The O'Connell offense just doesn't work anymore. Murray looked like dog shite.
Yeah, the Bucs had our number. Play tampa 2 and sit and the offense can't do anything then. I haven't watched the all 22 yet but I have a feeling nobody was getting open and that's why Murray had all day to throw the ball multiple times but opted to throw it away instead.

Also, won't be missed McCarthy. Never should have been taken as high as he was, glad the new GM is trying to drain the swamp. I suspect the QB room will be nuked entirely in the offseason. Surprised we even got a 5th for him, that's a fleece. The amount of people online saying he's gonna go light it up in NY is disturbing... he won't. I'd bet all my worldly possessions on it. If he's in the league for much longer it will be as a career backup, that's it.

Kyler is 18/34 (52.9%), 186 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, and 3 sacks, 54.3 rating

Can you objectively say that is better than what we were seeing from JJM?

Given his pedigree, experience and "professionalism", he should be much better than that in the KOC-KAO.

KOC didn't want JJM for whatever his reasons. BUt there is NO WAY you can convince me it was about on-field production cuz what we have been getting ****ing sucks.

PS - give Kyler a shitload of WR/TE drops and Skule et al at LT, too.....

Doesn't matter now....they were ready to move on. Better to move on and recoup anything even if it is only cap space and a mid round pick than hold on for nothing. Even my view has changed (right or wrong).

The Vikings also had 2 RBs in for workouts today, after releasing Jerome Ford and Jaret Patterson from their practice squad: Devin Neal and Audric Estime.

Tyler Forness
@TheRealForno
I really liked Devin Neal coming out of Kansas. He's got a bigger frame at 5-11 and 213 pounds with the ability to be a slasher in zone concepts.
In my scouting report, I called him a bigger Aaron Jones

Paul Charchian

I LOVE this signing! Neal is elusive and can catch. Injuries marred the start to his career, but he belongs on rosters. He's the third-best runner on the Vikings roster.

Because the 35-year-old — who signed to the practice squad late in training camp — was elevated to the active roster on game day for each of the first three weeks, Minnesota had to decide this week whether or not they were going to sign him to the active roster or let him go.

Not only has Van Noy been elevated for the Vikings’ first three games this season, he’s actually been on the field for 28% of the team’s defensive snaps, to this point. In total, he’s collected 7 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 4 tackles for loss, even logging a start in Week 1.

Minnesota Vikings
@Vikings
The #Vikings have announced the following roster moves
- Signed QB Max Brosmer and OLB Kyle Van Noy to the active roster
- Placed TE Josh Oliver on IR

The Vikings are signing QB Max Brosmer from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, per source.

With the J.J. McCarthy trade complete, the move allows Brosmer to be inactive but dress as the emergency No. 3 QB behind Kyler Murray and Carson Wentz.

The New Orleans Saints organization and coaching staff were highly impressed by Devin Neal during his 2025 rookie season, viewing him as an ascending, multi-talented back with a bright future in their offense. Despite entering the league as a modest sixth-round draft pick, his work ethic and execution earned significant trust inside the building.

The Saints' staff particularly valued several aspects of his rookie campaign:

High Trust on Passing Downs:
Coaches were quickly won over by Neal’s intelligence and willingness in blitz pickup. Even when starting running back Alvin Kamara was healthy, the coaching staff trusted Neal to protect the quarterback, playing him on 62.7% of third- and fourth-down snaps—a number that jumped to 76.9% after Kamara was injured.

Tough, Authoritative Running Style: In late season games against Miami, Tampa Bay, and Carolina, Neal was thrust into a heavy workload. The staff praised him for running with "force and authority," especially while grinding out tough yards behind an injury-plagued offensive line that offered poor blocking up front.

Fumble-Free Reliability:

In his 74 total offensive touches as a rookie, Neal did not record a single fumble. This security and ball control made him a favorite among the coaching staff during tight game situations.

Prior to his late-season hamstring injury in December 2025, the Saints viewed Neal as a player who had firmly secured his roster spot and was positioned to heavily compete for the primary RB2 role heading into the 2026 season. His eventual release via an injury settlement in September 2026 was strictly a numbers and timeline issue due to a new preseason injury, rather than a reflection of how the team evaluated his talent.

Any word on his new preseason injury? We get rid of Ford, who was injured, for another RB released this month via... an injury settlement.

Been to this rodeo before.

You were at the practices?

If you're just going by reports from people that saw them everyday, Murray was the better QB most camp. JJ had one really good day where he outplayed Murray and then immediately regressed and never did it again or built off of it - and that was well before Murray was named starter.

I was basing it off of several people that were reporting at the practices, and their opinion doesn't jibe with your assessment. McCarthy and Murray were either both bad, or were taking turns back and forth with one being better than the other. It was clear on some plays that Murray's height was a problem, and was part of the reason McCarthy was having better days than him.

The last few practices just before Murray was named the starter, were some of Murray's worst days, while McCarthy was either the same as Murray, or better, never worse. Momentum had seemed to go in McCarthy's way when Murray was suddenly named the starter. The minute Murray was named the starter he has a near perfect day, and plays much better.

None of this matters, I will defer to KOC, assume there must have been some more underlying issues, and will hope for the best with Murray. IF Murray isn't the ticket, I think Teasley will find a serviceable QB next year.

Nothing to see there. Once they determined Van Noy had some gas left in the tank it was a foregone conclusion he would be elevated to the 53 man roster. Oliver's injury was fortuitous for Chambliss or Richter.

Strange you say none of that matters after repeatedly posting the past two days that JJM was winning the QB battle, but ok.

KOC saw the results and, like most of the other observers, decided Murray won. Glad you came around and decided to defer to him, regardless of what "seemed" to have happened.

BTW, you remarked "most people here" would agree with you about JJM winning the battle, but haven't seen anyone agree with you. Not that it matters

I was right according to several eyewitness accounts, but I am saying it doesn't matter, because the team has moved on.

I wasn't repeatedly posting something because I just felt like it, I was repeatedly responding to your false statement that my true statement was allegedly false. And David tried making the same incorrect statement, which caused me to repeat and try to clarify for you two what had been reported, what I had read from several sources.

KOC saw the same things that several observers saw and reported on, and came to a decision that surprised several observers. They were surprised because it appeared to them that McCarthy had not just closed the distance between himself and Murray, but had probably passed him up. You can be wrong and decide that most observers had seen that Murray had won, if it is your choice to create a fabrication to try and prove me wrong, since I am often right when you and I disagree, it's not surprising you might take that route, and then try to get others to back you, and try to bully me, and then name-call and misrepresent my opinions, you have done that many times in the past.

There are about 30 people that closely monitor this board, so I don't care if someone hasn't responded in the last 8 hours.

This all becomes about Bill trying to bully me, and it doesn't work.

Then Bill drags the conversation on and on, and then fabricates or changes things I have said to try and put me on the defense.

Eventually, most of the readers of the board want the conversation to get back to the Vikings, instead of Bill trying to bully Marty, or Bill trying to bully Phil, or whomever.

Sorry that bothers you Chris, then I have to conclude that you, Bill and David were only privy to one observer that seemed to be pro-Murray, while I had read from 3 or more observers that stated that McCarthy had closed the gap, and probably passed Murray (height being part of it), just at the moment when KOC made Murray the starter.

I would be happy to prove you 3 wrong, and others if they also want to chime in and say that what I am saying was reported on this by several sources isn't true, I am not sure I want to waste a bunch of time trying to locate either the writings, or interviews, or podcasts comments to find these.

Maybe I should waste my time, since there are now 3 people that think it's so important. I don't think it's very important, as the team has moved on from McCarthy.

Projection at its finest:

and then try to get others to back you,
Like by you introducing the idea that others would agree with you?

and try to bully me, and then name-call
Like by repeatedly calling you a pussy? Oh wait, I mean you calling me that.

Bill, you are the one that bullies people, puts them on the defense, and tries to get others to back you.

I wasn't talking about people on this board that would agree with the points I was making about the QB situation, I was mentioning people that had commented in podcasts or in writing, that had been at the practices.

I never repeatedly called you a pussy Bill, I was describing behavior that you had appeared to be doing, but then you actually took a stand, or clarified your stand, maybe because you didn't want to appear to be what I had been describing?

No projection involved, I have not been doing the things Bill has done in the past, and I am once again pointing out that he is trying to do it once again, and is failing.
