I'm not sure Farve could have ran 5 yards down field after seeing what his ankle looked like.

All those cheap hits attributed to it. Flat out simply was a dirty played game by the Saints

1. Teams always hit hard. If it is outside of the rules there are 6 refs on the field to call it.

2. Watch the video - he was running just fine before the pick!

We have to stop coming up with excuses for our bad play

Looking back he would have probably been lunched if he tried to run for extra yards.

Throw it away or hit BB and hope he can get a bit of YAC were the two plays.

The point is, a lot of shit went down in that game.

For me the bottom line is the bounty stuff had no effect

It was the NFC CG!

Not a regular season game

Guys were already bringing all they had

bountygate was low on the list of reasons we lost that game

Turnovers is by far number 1

then

12 men
Favre dumb pass
stupid penalty on Leber in OT
bountygate
etc
etc

all of those reasons are minor compared to the turnovers, just hold on to the ball and we win by 20, IMO

You guys whom have the Saints near the top of your list have a very short memory

The bountygate playoff game cost us a SB

The Saints are the last team I would ever root for in the field

I had to relook cause that was a WTF moment.

You have to flip their lists. Both have NO as 2nd LEAST favorite.

Thought that might cause a little confusion. But the Geek started it.

There were no more illegal hits than in any game

If there was, why didn't the Vikings hit back?

Just doesn't add up

Nonetheless I despise NO for stealing that game.

Even though we gave it away your enemy has to have a face.

There were alot of cheap shots and late hits that NO got away with. However, your right that there should have been retaliation on our part to balance the scales.

The thing that pisses me off is that when we played against him you couldn't breathe on him. Yet they let that travesty happen.

The code has always been if you go for our guys we go for yours

Did you guys grow up watching Pitt-Oak? Yankees-Red Sox?

Sixers-Celtics?

If NO was cheap shotting the Vikings why the hell didn't we knock the stuffing out of their guys?

Heck, high school teams do that! You hit my son after the whistle and two of his teammates will level you and take the penalty.

I would think that the Vikings PLAYERS didn't feel they were getting cheap shotted or they would have whooped some ass

I think the whole bountygate thing is something fans latch on to in order to explain defeat

Other than saying Favre blew it

The Chargers could be a sneaky team, here. They already beat the Broncos once in Denver this year and Denver is not thrilled to have to play them a third time.

If they get past the Broncos, I heard that the Patriots are especially susceptible to the run with their injuries. The Colts will not present much of a threat with their running attack, but the Chargers are the one team in the AFC who do.

It seems that it's not too unusual for a team with a lower seed to get hot in the playoffs. I love NFL because the balance of power is spread so well. For example, even the lowly Vikings whipped the NFC East champions, Eagles. Last weeks games were especially competitive with all of them, except the Cincy- Charger game going down to the wire. I doubt that we will duplicate that this coming weekend. The higher seeds do enjoy having the extra week off and they are playing at home, so the potential is there for a blowout or two. (especially the Patriots and the Seahawks winning) Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to the games.

I watched that NFCCG a few times.  Favre took his fair share of late hits.  Favre however came out and stated it was just football, and that was after the game.  No, maybe we didn't retaliate, but maybe the guys didn't want to win that way?  If the Vikings get even one or two of those non-calls it could have changed the outcome of the game...maybe even ONE 15 yard penalty could have changed things.  To say that the Saints weren't running a dirty program though is a little disengenuous in my opinion.  Thier DC was banned from the NFL and the HC was made to sit out an entire season.  Bountygate DID happen...lets not try and say it didn't and it culminated in that NFCCG.  Yes, the Vikes had their own chances to win that game....but the Saints were a dirty team and all one has to do is go back and watch the game to see the proof.

Yes they were dirty.
The officiating crew let them get away with it.
The Vikings turned the ball over 5 times and had a stupid stupid penalty late.  Plus they were way too predictable on that last INT by Favre.  Jonathan Vilma knew exactly what was coming and changed the defense right before the snap.  Played right into his hands.
There were a lot of reasons we lost that game.  Dirty play, turnovers, penalties, terrible officiating...any one of them is done differently we probably win the game.  We don't turn the ball over we win by 20.  Our turnovers kept the Saints in the game...and that IMHO was the biggest factor in that loss.  Despite the 5 turnovers we had a chance to win.  Didn't pull it off.

Life goes on.

If you retaliate you risk the chance of a 15 yard penalty. When you resist that, you call it being disciplined.

So tell me how the Saints play

1. Helped them win the game
2. Prevented the Vikings from standing up for themselves

That makes 0 sense. They are grown ass men and if they thought someone was dirty they would have done something about it.

I haven't heard any players of coaches ever state that as a reason they lost the game

i would say poorly coached bunch of pussies...YMMV

and even though they were a poorly coached bunch of pussies, IF they would have not turned the ball over they would have won easily
