Krug getting all kinds of love for his helmetless launch into space last night
the TV crew doing everything they could to make it look within the rules.
"didn't leave his feet until after the contact"
Good one Pierre. Since you said it, its true.
One sequence summed it up perfectly ..
Marchand and Bergeron on a 2-on-1 enter the zone, Marchand sends puck over to Bergeron, then immediately drives himself into the defender, who is trying to stop Bergeron. Marchand literally goes directly into the defender, leading with the typical chopping motion into the hands first, the defenders stick goes flying, it ends up as a perfect football screen-play downfield block.
And its praised as a brilliant odd-man rush.
Its maddening to know that these things aren't accepted when others do them. And certainly aren't praised.
And yes, I wish we had guys willing to break the rules to win. I guess.

Unreal ….. that was wrestling on ice last night
That whole "you can't impede a players movement towards the puck" thing is a distant memory.
Its like a mosh pit

If it goes to 7 games I expect the final game to be the equivalent to a Chairs & Ladders match in The Cage!
Maybe bring in some special guest refs to make things interesting.....like Ryan Kessler and Tom Wilson.

Love it
Everyones pissed about everything
When the two whiniest teams play each other, its fun seeing them try to out-whine the other
And out-cheap-shot, and out-cheat and out-pout and out-cry the other.
Boston crying about a blatant slew foot is poetic justice in many ways.
St Louis could very well be the Champs this year
This is just sinking in.
Don't F-ing tell me it can't be done, Minnesota.
Shit is real. This can happen. Why not us? Why never us.

NHL going Stone-Age with The Official's Non-Calls in Playoffs.

Next we'll de-volve to square pucks made from Granite and Sticks (Clubs) made from Raw Oak Branches with the bark still on.

I feel terible for the Bruins fans because that was totally a cheap shot slew foot (and slew stick) and it lead directly to the game winning goal

loved it, some smart ass today said they hoped that would be the next bruin statue out front of the Garden
Dude acted like he was mowed down by a chainsaw
no ones strong enough to flip you that hard with a slew foot
Maybe if you stopped flopping like soccer players, you'd get some respect
They're being Marchand-ed and can't stand it. I love it.

You're right. He did embellish it but, IMO, it was a clear penalty.

Yup, and the worst part is when the playoffs come around it's like watching a different league compared to how things are called all season long.
If they would just get some competent refs and call the game consistently no matter the time of year it would be a much better game all the way around. Russo was on KFAN today saying they have booted so many refs from the playoffs already this year that the clown that ignored last nights missed call was the one that was booted from the playoffs in round 1 last year after missing one in the Wild/Jets series. And now he is the senior ref in the finals! There is a major problem in the NHL with officials from the top on down that needs to be addressed or else they will lose even those of us who love the sport.

I'm actually siding with the refs in this case
You can't spend the games skating around on the edge of lunacy, and then suddenly think a ref will protect you the first time you get your ass handed to you
Boston idolizes that kind of stupid shit
The Krug play in Game One .. they wanted to erect a statue in his honor, for doing ten things illegally … yet now, when he gets touched, the refs are supposed to grant the Bruins a PP
if you want to live by the sword, live by it

I can see your point entirely. I guess I just haven't watched enough of this series to really give a rip one way or the other. I just happened to tune in last night to check the score and see that perfectly execute leg sweep for the take down. And saw the ref 10 feet away with whistle in hand.......
Why have refs if that is how they are going to be? We used to have some knock down drag out pick up games as kids and when we were done it was all good.

You guys are dead on with the actual problem is but Bettman and Co created this mess a while ago. You let the 2 cheapest ass teams in the league make it to the final, what would you expect? If they called it straight it would be the worst watching sporting event in history. The media would cry non-stop about the quality of play and then what? It would be 10 seconds of play and then a whistle for a penalty all game.

It's really a 'no win' all around because of the way they've let the game become.

Yup, and with the state of the Wild team these days, I suspect I will be back to watching mostly college hockey again and only checking in on the Wild on occasion.

Hugh, weird. Refs finally called a penalty that's happened 48 times this series, all non-calls, a 5-3 a little bit later and it goes to game 6. Hmmmm, weird. Not rigged to get more out of it.....weird.
