Guentzel gets the Pens on the board first and now a PP for them. Could be another finals game where I only watch the first period.......

If it weren't for him and the always classy Cullen I wouldn't even be watching any of these games. Hockey in June just doesn't cut it unless your team is still playing.

Sadly, I almost agree with you

Fun to see that most of the rookie playoff scoring records that Guentzel is nearing .... belong to our boy DINO
Probably the "funnest" Spring of my life.
LOVED our runs in '81 and '91.

.....I sure hope it does. Despite Jake and Cully, I'm all for watching the Preds take down the mighty Sindey and company.

I'm happy for the Nashville fans that they got to experience the Finals. Pittsburgh has had about 40 championships between the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. It just seems like the same teams win it every year. I always root for the team that never won it.

Ditto Bruce. Sometimes it's not comfortable (I'm not a fan of Nashville), but I almost always root for the underdog, the never-haves.

1-1 after one

Interesting to hear that was just Cindys 2nd goal in his last 20 Finals games.
You'd think he scored 20 in that time, as much as people chat him up.
I guess it mostly tells you they have had great TEAMS.

Wow, who would have thought Toronto would have stopped the play to give a goal to anybody playing against Sindey! Simply amazing....

Personally, I would take Malkin over Crosby if I had to take one of the two.

Takes something like this ... where an entirely "different" fan base is suddenly energized.
They'll milk it for all its worth.

I sit and watch BETTMANN during all these interviews ... and just cannot believe that is the guy who runs the league. It just doesn't seem possible.

Still one of the most fascinating ways to separate hockey fans .

Big game.
You're down two.
When do you pull?
More and more coaches are pulling early. four, even five minutes left.

No way, imo.
Pulling anytime before 2 minutes imo, is ending the game (most likely). In a bad way.
The one in a hundred times it wins you a game just isn't worth the other 99 times where you are simply forfeiting your chance to get back in.
Now, if you go on the PP with five left? Then maybe ....
But then again, icing is negated, so its probably even dumber then.

Gotta get 2 more.

This week in Nashville is also CMA Fest all week, which is always crazy. And Bonaroo, the other biggest music festival in the state. Kind of the southern version of Coachella. Sunday might be INSANE in this city.

Pens have picked up their game and Preds have no answer yet. Looking like a series where home teams win every game since neither team seems able to play well in the others arena.

Was at Bridgestone tonight; nearly packed for the watch party, in addition to downtown being nuts already with CMA Fest starting. Demoralizing. Hopefully Game 6 is a whole lot different, and then anything can happen in a Game 7.

Been thinking about it, and while I certainly understand the "Nashville doesn't deserve a hockey title" mentality (heck, I was one of them when I moved to town), isn't this a GREAT thing for hockey in general? 1) You're energizing a whole new group of fans. And seriously, though of course there's bandwagon ones, there are a LOT of true fans. They've been doing great in attendance for years now. 2) Nashville's one of the most influential pop culture cities in the country right now with the music craze (NOT just country) and building/residential boom here. One of the top cities for young professionals in the country. I'm not much of a country fan, but I was told at the CMT awards there were tons of references to the Stanley Cup and the Predators. We have a thing we always talk about in my office of "influencing the influencers" for marketing behavior. Getting Nashville people like Justin Timberlake, Johnny Depp, Carrie Underwood, Jack White, Conan, Rex Ryan, etc. behind the sport is a great thing. If you can capture a portion of the national cultural influencers, is that not huge for the sport longterm?

Anyway, my little rant. GO PREDS!
