Here ya go DJ. I won't boast of yesterdays triumphs, but here's where I'm at on Thursday's games:

Mississippi State -7 over San Diego
UWGB+13 vs. Butler
Memphis -1 over Tennessee
Ohio State +6 vs. Wisconsin
St. John's +10 vs. G'Town
South Alabama -3 over Florida Intl.

Sorry I can't touch the Duke game. I don't feel comfortable giving 37, but I don't like the points either.

Sorry to leave you hangin' Pete. I promise I'll make more of an effort too.

Surprised that UT beat Kansas. But as I said to friends here this week, I've always felt Smith was overrated. I think Prince is every bit as good as him, just more raw. Him getting more time will help. Still, it was frustrating watching Kansas not get the ball to Aldrich nearly enough. The guy's the best true center in college in the country; give him the rock!

And Duke, uggh. Can't say I'm all that surprised, but still painful of course. Favors is obviously still raw but I believe in him. And Lawal is a beast. Those two I think are the best frontcourt tandem in the country talent-wise, even above Patterson/Cousins. Could be really, really scary come tournament time, but they'll have to get better play from the guards.

And on the Duke notes, I'll say a couple things:

1) Good to see Mason Plumlee break out. I still think he'll be a beast when he fully blossoms. So much athletic ability. I like Miles too.
2) I'm in full agreement with Bilas; at this point in the season, Scheyer should be getting more pub and should be the national player of the year, even over Wall. He has played extremely well all year. And a 5 to 1 assist to turnover ratio for an unnatural PG? Wow!
3) Dawkins needs to find his shot again. You gotta feel for the kid after the death of his sister.

The 66 was in his last two games combined. Last night he had 30 in the upset vs. Kentucky. He's 5'9" (at best) and he literally is the only offense South Carolina has. He played 38 minutes and has the ball in his hands more than any player in the country. He was constantly facing double teams. Hell, sometimes Kentucky put Wall and Patterson on him but it didn't matter.

He's so quick, and absolutely fearless taking it to the hole. Every time Kentucky tried to trap him, he made it look like a joke.

At his size, what he does is pretty damn amazing and he's fun to watch.

Even in the loss, Wall continues to impress. He's the most patient "star" I have seen in quite some time. He really lets the game come to him. He played a lot of minutes last night, and spent the majority of the time chasing around the quickest player in the SEC. Wall had like 5 or 6 points with 5:00 minutes left. He ended up with 19. He asserted himself at the end and played with poise and control but they came up a bit short. Lots of offensive rebounds for South Carolina.

Kentucky better find somebody that can shoot the 3. They're going to be seeing many teams pack in a real tight zone D to neutralize their size, and so far they really haven't proven that they can shoot from the perimeter.

Not many college BB fans I guess. I love watching for future TWolves.
Today Wes Johnson is impressing me inside and outside. Wall is still the pick IMO but will watch Turner again closely today.

Well, if the season ended today, the Wolves could do no worse than the fifth overall pick.

So, of course, that's where they'll be selecting.

I'm not a Gopher fan, or even a huge college basketball fan. . .but seeing any Wisconsin institution get it handed to them by anybody gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

I must admit; I'm giddy that UK was finally exposed as the (though very talented) extremely sloppy team that they are. I expected this game to be their loss and it was. Of course the rest of my bracket is a relative mess, outside of Duke's region. I had Kansas beating WVU in the finals.

Both games tomorrow should be very, very good games. Going to love to see Izzo and Pearl go at it, and the Duke/Baylor game should be exciting as hell. I hope somehow they have Gus Johnson announcing for it.

I'm with ya DJ, Gus Johnson is the best. Don't think we'll be that lucky, though. What a crazy tournament so far. I thought KU was the best team and they didn't make it out of the first weekend. When I saw the way UK played against Wake and Cornell, I thought they would be extremely hard to beat.

Huggins knows his stuff. That 1-3-1 they popped on UK really took them out of their comfort zone and forced them into taking a lot of 3's. They are just tenacious on D, and they had Mazzulla on the bottom of that zone and were still able to rebound? Unbelievable.

Commissioner of NCAA says it looks like expanding to 96. This really dilutes the NIT field and those people can't be happy at all. Personally I think it is fine the way it is

I thought they'd get rid of the NIT completely with the plan, Jim. Is that not the case?

I really don't like it at all regardless. Going to just add a bunch of really mediocre games/teams and make the regular season much less meaningful.

I like Andy Katz' take;

If you're going to expand, expand to either 68 or 72 teams, and essentially have the current "bubble" teams playing each other for rights to the tourney. As he points out, that beats the hell out of an Arkansas-Pine Bluff/Winthrop game. And he brings up another good point too; who the hell would have cared about that MSU/Kentucky SEC final if the tourney expands? MSU KNEW they had to win to get in. That's what makes games like that important/big.

I'm really pissed off that they're going to expand this.
