with you. Until a future topic doesn't make sense.

Agreed, and Trekkie made that the key point recently. Did KOC think special teams was going to perform a relative-miracle (for them) and tackle the kick returner at the 15 or something? Guessing here, but our opponent's average position is probably around the 28. Suck up the 7 yards in return for zeroing out the risk.

Nah...you just lean the opposite way politically and believe that.
But that is fine...you do you.

I post one reply with Marty and it usually is over (because I don't try to dig in or be mean). Then there is you and Marty being compared----undeniable proof in the last 5 pages of posts. You can't stop. You are so much alike. Twin posters except Marty isn't the arse or mean one.
