Nah, Philly ain't the place to be, unless you're with a large group. That place is unforgiving when it comes to sports. They are far from kind to opposing team fans in the moment (during their home games).

Maybe during a regular season game in October. But, the NFCCG in Philly? Hell no.

Should we win, I'd be EXTREMELY surprised to hear the skol clap in the stands. Then again, we won't. Any trophy presentation would be in the locker room becuz Philly fans would riot if it was on their field.

Man, that place is the definition of hostile.

As probably THE smartest guy on the board Dan, you have assessed/processed the illogical BS and now your mind will see this through to a positive outcome.

ORIGINAL: Daniel Lee Young

To put this where it should sorta go....
I’ll be ok..

I have and continue to slog through an emotional, medical, mental and legal cesspool of inexplicable ridiculousness that I would not wish on anyone, no matter how much I disliked them.

It’s both personal and privately, a living hell on earth, that words can not do justice.

It is the little things, like my wife, the love we share, and the “ stolen moments” when she gets to share the bits and pieces of our daughters life she is allowed to send my way, like crumbs from the table of life... the pictures Julie shares, the little things my daughter gets to say or do that let me know she still exists, still loves me, still knows I love her and that someday, someday, this crapfest of busybody ****ups will be out of our family’s life and we will all be together again and get on with living, that gives me the strength to bear up under the stress and strain of it all.

Our family has been dealt a kind of injustice that defies explanation..

I understand and accept my role and responsibilities for the perception and the recriminations that have befallen my family’s situation.

The problem is, and I’m not joking, is that the nature of this situation has been so grossly exaggerated that more harm has been done to my daughter and my wife, their lives uprooted, destroyed, ruined.. whatever you care to call it.. It’s almost, but not quite, as if I had committed a heinous crime...which, in actuality, I was charged with doing..

But, I had my day in court, my charges were summarily dismissed and those records, sealed, because of deliberate and malicious perjury.

Unfortunately, criminal “allegations “ also drag in social workers, Children’s services and a whole host of other complex complications that I have been forced, albeit willingly, to contest and contend with.

It is this “secondary, collateral damage” that I am dealing with.

I am doing everything that is ordered of me by a juvenile court judge, to prove that I can provide a safe and stable family life for my daughter and wife.

The kicker in all this is that the one person, my daughter’s Therapist, who thinks I am unable to do that or be that kind of person has Never even talked to me, has conveniently “missed” a court summons, never, ever witnessed myself and my daughter have any kind of interaction nor did she even give me the chance or decency to address the original concerns prior to just taking our daughter away and making her a ward of the glorious state of Nebraska.

I have jumped through every hoop, taken every test, answered every challenge and allegation with complete and total candor, honesty, and integrity, yet my daughters therapist, with her bachelors degrees in therapy and counseling therapy has, despite 2 separate and independent evaluations by PHD’d psychologists, determined and reported, to the juvenile court judge, that she does not feel “the time is right” for me to have even as much as a supervised phone contact, with my daughter.

I have a lawyer, we work this ‘person’ over and over, and have even had her admit that she has made some judgements based purely on “hearsay “, yet in the great state of Nebraska, the requirement for proof or evidence of anything at the juvenile justice court level is only 51% one way or the other for evidence, and hearsay is considered evidence, to tip the scale of “ justice and proof of risk for harm”, one way or the other.

So my daughter’s therapist, by her “preponderance”of ‘evidence ‘,(51%), has complete control and the backing of the department of health and human services, under the guidance of the court in the great state of Nebraska, to deny me any contact with MY Daughter.

445 days, three foster families, literally hundreds of hours of separate or family counciling, therapy sessions, examinations by psychologists and psychiatrists, and the judge in our case, while giving my wife supervised visits and controlled event or outings with our daughter, will not and has not allowed me ANY sort of sessions or time to”reconcile” with my daughter, per this under qualified and hypocritical “ therapists “ recommendations.

As we grind along now, the district attorneys and Rylee’s guardian ad litem have moved over to either in favor of or neutral about my having contact, of some kind with my daughter, and my psychologist, who has a PHD and is on the state board for these kinds of juvenile cases, recommends and the judges stated goal is reunification of our family, this *****, who has never even spoken to me, continues to draw this farce out.

Why?
I can’t say, but I’m leaning toward “she’s a vindictive ####*” who is getting paid by the state for therapy work with my daughter.

So yea, I have this cross to bear, and I an not getting any younger and my daughter growing up under a situation where she is being forced to live in a broken family situation, for, imo, no reason.

C’est la vie.

Hope you get a positive resolution soon. I can't imagine the emotions you must be feeling.

Again, I appreciate all the supporting messages and private contact..

Thank you all..

This situation, and the things I have been through since October 2016, some of which I have not publicly touched on, has changed me profoundly.

I am suffering PTSD..

I am now hyper aware of how my interaction with my wife and others is or can be viewed outside my personal feelings..

This is not a bad thing, but it makes me fearful that my every word, action, reaction and choice is under constant scrutiny and evaluation.

Minor paranoia..

But like I said.. I get meds now.. they help, but underneath it all is a mountain of frustration and anxiety.. the meds help..

Really enjoyed this Kurtis. I'm over 70 & not at all ashamed to admit I had tears of joy & amazement on that final TD.
Nice work!

No tears!

Was moved watching some of the reaction videos.

Kurtis's piece didn't really work for me. Nothing personal. Just have taken in a lot of things since that catch and that just wasn't my thing...

Just goose bumps, chills, and butterflies this week for me. Nothing else is this. Vikings wins, and esp at this stage are a powerful stimulant. Could possibly be hit with some pretty high end stuff here. It's ****ing awesome.

Been riding with my Vikings flag flying on the car all week and nothing!

Lend my car to a friend one morning and he said he got tons of honks, cheers, and hollers....working nights and being encased in darkness on the way in and out doesn't help.

Better get some riding around this weekend!

Times like these I like to reflect rather than rant. It was such an excellent season. We were treated to the #1 defense, something we haven’t seen in a long time. An undrafted QB and WR took over this offense and led it with heart and grit. We witnessed the greatest finish to a playoff game maybe ever seen. Beat GB twice. It’s too long a list to mention. Much longer than the disappointments.

I think I finally achieved balance in my fandom. Actually, I know I did. No, I’ve never been a casual fan of the Vikings, nobody that has 15K posts on a talk site could be called casual. But I’m also not a diehard anymore. Where playoff losses used to leave me drunk or angry or blubbering …the last two haven't. I’m not even in a bad mood. We lost. It stings. But it's not gonna ruin my day or week or month. Or the season.

Though they’ve ripped my heart out more than a few times, this team has given me so much back in spades. I’ve met many wonderful people, through this site and all over the country. Made some great friends, many of which will be for as long as I am kicking. Some … didn’t live to see this exciting season.

Fall Sundays became a part of my life, my routine. Changed my schedules.

And the wins … some bigger than others … still outnumber the losses. That’s a net gain in my ledger.

So yeah, this sucks. There's some shouldas and couldas. We left the prize on the table. But every man on that team deserves our respect. They played hard for us and for themselves. They made some mistakes along the way and they sometimes got beat by better players. But they never quit. We witnessed the ultimate expression of that last week. When plenty of us had given up hope.

Wanted to thank Erik Lundby aka hrerikl who makes this site possible. He came down to the bar today with his son Deacon to watch the game with us. Delain drove down from Seattle to join us as well. Wish it would have been better circumstances but still a pleasure to see you all.

Try not to get too down my friends. Or judge our guys too harshly. Nobody feels worse than they do.
The challenge begins again soon enough.

I hate to have to once again repeat the mantra - "we'll get 'em next year." Far too many "next years" for one fan base to have to take.

It's demoralizing. For the past several years I have begun each season barely even paying attention to football because we're all Charlie Brown and Lucy is poised to pull the football out from under us. But just like Charlie Brown, every year I get sucked back into it and end up flat on my back while Lucy (aka some other fan base) walks away triumphant.

I read the article about Philadelphia actually having as much heart ache as us.....they lost their QB, LB, LT, and Sproles. They didn't win a Super Bowl during the Andy Reid years that they dominated.....This year they actually withstood it better than us during the season and kept HFA.

Their shit stain fan base deserves the heartache.

I hope whatever way to lose the SB the worst way is their fate in two weeks. I won't be watching.

Not finding any solace in anything I'm reading anywhere. Often times it can be found easily enough here. Of course it's still super fresh and raw but I don't see this turning around in 365 let alone this morning.

It has nothing to do with their fan base. They were the better team last night. We unraveled completely after the pick six and couldn't get the momentum back.

Same thoughts my man.
Hoping the Pats embarrass them.
They won't, but I'd love to see it.

I'll add - fool me twenty times yet I'll still fall all over myself to get in line to pay you way too much money to come watch, I'm also a dipshit (or see my sig)
