RIP Rick Majerus.

When I was a youngster (late 70's) I was fortunate enough to attend a Dale Brown basketball camp in New Orleans. Rick Majerus was also there, but I had no idea who he was. At the time I think he was one of McGuire's assistants. He really ran the show at that camp. He was more hands on than Brown, or any of the other coaches. Every kid there wanted wanted his attention, and everyone of them got it. He loved basketball, and teaching it.

Too bad he didn't take better care of himself.

Great story...

The master recruiter/ payed the most- Dale Brown.

I thought Majerus was a heck of a coach, albeit from afar...

How was Al McGuire? Loved him on TV w/ Billy Packer. Those were the days.

I remember Al Mcquires first broadcast, he had major stage fright, you could see the fear in his eyes as he stammered through, Obviously he got over it.

Two of my favorite programs with a barn-burner tonight ... the Zags and Butler at Hinkle!
Great small schools who can play with the big boys.

So do you have 2 TV set up like I do to enable watching BB and Wild at same time? I also had Wolves on radio

I monitor about 15 computer screens at work.
One has about 12 different gamecasts on it at all times.
Don't tell anyone.

I see all the college BB teams are trying to outdo each other in the " most God-awful uniform design ever" category today.
Several breaking out new styles.
Almost all ..... BRUTAL

Dick Enberg was the play-by-play guy.

With Kentucky not in big dance and already out of NIT, players that were expected to leave, are talking about staying now. That hurts Calipari if he doesn't have room for the new recruits.

Whatever they win will just be vacated in a few years anyway. It's Calipari's MO.

Butler up 7 at the half. Like their coach. He and Shaka are 2 of my favorites.

Bucknell / Butler is a barnburner. Bulter can't buy a bucket.

Marquette escapes. Oregon is letting OK State have it so far.

Agreed. Ridiculous. They look like Hammer/Zumba pants. It's like the schools lost a bet.

This Florida Gulf Coast vs. South Florida game on ESPNU right now is absolutely ridiculous! I honestly think that .03 seconds shot by FGSU at the buzzer of the 2nd OT shoulda counted to force a 3rd OT. If it had counted, that would have been one for the ages.

Okay, not even high school basketball, but after a full court buzzer-beater, a Winona kid does it again for an interview --- on the first try.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschool-prep-rally/eighth-grader-makes-miracle-full-court-buzzer-beater-161309560.html

Really annoying audio. "Oh my gaaaaahsh. Oh my gaaaaaahsh."

Fantastic draft class coming up, full of youngsters of course, but Embiid is really impressing me. Watching him improve, literally, game by game. Will be very hard for any lottery winner not to select him. He went from clumsy and unsure to fundamentally sound (with his footwork) and confident in two months. Fun to watch somebody get better, especially that fast.

He's my favorite prospect in the draft. You never want to put lofty comparisons on kids, but there is a lot of 'young Olajuwan' in him - both in his game and background.

Fouls and turnovers are his only red flags right now, but I'm not worried about either.
