I've never claimed to be sane, and there's no reason to reason when trying to predict the reason there will be a certain outcome in a game. It should all be done by feel, with a little logic intertwined.

I think the person that talked about Peterson breaking a TD on special teams if Harvin can't make the trip, COULD be onto something ....

I think Peterson is just DYING to once again be the STAR of the team. He resents Favre getting ALL the limelight, and that may be part of the reason for all the fumbles.

I don't think it's too big of stretch to think that a player who once carried the team on its' back, one who thought of it as HIS team, who broke the NFL single game rushing record, resents NOT Favre, but the fact that it has become Favre's team, that Favre gets most of the attention and that he [Peterson] has become somewhat of just another piece of the machinery, an important part, but something kind of in the background.

I think this is somewhat behind all the fumbling. And I think AD doesn't need to be the reason the Vikes win a SB, but I think he wouldn't at all mind just having his day in the sun (even if it is in a Dome). I think (hoping) his highlight reel day will be today, and he'll be fondly remembered as the person that got the Vikes to the SB. I think he'll relish the role of carrying the team, like he did in Cleveland in the 1st game.

I'm close to switching my prediction to the Vikes, but just can't do it just yet. It really doesn't matter, as they don't need ME to pick them in order to win. I hope one of you guys or gals nails the score right, with the Vikes winning.

Just look at the postseason stats the top 5 passing teams in this years playoffs have all been eliminated . The Jets and NO rank in the top five rushing teams in the playoffs and the Vikings right behind them are all still in of the four left !

The only aberration is the team that has Peyton Manning !

The problem with your theories is that there is only one Payton Manning and one Darelle Revis !!! If you are lucky enough to have one of them then yes you can go with that flow if not you better have a D that stops the run , rushes the passer and you better be able to run the ball and control the lines of scrimmage or you are not winning shit !

The other 3 teams have the top 3 QBs in the NFL this year.  That speaks volumes.

The NFL is all about the passing game, running is just a change of pace from passing.  The 3 best QBs are in the final four and the other team has the best CB in the NFL by far - a position charged with stopping QBs.

This year's Final 4 tells you how the NFL has evolved over the years.

Look at the Vikings - led by Peterson they couldn't even beat a Wild Card team.

Led by Favre they are going to the SB.

Way too broad of a brush.  Although I agree today, if Minnesota can run the ball they can win, football is all about matchups.  I thought the Cowboys were a great matchup for the Vikings because of the offense the Cowboys run.

Saints O v Minn D - the problem we will have is Brees' quick release and our usually soft coverage.  We need to play a lot more tight coverage this week, like last week, to slow them down.  Brees normally doesn't hold the ball enough to get sacked much.


Vikings O v Saints D - we can pound them all day long.  Most of the Saints games I have seen they only stopped the other team's running game when the other team stopped running!

I think you have to be real careful when you attack Brees.  I would blitz in the red zone, but I wouldn't do a lot of blitzing on the rest of the field.  They have too many guys that are great after the catch (Meachum, Henderson, Bush) and you put a lot of pressure on them guys to make tackles in the open field if Brees reads the blitz. If I am the Vikings on defense, I let them have fun between the 20's and try to stop them in the red zone.  Bend but don't break.

Don't recall blitzing much at all last week, and we put constant pressure on Romo. I guess we'll know real soon if we are getting there or not.
