My prediction
30-12 9'rs.

I see us able to move the ball on offense but unable to put it in the endzone. Couple of turnovers the 9'r defense turns into points but a conservative 9'r offense keeps this from being a total runaway.

My hope
As always, I hope for Viking victory. I don't see much probability, but it isn't impossible.

My prediction is the 9ers will score so fast that our defense will still be fresh at the end of the game. Randy will run faster than he has the last 3 years and will score at least 2 touchdowns in revenge. 9ers 35 Vikes 14.

I'm tempted to play Moss this week instead of Antonio Brown.

Not too hard, the Pittsburgh offense is allergic to the endzone or some damn thing.....

I wouldn't call 5 TDs in 2 games allergic

okay, maybe it's just Antonio. 75 yards and no TDs in both games, right?

It really would depend on how your league scores receivers. If it's light on yards, I would go with Randy.

Could just be sour grapes, I have him too. I'm 0-2 and contemplating replacing him with Michael Crabtree.....

Nooo not this week, he's got a good matchup vs Oakland. Though the Vikes are one of the best matchups for WRs as well. I dropped Moss from my team because his snap count is too low. Maybe Harbaugh is waiting to unleash him in the post season?

I always have "grand ideas" of juggling my lineup to take advantage of matchups, but truth be told, the only time I have success in fantasy football is when I go with what I drafted and avoid "managing" my team. So yeah, I'm sure I'll stick with Brown. It's only a matter of time before he starts scoring TDs. That's why I drafted him.

Except Brown is more of a catch & yardage guy than a TD producer.

Moss is the play for me.
I've got Julio and Andre as my other starters so I can take a chance on Moss this week.

Turns out, it makes no difference what I "think" I should do. Nicks is out so I have no choice but to play Crabtree in his place. Won't matter, I expect to go winless in this league.

If you can't beat one of the league's worst in Indianapolis, you aren't going to beat one of the league's best in San Francisco.

Vikings 16

Pretty bold on Chicago. Rams haven't quite arrived, but they looked pretty good last week and Chicago looked really bad.

I think the Vikes will surprisingly lead at halftime, but will still end up losing by a considerable margin.

Ponder gets off to a good start, I think the Vikes might be up something like 20-17 at half, but will still end up losing big.

Should the Vikes somehow win, it would be their greatest win, probably since going into GB and winning with Favre. It would be a BETTER win than that because the Vikes do NOT have an exPacker at QB, and it would be the start of a legacy for Ponder. It would be HUGE for Ponder to lead the team to an upset here.

Without Simpson, I just don't feel the Vikes can attack the 49er 2ndary the way it needs to be attacked. MAYBE Peterson can have an incredible day, I'm just not sure that THAT would be enough.

I expect 2 TDs from VD, and at least 1 for Moss, and 1 for Manningham, though anyone of them could get 4 TDs. That's 4 without adding in Gore, or Smith running one in.

SF 42
Minnesota 20

Ricky, I think you had too much confidence in Carolina :)

I could see Chicago bouncing back and winning big, they are mostly healthy and if Jay is on, that offense could put up a lot of points, and they have a defense that can produce turnovers.

I could see TB giving Dallas a game, Jets should stay within 8 of Miami (I would pick Jets to WIN that one). I like most of your picks Ricky, is there some sort of formula you are using ? (confidence points ?)

Confidence pts = weighted game.

I predict a huge change in attitude on this board, and in the media if the Vikes somehow pull out this game. Huge!

Do you think the Vikes are the type of team that will play to the level of competition, Kurt?

I've seen nothing in the first two games that indicates we can hang with the contenders.
