I don't know how Cowboy fans are doing today. They should be nervous. I'm nervous and I root for the better team - that is playing at home!

It's foolish to lock this game in on either side. I am just happy for the chance to be nervous and excited today!

Great post! I'm nervous and when we win i'm going to have to listen to it on the radio next week. That really sucks but oh well.

Told my boss that I need to leave next monday if and when Minnesota wins this week. He didn't buy it.

here is a little precurser of the next 7 months

Favre kickstarts retirement talk
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 17, 2010 11:15 AM ET
Brett Favre almost made it through the week without addressing whether this could be his final game. Almost.

"If you win, you go on. If you lose, you're done -- and for me -- that could very well be my last game,'' Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder.

Favre reportedly feels fresh after getting five days off during the team's bye week and doesn't expect a shootout against a peaking Cowboys defense.

The Vikings can only hope to avoid the least enjoyable part of the Brett Favre Experience -- the offseason -- for at least another week.

I agree, get some screens to him early, make Dallas tackle, slow Ware and Spencer.  Get him in on some runs.  Let's see some things we haven't seen all year.

After going 1-3 Wildcard weekend (but WILLING all 4 winners to victory), I went 4-0 THIS WEEK, it isn't often I do that well. I think I may have been the only one on here that picked all 4 this week.

New Orleans over Arizona
Indy over Baltimore
Minnesota over Dallas
NY Jets over SD

I'm ONLY picking the Jets if the other 3 home teams all have won - if ANY visiting team wins, then I'll go with the Chargers. Nobody will be giving the Jets much of a shot. The Jets can run the ball well (T Jones does well in playoff games) and keep the game close. This season, Rivers has started slow in a lot of games and came on at the end. IF he does that this time, it mght be too tough if the Jets get a 4th quarter pick.

It was nice to see a little regression to the mean with 3 of 4 teams with a bye winning. I thought the Vikes would win, but not by a good margin.

I think I'm going to go with the SAINTS winning, but COULD (hopefully) change my mind on Sunday morning.

I think if the Jets win, there is little to NO chance the Vikes will win. For some reason, matchups like that rarely happen (exception: Gruden against the Raiders), and if they seem too storyline, it seems LESS likely it will happen. I don't know if it's because the bettors feel it, bet it, and then it's gets 'swayed' the other way, or if it's just the way things turn out.

I have a bad feeling that the talk is too much of the Vikings' defense, which will lead to the Saints' defense wanting to show they ARE a good defense (at home) that can turn a game on a dime with a defensive TD. Favre did NOT burn Sharper in practices and scrimmages while in GB. It is true that Sharper usually got the better of him, and in fact, one time, picked Favre off 3 plays in a row.

With teams that end up on the losing end, injuries (like Flozell Adams) have a way of creeping up before the game or during it. The injuries are either a real thing, or else it's possible the players percieve that they are going to lose, so by being out one is left to wonder "well, if only so and so had been healthy for the game", instead of just them just being part of a losing process. I'm sorry if this offends some people, but I think it is a slight possibility, possibly a subconscious thing.

Harvin, Edwards and Williams all hurting, is NOT a good thing. Hopefully they are warriors that play through and are a part of the WIN.

I'm going to go with:

Saints 38 Vikes 34 (one almost garbage time TD by the Vikes, followed by a failed onsides kick) - the Saints show 'class' by kicking a FG to go up 38-27, but Favre gives them a scare by getting a quick TD.

Indy 31 Jets 24 - I think the Jets will lead most of the game, Indy will take over in the 4th quarter

I'm going to put the over/under on how many points the Saints score at 27. Which way would you bet?

Agreed

I say the game is a 50/50 there.

At home I would say 80/20 we win

we have talked many times about getting hot at right time

i think this game is decided by 14 or more points, either team that gets rolling can become 'unbeatable'

which team wins by 14+, that is a coin-flip, IMO (at the metrodome, agreed...its more like 80/20)

but the winning team is the one that gets hot, and rolls to a relatively easy victory in this game, IMO

You think you're going with the Saints and the Vikes have no chance of winning, but you might change your mind by Sun. Are you kidding me, what the hell is all that supposed to mean. Who cares what Sharper did in practice in GB, how did he fair against Farve when he was a Viking. Funny how you left that out.

But when Sharper was a Viking, the Vikings didn't usually open up 2 TD leads on the Pack, while I think the Saints easily could on Sunday

drviking,
I had three separate reactions to your post;

1st) Laughter
then
2nd) Hey, that's not cool you're messing with one of us, a Viking Fan!
then
3rd) Bullshit, go ahead and smoke him - He's a Viking fan, picking against us!!!

I've never claimed to be sane, and there's no reason to reason when trying to predict the reason there will be a certain outcome in a game. It should all be done by feel, with a little logic intertwined.

I think the person that talked about Peterson breaking a TD on special teams if Harvin can't make the trip, COULD be onto something ....

I think Peterson is just DYING to once again be the STAR of the team. He resents Favre getting ALL the limelight, and that may be part of the reason for all the fumbles.

There is no credibility to the statement that Peterson resents Favre. Nothing in his interviews, demeanor or body language says anything remotely like that. I get the impression that there is mutual admiration between the two men, and that both just want to win.

Agreed totally! Peterson's best attribute as a football player is that he just wants to win. I really think Favre is the same. Those two seem to like playing together.

Yeah, if anything AD seems to have bent over backwards to sacrifice his game for the team, ultimate team player. I agree, haven't seen even a hint that AD resents Favre.
